Fact: David Keith has never appeared in a movie with Keith David. Physicists theorize that if they did both actors would be converted into pure energy.
Went to watch this episode because it’s one of my favs and teared up at the clip of Lloyd watching racist cartoons lol…rest in paradise Lloyd and condolences to you and yours brad…
Can I just say that I'm glad this movie won. I think the Snob is at his best when tackling mainstream shit. While the grindhouse and porn films are fun too, it's picking the low-hanging fruit. Is anyone ever surprised that a porno film is shit? But some of the crazy stuff Hollywood execs spent millions on? That's both truly shocking, and comedy gold. Besides, when it comes to Brad, you know we'll get more porn and exploitation down the road.
David Keith voiced the hero in the forgotten 1997 PS1 game: Overblood. He actually has a scene where he tries to comfort a dying robot named Pipo, voiced by Frank Welker. When the robot shutsdown, he looks to the sky and mournfully screams: "Pipooooooooooo!" It's amazing.
This is a great example of a movie hurt by one great performance. The sister in the domestic violence subplot should not make you not care about the main plot by outclassing the rest of the cast.
Wow, that movie was freaking depressing. The most compelling storyline was the one that ended in explosive suicide....I'm not sure what to make of that.
I'm pretty sure that the abuser was the same dude who played the cheating husband in Tommyknockers, inspiring the Nostalgia Critic to call his character the "Six Million Dollar Asshole"
Wow, this was obscure! Cheers, Brad, for exposing us to films we might never have heard of. This is why I like watching you. Also, RIP Jon-Erik Hexum :( Lastly, yay for Lloyd!!!
I just saw Aristocats from start to finish for the first time, and I agree that it's much more entertaining than this, and I'm not a fan of romantic mello-dramas.
wait Alice Hoffman? the novelist Alice Hoffman? writer of Practical Magic among other books Alice Hoffman? (looks it up) Holy shit it is! How did the writer of one of my favorite novels write something so boring? well, minus the stuff with Diane Wiest, that's pretty gripping stuff, but then again, it's Diane Wiest.
Next time listen to Lloyd and watch the Aristocats - Phil Harris will brighten anyone's day. Aren't those the cats from Lady and the Tramp? LOL! Never noticed that.
I really enjoy this review; I rewatch it all the time. I'm not sure why, because excluding Diane Wiest, this movie doesn't seem that interesting, but I think you played both your analysis of the film and jokes about the patreon vote well. Also, it's always good to see Lloyd. I just wanted to let you know that even though this isn't the movie you expected to win, and a lot of people remain focused on the surprising voting result, some people really enjoy your review of this movie.
Never let the fans vote on what you do next. It's Spoony's VHS Wrestlemania board game all over again. "OKAY! You don't get to choose the videos ANY MORE!" Gotta admit though; the explosive murder-suicide kinda made it worth it!
Back in mid September 1981, after the completion of both great performances on Back Roads at CBS/Lionsgate and An Officer and a Gentleman at Paramount, David Keith was in great shape and got a part in Warner Bros Pictures’ Independence Day, a Blatt-Singer Production under the deft direction of Robert Mandel written for the screen by Alice Hoffman, according to his agent but Keith David was fired off from the film and decided to move on to many projects instead.
Nothing to do with nothing, but I love that this channel's avatar is a "Lloyd Approved" seal. I, for one, prefer to consume media that has the hearty approval of cats, thank you very much.
That cart with the guys in diapers was an allegory of how 4th of July was the birth of a new nation. And by God, if it meant pooping in diapers as they wheeled forth to drive that image home, then I'll salute those adult diaper pooping independence babies. Keep a steady course, brave diaper men. And God bless you all!
I thought I was the only person in the world that remembered "Shock Treatment"! Then I see you actually reviewed it! Great stuff, you have a new fan :)
That green screen is a weird error that happens when editing in Adobe Premiere sometimes. It'll sometimes add a random frame of green to some imported file types. It's annoying as hell, and really easy to miss.
By the 6:00 mark of this review, I was wondering if somehow this movie was going to turn into a Stephen King story. Richard Farnsworth at the gas station? Hmm... Francis Sternhagen as the mom? HOLY SH-T! It IS a Stephen King movie! Does James Caan have a cameo as a burnt out writer?
Gonna go out on a limb and guess that Martina Mcbride saw this movie and made a song about it. Maybe not entirely on it but enough it came to mind during certain scenes.
his character name is Jack Parker, in Major League 2 his name is Jack Parkman - One of his fans in the movie, is in the Will Smith I.D. movie, and is actually the pilot
You know, that's the third time I've seen Cliff DeYoung in an online movie review; first he was the cheating postman in Nostalgia Critic's review of The Tommyknockers, then he was the used car salesman in Jontron's review of The Skateboard Kid, and now he's an abusive husband in Cinema Snob's review of Independence Day. Incidentally, the character he plays in each one is the same kind of selfish, abusive asshole. It's hard being typecasted, isn't it?
*I don't know why, but I actually watched this when I was a kid!* 📺👀 😆 I'm assuming it's one of those random movies that always seem to be on TBS, USA or HBO.
This was the first live action film from the director of "School Ties" and "The Substitute" featuring an wonderful cast, released by Warner Bros in September 23, 1983.
I dunno, that explosion WAS pretty funny and unexpected. I can forgive a lot in a bad movie or series if it completely shits the bed at the last second in a spectacular way.
Brad, you're one great funny guy but I wish it could be more silly when you do something great on the Cinema Snob as host, you make something good as it gets. Believe me, I love you.
Together? Forget it! Marion Dougherty has joined Warner Bros. at 1957 and from 1958 to 2002, she was named senior vice president of casting and talent. For 1983's Independence Day, which the producers, writer and director were finally chosen David Keith for the part as Jack Parker in this beautiful comedy/drama was about "a small town is a hard place to have a big dream" - he's got the part for the film's latter perfectly after Keith David was fired off for good but decided to move on with new projects.
Sandy, your comment doesn't make any sense. Haven't you been reading or writing a few pair of descriptions? So you think you're tough now, huh? But you're not. On 1983's "Independence Day" where David Keith got the part as Jack at Warner Bros., thanks to his manager. His previous acting credits were Disney's "The Rose," "Brubaker," Warners' The Great Santini, Lionsgate's Backroads, and Paramount's An Officer and a Gentleman. As Stephen Stancil of the New York Rangers gave some great advice for all of us: "Better Use Your Head Next Time." I'm sorry, Sandy, but it's the truth.
This is one of the few videos I have seen of a cat watching a video like a person and that's not what surprises me, what surprises me is that so few people commented about the cat watching a video.
Fact: David Keith has never appeared in a movie with Keith David.
Physicists theorize that if they did both actors would be converted into pure energy.
I've never seen a cat watch a movie as intently as Lloyd. Definitely The Snob's cat.
I was half expecting him to at least go from the couch to the TV and paw it. Especially at the siamese cat hitting the piano with the chopsticks
@@GBmovieluv He liked the movie.
We love Big Lloyd, Big Lloyd will be missed.
Yet another independence Day ruined by a Will Smith deficit
Hey, those White House portraits were very lifelike.
eh....lol
The movie was so bad that the water tower's penis was soft
+Jason Miller the movie sucked because the guys who made Godzilla(1998) and 2012 aren't capable of anyrhing good
That's a lot of Fish
Went to watch this episode because it’s one of my favs and teared up at the clip of Lloyd watching racist cartoons lol…rest in paradise Lloyd and condolences to you and yours brad…
It's always mesmerizing to see Lloyd watch TV.
Can I just say that I'm glad this movie won. I think the Snob is at his best when tackling mainstream shit. While the grindhouse and porn films are fun too, it's picking the low-hanging fruit. Good point, well argued!

