    People have to understand that the grey shirt guy isn't there to crush him. He's just there to help the amateur practice. We have pros at my gym that spar with us. They could easily unload, but it wouldn't prove anything, since they're PRO! They give us tricks and tips, but trust me they don't even break a sweat.

      Both bad fighters if you want to even call them that other than children. Both too scared to engage and end the fight quik. Just coward and weak fighters as usual :). Na nothing to do with pro. Fighting is mostly speed, brute force and fearlessness. This is why no matter the amount of training you have if the other person is fast, strong and not afraid to get in your face and break your body and bones then good luck. Some of us will literally eat you :). I claim world's best boxer and would challenge anyone if they want but won't end well for you. My punches may kill you so if it's a risk for some good money I would fight any pro :).

      That's how you train. You let each other work. You practice moving around their shots. Instead of having a one upmanship battle. You can't get better when the other dude just smothers you with barrages or if you don't let your sparring partner work

      I don't think the "pro" had a choice he was getting atted up and the grey shirt definitely was exhaustingly tired from all of the blows he was being delivered to easily.

    Dude in grey is the pro. Notice the difference in technique, combinations (watch the jab as well) and how comfortable the guy in the grey shirt is at any distance, ESPECIALLY how calmly he maneuvers out of the way of punches at very close range. He slowly applies pressure and uses different angles and combinations. I give the man in the grey shirt kudos, he let the other guy get punches and combos in while showing him what to look out for and the counters that he can be prone to. Great video.

    @xlilnetx Nah man, I've sparred at a few gyms and it doesn't always get serious. It depends on each person's personality... some guys go nuts (especially when sparring at a gym that's not your own) and it turns into a fight, others are more sensible and it stays as a technique workout.
    The guys in this video are definitely keeping it nice and relaxed and not trying to take each others' head off.

    That black dude putting a whooping on him, anyone who knows anything about boxing can see the guy in red only lands maybe 1-2 punches and when he does land they aren't clean. although it may seem like a hit , he only clips the foam. Advice for the guy in red, I would suggest working on lateral movement, and going forward, Moreover better upper body movement. you look pretty when you throw a combination, but you get countered over and over by Superior upper body movement.

    yeah, and some have no idea what they are talking about. I wouldn't be taking advise from someone with little to no experience and i doubt that you would either. Watching hundreds of youtube tutorials and reading/ watching pages that teach perfect technique means nothing unless youve actually been out there and done it. You'll be surprised at the amount of people out there that think they know EXACTLY what to do (perry, bob, weave etc) in every situation, but have no idea how to actually do it.

    How does that xlilnetx comment have 13 upvotes? Calling the pro an idiot?
    The reason he COULD throw endless jabs was because the Amateur had no answer for it. You think he'd do that against someone with a counter? No.
    Back on topic, great sparring session. I'd imagine it was quite a learning experience. You did great against him; the only thing I will say is you need some head movement - only time I saw your head move was when his hands moved it for you. Other than that, very well done.

    Might want to think about uppercut-hook-straight combo, plus uppercuts and straights when he covers up. And please, learn to cover your liver. Key to this, IMO, is keeping your chin tucked in, which makes it a lot easier to cover your liver and your chin with your right, plus it makes bobbing, weaving and slipping more effective, makes you more elusive. Weave with your legs (not like the pro) so that you'll have power in your counterpunches coming out of it. You got some good hits in.

  • @tko502

    @xlilnetx Pal, I'm not insulting anybody's skills/talent in the ring. You called the guy an idiot twice for no reason & now you're calling me an idiot! And you say I'm a keyboard warrior? I've had professional fights against Virgil Hill, Fabrice Tiozzo, Dariusz Michalswezki, Charles Brewer & other men who would knock your teeth down your throat. YES, I lost the fights vs the big names, but I left it all in the ring. Anyone who steps in the ring deserves respect, not ridicule! That was my point.

  • @TheTuita
    @TheTuita 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @xlilnetx Relax man, I'm sure the pro doesn't throw 5 jab combos in real fights, and maybe he's got a crap record, but it's no reason to talk smack about him.
    It was a sparring session and for all intents and purposes, it looks like the session was about teaching the red guy. The guy in black was taking it easy and keeping a pace that the red shirt could learn at.
    It's MUCH better than some gyms where newbies don't get a chance to learn coz asswipe pro's beat the crap out of them.

    The novice did very well against the professional in this "controlled" sparring session. By "controlled" I mean the professional fighter did not follow up when he hurt the novice with a straight right hand. Novices improve by sparring with fighters who are better than they are, but the trainer of the novice needs the more experienced guy to work on his defense and footwork without trying to knock out
    the novice. Twenty years ago I sparred with many NYC Golden Glove fighters at at a Bronx gym

  • @SirFlavi
    @SirFlavi 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @xlilnetx But no pro fighter should actually be trying their best with an amateur who only had under 10 fights. How ignorant of you to call him an idiot just because he's using his jab. Obviously, this jabs worked as the guy in red couldn't do anything about it. Jabs are your most effective punches and you can win fights by just throwing fights.

    @brandeezy108 I mean lateral movement as in he's too square on, (and yes that means side-to side). I have favourite loads of good boxing vids.Tell the guy in your gym that he doesn't know what he's talking about. lol

    @TheTuita dude if u ever sparred u know everyone gets serious after u get hit in the face, even pros. anyway what would 5 jabs combos teach him... he was trying to kee the kid back and hurthim for far.

    @lmelendez65 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was there, not you, I trained the pro, not you and the kid in the red was the only one that was able to spar with him that day NOT YOU. SO BEFORE YOU DO ANY MORE COMMENTS STEP IN TO THE RING.

    @lmelendez65 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @xlilnetx Hey What do You know about Boxing? the kid in the red was 165 lbs the pro was 148 lbs. this was like 4 years ago. but I will like to see you sparing with the pro by the way he is retired

    @Iowfatcheese More to expose holes in defence and technique. If a jab or hook slips through whats the point of hitting someone hard, just make sure the person is aware of the mistake and rectifies it.

  • @joshuauribe
    @joshuauribe 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    a little more head movement, and dont come back to the same spot after you throw your jab, and dig your feet in a little more on your hooks, other than that good job man!! you have talent for sure

    haha ever noticed how many people comment on these kinds of videos saying "well done" and telling them what they need to work on? so many professionals out there watching these things! :O

  • @xlilnetx
    @xlilnetx 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @TheTuita no it doesnt it to keep him back, and if u sparring u still shouldnt be throwing 5 jab combos it might turn into a habit. And read the description. the dude got mad......

  • @xlilnetx
    @xlilnetx 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    ddude did u not watch the same fight im watching.... every single one of thoses jabs he threw were closes enough for him to land a counter on.... watch it over thank you....

  • @jonbathurst4936
    @jonbathurst4936 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    not if he throws them from a distance, the counter right hand only works if he steps in too close. Overall I'd say the pro is a pretty good pro skillwise. Kinda oldschool.

    Haha, the one in the red was doing good at the start, but then the pro started to make him look silly, nonetheless, both great boxers and props for going against a pro.

    Didn't see all those swords and axes before! Bet those metal posts helped fighters avoid getting stuck in corners when fight night arrived.

    What kind of head gear were you guys using? A few friends of mine want to invest in getting some new gear and a head piece is one of them.
    Thanks

    awesome skills ! The guy in red looses a bit technique when getting tired. But the 1st round looked very nice.
