    Hi I love Dr. Desmond. I bought the book went totally plant-based. I’m 5 foot 5. 50 years old and weighed 170 pounds and have auto immune disease and IBS. I have been plant-based for two weeks now I’ve lost 10 pounds my irritable bowel is all gone not one episode. I am sleeping better and have more energy than I’ve had in over 10 years
    Thank you for doing this interview great job, Chuck!

    I LOVE that he reiterates LOW FAT. That is key! Along with WHOLE FOODS. These beyond burgers and vegan cheese and vegan sausages etc are FULL of oil! And too many other chemicals! They are all So high fat, and have an ingredients list a mile long. Get away from that mess! Eat real foods! Drink water! Freakin work out! Leave animals be man. And carry on with your life and be sexy and fit as you do it!✌🏼

    My favorite meal is tough to choose, but breakfast is sautéed spinach and dandelions in apple cider vinegar and an orange olive oil/black seed oil mix with pine nuts and, black seed sprinkled and lightly sautéed tomatoes served with avocado toast topped with alfalfa sprouts and maybe goji berries on top. Or lunch/dinner: millet patties, sautéed Swiss chard/ book choy or collard green combo, teff cornbread and “cheesy” cauliflower.
    I’m a pescatarian but, I’m planning to transition to vegan plan in June. This video was great to stumble upon right now.

    I'm so thankful for this interview! I started some changes after hearing this a few days ago! I was glad to hear the advice to "go low and slow!" in transitioning: I can now see how I had been eating so many "good" foods all at once. I'm on day 3 of "adding 3 fruits daily, week 1"😊Love it and look forward to it!
    So much of this interview is helpful for me, but his "tip" on "emptying your bowel" position brought a smile! I thought of putting a stool under my feet a few years ago, and hearing the leaning forward position is also correct was supportive to hear!
    🙂Also encouraged by seeing the good feedback from viewers! Thanks!

    Good to watch, thanks. Here in India there are millions of modern toilets with plumbing etc. but with an 'Indian style' water closet, W.C. instead of the seat like commode.
    Now the seat is becoming more and more common. I recall in childhood my relatives' flat in Mumbai which, like most flats since decades came with a Western style seat - but people especially of the older generation and more rural people are used to squatting. So there was a wooden table like thing with a cutout in it placed over that seat: one could squat safe and stable on the wooden surface.
    We used the Western style toilet since earliest childhood and it's become the norm in cities but 'Indian style toilet' of porcelain is available, any Google search would examples by manufacturers. Trains have both types, of stainless steel.
    Somewhere in India there's a museum of different types of toilets.

      I know of one study where they actually wanted to see if there is an upper limit to fruit consumption, where fruits risk to become detrimental to health, and they didn't reach the upper limit even with 20 servings of fruit a day.

    • @scullyitsme9844
      @scullyitsme9844 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not ethics exactly. As the most junior part of the team, it is I’ll advised to challenge anything the attending physician says. It is considered disrespectful and bad form since he was there only to learn. Not to speak. Some attending physicians and senior residents can be quite offended by a junior practitioner contradicting them. I believe I saw an interview with Dr. McDougall where he said he tells the medical students who intern with him not to go back to their medical school and blast about what they learned with him. It’s instant ostracizing for them. Quite sad.

    Very interesting, but I totally disagree with the foot stool/squatty potty "mimicking" proper squatting.
    I bought one years ago and it was damned uncomfortable as it forces you to sit "in" the toilet seat and I didn't any real improvement until I started squatting on the toilet bowl itself, which is actual squatting and totally safe, so long as you take your time and make sure the bowl (and you) are dry.
    Wet feet are not a good idea.
    I've been doing that for years now and there's no going back to sitting, or "mimicking."
    If I could afford to have a proper squatting toilet fitted in my bathroom, I would!
    It'd certainly be a conversation starter for guests! 😉

    This is very interesting but once again I see information from a health professional that contradicts other health professional advice, and this does my head in. The debate about fat and sugar and which is worse is so confusing!!! Dr Desmond states quite clearly that sugar is not good but he sees saturated fat as the bigger enemy. I have just read the Pioppi diet which is endorsed by some heavy hitting medical professionals including leading cardiologists etc and this diet encourages people to eat foods like eggs, cheese and full fat dairy products and to avoid sugar and carbs. I do not doubt Dr. Desmond for a minute but what he is saying does seem to contradict what I am reading from other leading medical professionals such as Dr Aseem Malhotra and Professor Tim Spector. I have no idea which way to turn on this so I may as well flip a coin!

    What is the difference between a plant based diet and veganism?

    • @NaveenYoYoDude
      @NaveenYoYoDude 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Veganism is a superset. Veganism is a way of life by living in a way that doesn't harm any animal, like by eating only plant based food, not wearing leather, supporting ethical treatment of animals etc

    • @Lieutenant-Dan
      @Lieutenant-Dan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Veganism is a moral stance against using animals as a resource for food, clothing and materials etc. Plant based simply means eliminating animal foods from your diet which some people do mainly for health reasons and they aren't necessarily a vegan.

    • @kaypee4704
      @kaypee4704 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Veganism is a socio- political term, that supports PETA issues. Eating plant-base, refers to dietary intake, in support of good health and well-being. 🙂🇺🇸

It is like new habits and addiction learned to make new neuronal connections in the brain.Balance,the average medium mean .Whole plant based diet is foundation ,but little animals protein s is good .TAMO could be mitigated if you add Balsmic vinger or Apple Cider vinger ,one tablespoon diluted with glass of Walter .Shop soluble fibers for your microbiota and green leafy veh