"Weee!"
"AAAARGH!"
"He loves it. He loves it."
"DEAR GOD HELP ME AAAAAAARGH."
Grandpa's off his meds.
Aww Loyd is watching TV very cute
Y'know, I was still thoroughly entertained. The Cinema Snob, the only person who could make you laugh at a really dark abuse/revenge subplot.
Punished Snob: A critic denied his alien porno
Wow, that movie was freaking depressing.
The most compelling storyline was the one that ended in explosive suicide....I'm not sure what to make of that.
the domestic abuse subplot should have been the main plot. it was far more interesting.
Also, RIP Jon-Erik Hexum :(
Lastly, yay for Lloyd!!!
As soon as the husband said "I don't see any dinner here." I fucking knew a Lifetime moment was right around the corner.
Lloyd watching cartoons was awesome :3
Lloyd makes every review better
"NOPE! Not my fucking problem!" Okay, that just cracked me up . ahahaha, just the timing of it.
I'll take Lloyd watching the Aristocats for 90 minutes than watching this crummy romance movie.
I just saw Aristocats from start to finish for the first time, and I agree that it's much more entertaining than this, and I'm not a fan of romantic mello-dramas.
Haha aww, Lloyd loves watching The Aristocats! :3
As someone who lives in California we never had standards
As a British person, this is easily the 2nd worst thing to happen due to a Public Vote in the last 7 days.
Btw, Episode is good, the Movie itself is the Bad thing........in case that wasn't clear... *sips tea*
Hahaha! XD
I was going to make that joke. I wonder if Boris Johnson and his gang ruined this vote too?
pfff i already made this joke as an American :P
"Brentry"?
Nice the AristoCats. Lloyd has obviously got good taste.
LLoyd cameo! This is a Lloyd approved review
wait Alice Hoffman? the novelist Alice Hoffman? writer of Practical Magic among other books Alice Hoffman?
(looks it up) Holy shit it is! How did the writer of one of my favorite novels write something so boring? well, minus the stuff with Diane Wiest, that's pretty gripping stuff, but then again, it's Diane Wiest.
This is her only screenplay to date on the film's latter.
I still do enjoy Brad's devotion to 90's video quality when even his phone could present a better quality recording.
Once again, Lloyd steals the show
I'm more fascinated with the belt next to Lloyd then the actual movie.
Definitely looks like something Brad wouldn't wear.
Brad is a naughty naughty boy.
Next time listen to Lloyd and watch the Aristocats - Phil Harris will brighten anyone's day. Aren't those the cats from Lady and the Tramp? LOL! Never noticed that.
Cinema Snob: And why does the water tower have a dick?
Yakko Warner: Good night, everybody!
Not you, Yakko. You're okay. Cinema Snob, watch that kind of talk, okay?
@@markelijio6012 I didn't know The Snob was A pianist.
@@Launchpad05 I'm sorry, okay?
At least lloyd was having fun.
I'm actually happy this one got picked.
Nice review
😊
Happy Independence Day to all you Brave American Pilots and Patriots who defeated the Alien Invasions of 1996 & 2016!
I really enjoy this review; I rewatch it all the time. I hope brad does more forgotten 80s romance movies. Hell it should be the theme for Feb 2018
"Time portal in the back room".
...Was that an 11/22/63 reference? Cause of Keith being in Firestarter? If so, Brad, I salute you.
18:16 - Holy Fuck! Didn't see that coming!
It was truly the Bomb.
Watch your mouth, will ya?
Never let the fans vote on what you do next. It's Spoony's VHS Wrestlemania board game all over again. "OKAY! You don't get to choose the videos ANY MORE!" Gotta admit though; the explosive murder-suicide kinda made it worth it!
If it's any consolation Brad, this episode was still really funny.
Shanghai, kung pao, egg foo young.
Beating women always wrong.
Brillemeister hahaha that's a good one
HOLY FUCK THAT GOT REAL DARK REAL GOD DAMN FAST!
Skip to 11:07 and 22:06 for Lloyd. Trust me; you're going to need those happy moments by the time this thing's done.
Thanks :)
Have David Keith and Keith David ever been in a movie together?
Back in mid September 1981, after the completion of both great performances on Back Roads at
CBS/Lionsgate and An Officer and a Gentleman at Paramount, David
Keith was in great shape and got a part in Warner Bros Pictures’
Independence Day, a Blatt-Singer
Production under the deft direction of Robert Mandel
written for the screen by
Alice Hoffman, according to
his agent but Keith David was
fired off from the film and
decided to move on to
many projects instead.
I don't care what the movie is, if the Snob reviews it, you know it's gonna be great no matter what.
Good lord, I'm amazed you were able to stay awake long enough to make an entire review on this. This looks like ambien in celluloid form
aww your kitty watching the aristocats is cute.
lol how the hell did the Porno spoof didn't get chosen over this one?
I really wanted to see him review
He let his Patrons pick. Obviously they are all morons.
+Shin Seiki Evan theyre morons because they didn't choose what you wanted? What a nice person you are.
I saw an Asylum knockoff of independence Day at my Walmart today,And I wish he reviewed it!

