    Nice detailed look, Raj! I agree, I like the in-depth reviews that show all the menus. Super slick.

    Thanks for the review. I love my 660. I still learned some things, though!

    Ahhh, NH96. My old stomping grounds. A real airport.

    I couldn’t tell you about that product. But it connects automatically in my plane to the GDL 39.

    Is there a way you can load an approach into the 660?

    The ADS-B on a GTX345 will also provide the Aera with all services.

      Could you please help me to know how to get an inexpensive ADS- B which is required by FAA. I have not flown for a while but in LA area I need to get it. Thanks!

    I just got the 660 installed in my Piper arrow but it doesn't connect automatically to my flighstream 210. I have go into the tools/bluetooth menu and click "connect" everytime I powerup my airplane. Isn't autoconnect working?

    Can I ask what mount you have for your 660 in this video?

    Good beginning. However, all the LSAs coming out now have autopilots and the 660 is a good option to drive them. That's the info I need....

      I don’t believe the 660 Can Drive an auto pilot, you will need something like the G5 as it Hass to be permanently installed in the airplane.

      @@TailWheelsRock Actually this TH-cam video (th-cam.com/video/lNAQEuyOmYs/w-d-xo.html) demonstrates a Garmin 296 slaved to an xCruze 110 (formerly TruTrak Gemini) autopilot using Garmin's power/data cable. The xCruze 110 lists the Aera 660 as a compatible GPS.

      I’m sure you could get the 660 to drive an auto pilot but legally the auto pilot source Hass to be permanently built into the airplane for certified airplanes. Experimentals could not tell you.

      @jamsferguson 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TailWheelsRock Fortunately, in experimentals, there is no requirement that the GPS be permanently installed to direct the AP.

      I recently did some upgrades to the Zenith CH-701 I built and have been flying for the past several years. Part of these upgrades was the Aera 660 from a 496. Also added a Dynon D100, AP-74(autopilot knobs), HS-34(HSI knobs and interface for any type of GPS or Nav radio) and 2 Dynon servos for pitch and roll and a GDL-39 3D.With the Aera 660 power/ data cable and a GDL-39 power data cable I hardwired the GDL-39 to the Aera 660, Hardwired the Aera 660 to the Dynon D100 through the HS-34, I connect the Aera 660 through Bluetooth to my IPad Pro and also Bluetooth the iPad Pro to my headset. Audio from Dynon and Aera660 is hardwired to intercom. With this I can use ForeFlight on my iPad to create a flight plan. Once plane is started and gps powered up I can press a button in ForeFlight to load it into the Aera 660. Once flying, hitting the nav button on autopilot the Aera 660 drives the autopilot. The Aera 660 also provides data to the Dynon to calculate winds aloft at current altitude and info to the HSI.

    Great video! A really dumb question: what you are showing here, is what you get with purchasing the AERO660? Or for getting the charts you have to purchase also the area charts, the maps and so on?

    • @TailWheelsRock
      @TailWheelsRock  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You get all of this when purchasing the 660.

    Hi! Very useful! I liked the video and subsribe your channel!
    Can you draw some track route in Google Earth KML and export to this garming too?
    After this, can the Pilot fly and follow this KML line, directly on Garmin dislay, with his helicopter ou cessna?

    What do you mean the IFR charts aren't the "actual charts"/ Neither are the Jeppessen's, going with your presumed logic in saying that.
