I dont even like horror movies. Its 100% Aleece's voice! Your cool too tony. Congrats on 20+ years
The mention of When Evil Lurks makes me want to watch Terrified again(not to be confused with Terrifier). Same writer/director. I recommend watching The Empty Man at some point. It was nearly impossible to find a while ago but Redbox had the DVDs for sale, so I bought one. Also...The end of Malignant is (redacted) Sam from trick r treat would make a nice costume 🍭🎃
Hahaha that Malignant comment jump-scared me but of course I kept reading anyway 😂 And Empty Man actually does look pretty interesting and was not at all what we were thinking of! TerriFIED is a great one! and full approval for a Trick R Treat Sam costume 🎃 🍭 👏 👏
I'm sorry but I think I deleted ny last comment on this video. I had commented on your previous video with a spooky emoji to show that I watched the whole thing. I want to add interesting(IMO) information: I wasn't subscribed when I saw that video and I also wasn't subscribed when I saw this one, but was recommended both videos. i think the algorithm notes that like I watch long form content and like horror movies. I'm now subscribed and look forward to seeing you grow. You're criminally undersubscribed.

Don't forget The Poseidon Adventure ‼️

Love your list-amazingly I have actually seen ALL of your Top Ten with the exception of Cujo. I would put The Birds as my number 1 scariest; it took me about five viewings before I could keep my eyes open during the entire thing. Only lifeboat movie I haven't seen is Alligator. Can't believe Jaws 3D made the list-it's HORRIBLE! In middle school, Willard (1971) came out and everyone talked about killer rats for weeks. In 2003 a remake of Willard, starring Crispin Glover, came out and was even creepier, thanks to Glover. I would add The Fly, with Jeff Goldblum-only saw it once but I still remember his human parts rotting off and him 'saving' them. Ugggh! Also, An American Werewolf in London scared me silly, even as an adult (if King Kong can be on there, so can that one). Gremlins (okay, I know they're not real) was really scary because the good ones were so cute but the bad ones were evil! The Cat's Eye (1969) actually has some decent actors and stars a lovely ginger cat that is verrrrry 'protective' of its owner. meow...
The Fly and American Werewolf in London are both GREAT movies but they didn't fit within our rules (No half animal, half human movies). King Kong just seems like an overgrown gorilla so he got to be in Tony's life boat but, alas, did not make it to the island. We also briefly thought of Willard but decided it was too sad to bring onto an island 😥. And we haven't seen The Cat's Eye, but if the little ginger kitty is a KILLER, we're in!
I'm French and I'm overwhelmed by the fascination this movie gets in other countries. To me, it feels like it gets more love around the world than here, in its homeland. Or at least, it seems more talked about outside of France. Forereigners seem much more traumatized by it than us, who tend to see it as just another horror movie (a very interesting one, though, and arguably one of the best of the 2010s). Actually, the fact that other countries talk about "French extremity" tells a lot. We don't see it that way, here.
@shibitoobscura3348 Interesting! Thank you for the perspective! I often wonder this when I watch movies made/produced outside of my home country and how the viewing experience must be drastically different. I may be able to watch and enjoy these movies in my own way but not in a comparable way to a viewer actually from the depicted country, city, or neighborhood.
@@guttedhorrorpodcast Yes, definitely. I feel the same about American and Asian horror movies. Or from other parts of Europe. More often than not, political context is required to fully get the social commentary. And boy, it definitely is true for French horror movies of the 2000s/2010s
Awwww, YOUNG PEOPLE!!!! You guys are adorable, wondering WHO Hayley Mills is... For those of us who are not youngsters, it's more like, "What?!? Hayley Mills? Pollyanna, The Trouble with Angels (what a HOOT), That Darn Cat, Parent Trap, In Search of the Castaways..." My sisters and I grew up watching those movies over and over again-LOVE Haley Mills; so glad she's still getting work.
This was scary to a kid in the 1970s and early 80s who watched it late at night on crummy tune tv with bad reception. The chauffeur was the stuff of nightmares and the last 10 minutes let you shell shocked.
@davidrobertson4332 I believe it! Even today, that chauffer is terrifying and strangely entrancing. Fell a little bit into a rabbit hole trying to figure out what else the actor had done 🙃
I love the banter between you too. I am 52 and watching this movie on a crummy tv with bad reception at night and seeing that chauffeur and the last 10 minutes has been burned into my memory. The chauffeur traumatized many kids in the 70s and 80s

