Found your channel thanks to the algorithm, haven’t watched all of your videos but I really enjoy your content and have taken some of the principles you’ve mentioned and applied them. Today I found my first big pocket of calcite! Thanks for the videos, keep it up!!
Thank you for sharing your success. Inspiring others is one of my goals but allowing others to produce results is the ultimate goal so cheers to your pocket and keep up the good work!!
I rly like how u use the visual aids and esp ur hands to demonstrate or illustrate what you are explaining. It really helps visual learners picture your words < 3
18:37 real shit are you tied into a rope here? Super sketch. Side note: I was on the SE facing outcrops across the way and those spiders were all over.
No rope and tbh, I think tieing in with climbing gear is the way to make the most out of this particular spot. Props on your explorations in the SE outcrops! & FR tho, the further out we get, the more wicked wildlife we encounter🐍🦇🕸️🕷️🐻🦁
@@EverythingIsSpirit Haha dang man! Yeah I've been practicing retrievable rappel anchors for this area in particular because of your videos. When I was halfway up and looking for trends, I was getting disappointed tbh. Looking across the way where you were I could see the difference in the rock. I even called it quits (but still a win for experience) after nearly reaching the summit. With luck, I found float on my way back and discovered my first pocket. It wasn't an easy scoop kind of spot and I was out of time, but I plan to go back next year for a more delicate extraction. I'm considering making a video since I had everything recorded on a gopro via chest mount--in case I got btfo by a moose, cat, or bear. Thank you so so much for diving into the science side of rockhounding and how to read the geology and history whether it's in front of you or on a map. I can say with certainty I would not have been as honed in as I was without your education. The best part of Rockhounding imo is the connection to nature, its history, and the immersion within it.
@@gnardvark You beautifully encapsulated the essence of prospecting/rockhounding and all its magic in your message. TYSM for sharing your experience with details and congratulations on discovering your first pocket!! Really amazing bro honestly, and you'll notice that especially after the first, they'll start to happen more frequently. Prospecting is an art of pattern recognition; the more you are looking at rock and learning to discern subtle changes, the better. Lastly, I want to comment on your perspective. You said, "I even called it quits (but still a win for experience) after nearly reaching the summit." The part that is most important is that its still a win. This growth mindset is what will make you successful in your pursuits. I have MANY days in succession where I'm exploring new areas and walk away with zero content and only a couple samples of granite. But those days were still wins for the immersion in nature, geology, and opportunities to learn each unique experience. Cheers mate
Oh you know bro, just prancin around the forests kickin up dust! I'm glad to hear you get value from these videos and based on the size of the fish you're reeling in, I bet you could pull some hefty crystals as well. Happy prospecting bruv🤙
like what you doing, I like your work, you have helped me a lot in locating pockets with quartz crystals. My trouble is that I only find beryls and aquamarines that are formed, so thank you. Greetings from Serbia
One beautiful thing about geology is that it's applicable to any place in the world. Thank you for sharing your success and that's amazing you're finding beryl and aquamarine crystals!! Keep it up!
Yeah wigwam is the best. Been going there for since hayman fire. Seriously cool shit. I’ve found crystals like I’ve never seen and nothing I’ve ever seen you dig up on your videos These are just sick I would like to show you see what you think Came from trailhead area.
Gaia GPS. It's ~$80/year for premium which is 100% what I recommend for anyone wanting to elevate their prospecting game with offline maps, geologic map overlays, and detailed data logging. The app is packed with features and even shows you how much snow is in the area when you're planning routes.
This really is one of the best rockhounding vids I've ever seen.
That means so much to me; I'm really glad to hear that the information is helpful to other Earth-inspired seekers. Cheers
Thanks so much for the detailed answer, cant wait for the next video.
Thanks for asking the questions. The quest for answers help drive the missions.⛏️💎✨
