Geology is the most speculative of all sciences; it can be overwhelming in the field at times with so many details to consider. I hope to zero in on some of the key details and bring them to all of our attentions for use in tracking deposits. Thank you for your support ( :
@@SpearsOfCrystal Of all the states in North America, California is among the most impressive to me geologically and mineralogically. That's amazing it's your home state and wow thank youu! Cheers to natural beauty mate⛰🌿💎✨
awesome video man! good to see an upload from you! taking a trip out to Sapphire North Carolina in a few days; hoping to apply some of your techniques to the area to see whats out there!
Thanks for sharing your plans for your next mineral adventure!! In your case, it's gemstones, and that sounds thrilling. I grew up in VA and NC and have to say that the geology there is brimming with surprises and unique mineral deposits. If I return for a visit, I plan to make some videos in NC. I wish you great abundance on your trip friend💫
Thank you so much bro. You're really active with your prospecting so I was curious if you get a lot of snow near you in Canada. Snow is falling in Colorado rn and limits surface visibility at elevation here. Is it like that in Ontario too?
@EverythingIsSpirit snow will cover all the good places by mid November or early December, but that's if we have a regular Christmas, last year me and my friends got out multiple times in the middle of December. This year we are supposed to get a pretty brutal winter so I don't think I am going to get out a lot.
My pleasure and thank you for tuning in! As my geologic knowledge builds, I plan to share what I learn about the correlations (in addition to pocket play). Stay up homie⛏️💎
I've heard magical stories of gold discoveries in Park Co, that's awesome you got an op set up there. Lots more videos of crystals coming from Park Co soon!
Full of great tips, rockin it pullin some good size crystals! Its so important to never stop looking for those clues even when heading to your destination. Magic all around and super encouraging to get out there and discover ! The little double crystals are so kool ✨️with your question about the largest quartz origins- looking at the post cleanup crystals as a whole, there are several on the far right that have a similar color and makeup and similar tone mixup maybe even close in diameter, though different shapes. Is it possible where those came from could be a clue as to where that one big one came from that ur holding?
Thank you for your feedback Moon!! You too are another seeker who I know to be journey oriented and I see how beneficial that is your process and finds. Thank you for your hypothesis and excellent observations. Crystals of one single origin often bear similar textures and characteristics. I didn't mention this in the video but that large DT does have a little sparkly red hematite subsurface and so do the smaller crystals. Since the large crystal was found on the surface, it's expected to be a little lighter in colour. Aside from that, it does seem to be fatter than the more elongated others. I will ponder this difference in considering a potential secondary pocket in the area. Thank you!!
Congratulations on an awesome find! I love your vids, and I bet your out there right now! I'd say no, about that big honker being from that pocket, unless the seam was much wider on top of it. Looks like it's time to ditch the prospecting hammer and come back with some heavier gear ;0
TYSM!! Every second of spare time spent on pursuits, despite the weather, you know it! Thank you for your hypothesis about the big DT. When you say, "unless the seam was much wider on top" do you mean vertically upward before erosion removed that section of the pocket? FR though, if there's a chance of more like the first crystal, it'd be worth multiple backbreaking days just to get the pocket started.👊
@@EverythingIsSpirit I hope there's a follow up video of 4:46 "Here we've got..." it looks like it goes deep there. I bet there is facet grade stuff down below the frostline. Side note: just picked up some cool "tire change " bars at Harbor Freight $4.99 apiece.
@@SERFINUSA I couldn't agree with you more about 4:46. Other than pegmatite continuing along the sides of the boulders into the ground, I didn't notice more than a couple small crystals there. I think the reason is that they've all migrated downhill a bit from erosion over the past 600 years or so. Still, there seems to be mysteries here that Harbor Freight may help answer. ( ;
Props for considering slope direction for winter digging.👌 You might be right, the Tarryalls got slammed by the storm last week. Let's hope for sunny days and maybe a gap until the next storm🤞
You should make a discord for rock hounding and a Colorado specific channel in there! Also I would love to learn more about how to find underground pockets, I watched the one for above ground in rocks but it seems underground ones are much harder to seek
Thank you for the suggestion!! What's good with discord? Is it like a live chat discussion type environment? The underground pockets can be tricky to track but there are certainly indicators and patterns that make the process fun and attainable. For each underground pocket, the signs are a little different. However I did make a TH-cam tutorial on how to find a pocket from scratch if you're interested in learning more about interpreting those surface signs. I think I titled it, "How to Find a Crystal Pocket from Scratch" Cheers ( :
@ Discord is where you can make your own server and invite people to it or have people be allowed to join. In the server you make you can have certain different channels that you can talk about whatever subject you want or just have a general channel for everything. It’s just a way of messaging people.
@@Ai_Scape Thank you for explaining Discord to me. That actually sound like a great idea. As a student, I'm really tight on time and have lately only been able to prospect/film once every three weeks. However, when time permits, discord is definitely something I'll be considering going forward because it sounds useful. Thanks again for the suggestion🙏
Stoked to see a new video! I learn and gain motivation to get after it by watching your stuff. Keep 'em coming.

Aw yay thanks for sharing^_^

@EverythingIsSpirit thanks I have the shakes too usually, but bracing my arm against myself helps a lot.
@@Ontario_Rockhound Thanks for the tip, I'm going to practice bracing the next time I get out.