Naw, I'm not a shitty person. So I disagree.
Brad has the best 'WHAT THE FUCK?!' in the world!
Brad, Watch It, Please!

Lol... I love how intently Loyd is watching that cartoon. He looks so into it xD
I gotta be honest with you, friends, I came here strictly for Lloyd watching the "Jazz" sequence from Aristicats
Lloyd yeah
man Lloyd sure was into that good ol'fashioned family friendly racism
Dang, the porn one didnt get the most votes???
Dang? You mean...

?
I know dude... That honestly surprises me. :\
I really hope he still reviews it because I'm really curious about how close it sticks to the movie and I don't want to seek it out myself.
I wonder if Boomer was also in that version.
I saw some clips, lots of anal...suspicious lack of aliens or anyone looking like the characters from ID4.
I thought I was the only person in the world that remembered "Shock Treatment"! Then I see you actually reviewed it! Great stuff, you have a new fan :)
Me at start of the review: Man! This isnt an 80s version of ID4? This is gonna be boring!
Me at the 5 minute mark: WHAT IN HELL IS THIS MOVIE!?
Wow, the sheriff and his wife from Misery are in this movie!
how did i miss this movie. might be worth a watch.
great shit. Love your vids man.

I for, well not one but one among many I'm sure, that think it was a blessing that this won the poll, cause usually less is more with the Snob.
At about 1:50 thje video glitches. The poster shows up, it flashes green, then it goes black for around a second.
There's also another green screen glitch at 16:06