Loved the theories!
Thank you!! I feel like we've got it this time! 🤞🤞
They tried to do more of a Friday The 13th part 6: Jason Lives with this resurrected decomposed zombie fisherman, but using it as the twist in the killer reveal. It would have been better with more toung in cheek humor instead of playing it all straight, as Jason Lives did in 1986. It's still pretty fun though.
Completely agree! Would've loved more tongue in cheek humor or "self-awareness" but overall, we didn't hate it as much we thought we would and actually enjoyed parts of it! 😂
That film deffinatly looks interesting 🤔🎥💥 I too have a prediction - long legs has a cult and it ends up being everyone around the main character and a series of 'Flashback' clues shows she was on the right track and has prepared for the 3rd act🎉 I'm a huge fan of horror and have been camera operator on a few super low budget UK horror features and shorts...i predict Longlegs is a meaning of how far he can reach out to his other cult followers🎥💥🎥💥🎥💥🎥💥
@stuCameraman1 love these predictions and your thought of the meaning behind "Longlegs" as a name!
8:16 Fun fact: Total Eclipse of the Heart is about vampires!!!
You lost any respect having not seen BCD
@southernstacker7315 one day, little gatekeeper
This has a pg rating right?
It's a movie for the whole family! 😂
Interesting ideas! You really do need to check out The Blackcoat's Daughter. It's fantastic, and if LongLegs is going to be even darker and more bleak in tone (which I've heard it is) then this is going to be one heck of an intense new film, lol Also, Kiernan Shipka, who was in Blackcoat's Daughter in a very pivotal role, is in LongLegs as well. And I'm very curious about her being cast in this film.
We do, we do! The Blackcoat's Daughter has been on our list for a while and this may be the time to finally push it to the top!
This one looks good! I'll check it out. I have no idea what this one about, although I hope it doesn't wind up being a creepy giant spider movie.
@ricshorror if it does end up being a giant spider movie, that'd be a pretty big twist! Based off the trailer, it does look pretty good!
Just a man who lost the love of his life, a giant spider who was a stripper at the club in the seventies, enacting revenge on the families of the creators of Raid bug spray.
David Boreanaz 😂 Ok, thanks for the rec! I finished X and Pearl last week. I will check out Angel before I watch Maxxxine.
@cathyyates you've already done some solid preparation for Maxxxine! 👏👏 Angel's a good one but you probably don't need it before watching.
Ahhhh!! Thanks for the shout-out!! First and foremost, another awesome EP. And this one one I'm really excited about! I also know David Hyde Pierce from Fraser even though Ive never watched Fraser. I also know Fraser was in Cheers, even though of never seen Cheers! I also.. jk. Bible boomark😂😂.
I just love Burnt Offerings Dan Curtis put the dream sequence in their from his own childhood memory of his moms funeral the guy with sunglasses creeps everyone out the book is just a great one to read .
@donpace6405 yessss, Tall n Toothy is so creepy! Definitely the fuel of any child's nightmares!
11:45 got it in one: it is a pure (horror-themed) tragedy (with a strong touch of cosmic horror for the second half and especially the ending). Loved all your predictions! Pascal Laugier's movies are great for trying to guess mid-way where it's gonna go, it tends to consistently surprise the viewer. I highly recommend his latest movie Ghostland (which is not nearly as gory/extreme, but still has a lot of violence and still a lot of emotions and compassion like Martyrs), also his previous movie "The Tall Man" (disregard the bad trailer that tried to make it look like a cheap slenderman ripoff, it's not that at all), and even his first movie a very good spooky one, definitely worth a watch: "Saint Ange", aka "House of Voices".
LOVE these suggestions! THANK YOU! We love when movies can evoke a variety of intense emotions and you nailed it with the comment that Laugier combines violence with compassion. That's exactly how Martyrs felt. We'll definitely be adding your suggestions to our watch list.
@@guttedhorrorpodcast You're very welcome! Green Room is another little horror gem. It manages to combine urban, gritty, realistic violence and sensitivity (ie, the violence is not glorified, nor used just for shock value, nor made into a fun video game). I highly recommend it if you guys haven't watched it. It's a very tight thriller, very tense, very visceral (emotionally).
@@IceCenders Green Room is fantastic! Anton Yelchin's vulnerability with Patrick Stewart's quiet intensity is such a powerful combo in the film.
@@guttedhorrorpodcast Completely agree!
Is it overthinking to ask for movies to present sound logic though?! At least say that they are evolutionary attuned to certain frequencies that they find more interesting than Others, something!
Dakota also from Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise's War of the Worlds
It smells of elder gods much like Midnight Murder Meat Train so I'm in.
This easily one of, if not, my favorite "horror" movie ever. Its just so "wtf did i just watched?" and also absolutely BRUTAL
Renny Harlin also made a great 80’s horror movie called Prison starring a young Viggo Mortensen about a haunted prison. This is also a remake despite the whole “origin” line. Then again it could also be both; a “requel” as Mindy called it in Scream 5. My prediction: The movie will follow the 2008 movie fairly closely. Richard Brake will take Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s death and Discount Scott Speedman will die. The killers will leave Red Hot for dead but she’ll survive and spend the next two movies hunting these people down. Prey At Night is a fun watch and less dire than the original.
hahah i love these predictions! (“discount Scott Speedman” 😂). Also, definitely want to check out Prison!
Another great episode! I'm still not digging this film but the convo was fun!
Thank you! Hopefully the next trailer will be a good one! Any upcoming horror films you are excited for??
@@guttedhorrorpodcast oh geez. Honestly, I tend not to look at trailers and try to stay away from horror news. First and foremost I just feel like trailers give away too much, case in point Abigail: I would have liked to have been surprised by the fact that she's a vampire. Anyway, to answer the question: The exorcism, only bc religious horror is my bread and butter!
@@ricshorror Same! We try to avoid horror news also. So much so that I hadn't heard of The Exorcism until now! But seeing that Russel Crowe's attached and it's not a sequel to The Pope's Exorcist (that I know of 😄), I'm intrigued!
@@guttedhorrorpodcast someone figured out that Russel Crowe as a priest = shut up and take my money

