Love your list-amazingly I have actually seen ALL of your Top Ten with the exception of Cujo. I would put The Birds as my number 1 scariest; it took me about five viewings before I could keep my eyes open during the entire thing. Only lifeboat movie I haven't seen is Alligator. Can't believe Jaws 3D made the list-it's HORRIBLE!
In middle school, Willard (1971) came out and everyone talked about killer rats for weeks. In 2003 a remake of Willard, starring Crispin Glover, came out and was even creepier, thanks to Glover.
I would add The Fly, with Jeff Goldblum-only saw it once but I still remember his human parts rotting off and him 'saving' them. Ugggh!
Also, An American Werewolf in London scared me silly, even as an adult (if King Kong can be on there, so can that one).
Gremlins (okay, I know they're not real) was really scary because the good ones were so cute but the bad ones were evil!
The Cat's Eye (1969) actually has some decent actors and stars a lovely ginger cat that is verrrrry 'protective' of its owner. meow...

The Fly and American Werewolf in London are both GREAT movies but they didn't fit within our rules (No half animal, half human movies). King Kong just seems like an overgrown gorilla so he got to be in Tony's life boat but, alas, did not make it to the island. We also briefly thought of Willard but decided it was too sad to bring onto an island 😥. And we haven't seen The Cat's Eye, but if the little ginger kitty is a KILLER, we're in!
