I suppose when the haynes manual was written, multimeters were not common tools for owners, but not anymore. good stuff Ryan, looking forward to it running

Thanks Tim, I suppose your right, certainly digital multimeters were not common back in the 80's

Excellent video just keep sorting out one job at a time and you will get everything done properly and be happy with your new bike.

I think someone offered you kickstart casings in your last episode Ryan ,yes those stators were a problem on early Superdreams a mate of mine went through about six of them in the early 80s👍

Hi Derek, yes you're correct I have been in talks with a couple of people and I'm hopeful I will have an excellent update for the channel soon. 😊 I'm not surprised the stator was bad, and just grateful I had one from a box of spares I bought some time ago.

Highly appreciate your work, i have no clue how the high speed pick up works though, could you please share some information about that too.
    Thanks a lot

Hi, I am happy to help where I can, but not sure what you are asking? Ryan

@@RyansGarageUK I got my head twisted thinking how the high speed pick up works, i mean the working principle, can you please tell me how it works?
And my stator is not in original state, one of the previous owners has repaired it and the wires are not in original colours. Im glad if you could let me know the original colours.
      Eg;-
(Blue- High speed source coil output )
(White- Slow speed source coil output)
      (Pink- Advancer coil output )

@@lahirulakshan8028 hi, i m not an expert in electics and woud not wish to tel you something wrong. I would suggest searching for the wesbsite of Rexs Speed shop, as they have an excellent online guide to testing all the windings and the colours of the wires. In principal i think the high speed just sends a pulse that the CDI uses as. Timing marker for when to spark based on position relative to TDC and the Revs.