I have to say I love this show format. I wasnt looking forward to Abigail, Im still not! But I am looking forward to your next trailer review!

New sub. Great show. I have to say I really liked this one. It was fun for a B-movie. I will say the tunnels running under the motel reminded me of that scene in Vacancy with the rats.

This movie is painful, but beautiful. A Serbian Film is a person exercising depravity
I don't see the house as mother. Mother possesses Marion and takes over her body and stays in the house.
I like that interpretation (Mother takes over the physical body of Marion). We felt that the house too, seemed to be like a living organism as it seemed to evolve and become more powerful as the movie progressed. Placing the concept of "Mother" onto the house made the most sense to us, esp. when it came to that creepy photo wall of the house's (or to us, "Mother's") portrait throughout time!
The remake was dog shit slower than molasses the dumb bitch going after the dog, bad writing, running zombies snyder and gunn ruined the classic but romero he shows the collapse of society and shows true horror of human where in remake has nothing too offer but just campy boring slow pace trash and had an "unrated" release which was just gore but with romero it had multiple cuts European cut, U.S cut, directors cut, cannes cut, extended cut. Missing scenes added dialoge even on youtube someone spliced all cuts of 1978 romero and argento so snyder go fuck yourself
I'm wondering what happened to Marion?? Did she stay as that old lady up in that room?
I’d go to an old abandoned factory
Ooh, kinda like The Saviors from TWD?? 👍
Did you folks notice the part in the club where they notice the other vampires there? It's hinted at, and very quickly, but it's there.
Oh no, I don't think we caught that! We've been meaning to give this one a rewatch so we'll have to keep an eye out
Subbed for ze intro💀 staying for the vibe Terrifier 3 bouta break the Internet and I'm here for it🔥
Thank you for watching!! We're pretty excited for this one. Terrifier 3 and MaXXXine, please don't let us down!!
It was a really heavy movie but I think it deserves to be watched by those who could stomach it. it was also very well made and the photography was really classy.
The difference between pearl and X is they were shot back to back and that was the plan, thats why they released so close together The complaints come from no horror fans obviously . All Hallows Eve, the film Art the clown debuted in had 2 kids being decapitated....Dead snow 2, Live Evil and a Christmas short called Treevenge has babies being killed ....sure its disgusting but it is also fiction, anything happening in film to child would be discussed with the parents..if i was a kid id want to killed in a horror movie too ill give it a chance but if its pointless like the last ones ill probably skip the 4th...im getting older i need an actual story .
