Awesome video and epic finds! I have to say my favorite mineral is quartz because of the many different varieties and locales. It belongs to the trigonal system. Keep up the hunt!!
Though there have been good days, I will say that I still have MANY days where not even a single piece of quartz is found. Day in and day out. There are also times where I spend a full day tracking indicators and never find the pocket. Having a good attitude regardless and as you mentioned, "the search continues" mentality is what will ultimately yield successes for us. Keep it up homie.💪⛏️
So awesome. Really cool to see the wildly different states and formations of smoky quartz found on the channel. Also love how many options we have to find minerals here in Colorado, even despite the mining claim lockdown of certain regions. Tourmaline is probably my favorite at the moment, elbaite and schorl in particular--trigonal system.
Thanks for noticing! There surely are a lot of videos on smoky quartz but it's it forms in so many ways that I think it's okay. We certainly do have a lot to choose from in CO!! You are right about some regions being very claimed. That's a big reason why I love the Tarryalls; with enough hiking in, there's open ground. I'm about to post a revised version of South Tarryall Peak where I personally recommend it for prospecting. There's not many claims there atm.🙏 Excellent choice of mineral, you are entered!
Shout out from Manitou Springs! Thx for the videos, informative and motivational 😊. I enjoy spending my time on the PPB, because it's my home❤. Going with Amazonite, triclinic.
One of my favorite crystals is Vivianite which crystallizes in the Monoclinic crystal system. Also love Smoky Quartz and Amazonite which is why I am loving these videos of you finding them! Hopefully someday I can dig for some.
I got a soft spot for vivianite.💚 You're entered into the giveaway. You totally will be able to dig it some day, sometimes it appears even where it's not supposed to. All the rest of the pegmatites in this area produce pink feldspar, but apparently that can change all the sudden. Keep looking and you will surely find it💎✨
😂 going to the bathroom is how i found my very first morel mushroom ! Heck yea Travis Gatlin & Hunter, well done. Brilliant video. Thank u so much for including me on the magical crystal escapades. && Good luck everyone in the giveaway!

Fluorite! Belonging to the isometric system. Awesome video like always man i really like watching your videos i learn something new everytime, thank you for entertaining and educating us!

Great video and awesome finds!! I have to rep an Ontario classic for my favorite, titanite, it's monoclinic. Titanite's wedged shaped crystals are just way too cool.
Dang you guys gathered so much! I love all the information you include throughout your videos, I learn something new every time o.0 It seems to be tetragonals that most often catch my eye..& if I had to choose a favorite mineral - which is extremely difficult - I think I might have to say hematite!
I'm overjoyed that you get something new from each video. That's really a major criteria for my posts (is it contributing something new about mineral formation). Ik gosh it is difficult for the super enthusiasts>.< good choice and very diverse, you're entered!
Quartz is my fav, especially those of the Co. locale, so super stoked for this opportunity. Apparently quartz only crystallizes in a hexagonal or trigonal system, learn something new every day.
I long to find some great topaz (orthorhombic). Thought I found a 3 1/2 C colorless fragment (PP granite east of PP summit), which would indicate they were dropping out of the cliff face above, but alas... s.g. was only 2.60. It would have been worth digging out the climbing gear to explore further. Love the vibrant color possible with amazonite (triclinic). Found a massive vibrant-green slab on pink k-spar and embedded smokey in the k-spar, while on a hike, and pretty close to the location of my false topaz. Unfortunately I was crossing someone's claim, so no collecting. Someone had stashed slab in the trees just below the diggings (or it slid/rolled there). Too big to easily carry, I've been toying with the idea of looking up the claim owner and offering to buy the slab as it sits, then using a kid's plastic sled to drag the slab some 3 miles back to the car. It was really stunning. Don't get out to your area all that much, but I try to do Bison Peak once a year. PS: I bought a lot in Crystal Park last year, so I'm allowed access. Want to build a home there in '26 or '27. The area were Richard Fretterd is said to have found his 9 and 10 ounce topaz crystals is about a half mile from my lot. Also, I'll be 70 after Christmas, but I'm still kickin' it.
Scotty, l thanks for your mineral rich comment, I loved reading what you're up to. Oh man I too have been duped by some topaz-looking quartz and you got a lot in Crystal Park!! With your passion and curiosity, you'll have many topaz crystals before long. I highly recommend getting in touch with the claim owner if you can bc that's a great idea and I know many claim owners that would accept offers like that. They would also greatly appreciate you for respecting their claim and may create a new friendship. ( : If you bring a sled, I hope you video it, photos, something!! It would be an amazing story. I see you are kickin it stylishly and uninhibited.💪 I haven't tried Bison yet but know there's a Bison Peak in the Tarryalls and Kenoshas. Id vouch for it based on what's going on in neighboring areas. South Tarryall Peak has been very fruitful for topaz collecting in the bases of the cliffs. I'm about to repost a video where I'll mention where to park for that spot. You're entered into the giveaway, cheers friend⛏️
Oops, I meant to post it here too. I put a note at the bottom of the video description and made a TH-cam short to announce the winner: cirrusmentuspolychronopoli1027 There will certainly be more giveaways on this channel going forward and thank you for your participation and support!
