I love it when you make whole Chinese dinners. Can you make more dinner videos?
I think it's a wonderful suggestion.

It's so wonderful that you create such detailed and informative content all for free! Thank you Mandy, I'm looking forward to making these recipes 😊
this was freaking bomb! My family loved the food. Ive never been able to get my family to eat boiled chicken instead of fried. and using the broth to make soup is the kind of meal prep flow kind of information seasoned cooks can provide thats really helpful!
Unbelievable. The whole dinner format is exactly what I need. I can whip up awesome single dishes, but I struggle at putting together a balanced meal. Thank you!
Some everyday recipes are the tastiest. I am a native Californian who is accustomed to fresh fruit after dinner. Special desserts are for weekly and other special events. Thanks for posting! ☮️❤️🐾
I really like seeing the whole dinner - not just a core dish.
🙏❤️🙏
The way you describe each ingredient and its role in the dish is so informative. You're definitely a professional cook. 👌🥰😋
This looks amazing! Can you please do a home cooked dinner series?
I love this format of showing how to cook a dinner, rather than just a single dish. Very useful for me!
I made this for me and my son tonight, and it was delicious! I added sliced green chilli to the aromatics
I love how you not only teach recipes, but also give a lot of useful tips and the "why"s behind them, and i absolutely how you also taught an entire work flow, i like these much better than single dish demonstrations.
Quick tip !! In this day and age, ginger is coated with a chemical to stop in going bad, not a good chemical, but just peel the skin off your finger before use and good to go into these lovely dishes, great video
I love videos like this!! Please do more with this format. Cooked it for my family and they loved it so much. The flavour was amazing and I learned so many new skills from this video 🤩❤ We want to cook it again soon. Especially the chicken.. that scallion sauce is soo good 🤤
The basic, simple meals that we make over and over again keep us healthy and grounded. It’s not just food to nourish our bodies, but it also warms the soul and reminds us of where we came from. Cooking with high quality, minimally processed ingredients is both healthier and tastier, so I’m sure this meal is going to be delicious. Thanks for the recipes; these will be used frequently in my house.
The world is a a perfect place when we can sit down to a virtual dinner together with friends like you.
I'm impressed with how easily you deboned the chicken. It all looks super yummy.
Wow, for someone from a western culture I'm very envious of how well people from Eastern cultures eat. This looks very comforting and healthy for a regular dinner.
More videos like this please!
One of my best friends is Cantonese, whenever I go to his house I'm guaranteed a good meal. I was told that it is bad manners to only eat one bowl of rice and that I have to have at least two which is never an issue for me, truth be told. 😂 One of my favourite meals is a chicken dish that only uses parsley, coriander, water, oil, salt and pepper as seasoning. No idea what it's called but my friend's mum showed me how to make it so I can cook it at home. So cheap and simple but packed full of flavour, my kind of food. 😊 I'm going to try this tomorrow, I have everything but the chinese greens/spinach so I'll pick some up on my way home from work. Thank you, subscribed for more recipes. All the best from Scotland 😊❤🍜
Hi Mandy! Absolutely loved how easy it was for you to debone the chicken legs in seconds which shows that you're the True Master of your Craft! 💜
The soup before and after is genius.
Maybe you can make a series with different soups to accompany the dinner 😊
It makes sense; but my before soup, is beer.
Very good teaching. very clear and straightforward.. I love to watch ing her channel.
Reminds of the REAL Chinese food I used to get in the NYC Chinatown, when I used to live there. Simple and veggie-filled, with a good balance of carbs, meats and plants. Normal Chinese take-out food is so full of fats and sugars, it's only slightly better than fast food. A pity that most Americans think that's true Chinese food. REAL Chinese food like this is incredibly healthy. Thanks for this video! I think I'll take the soup recipe--I never know what to do with my chicken stock. This is a perfect way to use it! :D
I'm from India i love different cultures.
This meal was SO GOOD! I’ll definitely make it again & again.
SUR is one of the channels I tried a lot to cook from. So I did with this dish. Now some 2 cents from my end.
Sauce: I tried as in the recipe. Turns out there's so much scallion oil included, it didn't go well with the faty texture of the skin. Solution: I whipped it up one more time and added merely a few drops of aromatics oil. Otherwise soy and Oyster is a winner. I added merely a hint of sugar since Oyster sauce has quite a lot in it already. Modified sauce was on spot for my liking.
Broth: It's goinna turn out quite light. After taking out the chicken I reduced even more and added salt, lil msg as well as some tuna Flakes and a tiny tad bright miso. I know it's a sacrilege. If you gave some Chinese Umami near, go ahead.
Chicken itself.
Mandy has some cool skills going on when it comes to deboning cooked chicken. My chicken disintegrated during handling. I've put it on a small tray and popped it into the fridge for firming up while keeping the shape as good as I could. Once firmed up, I could slice it nicely. Then I had an idea: I've put it in the air fryer and gave it a crisp. That was a game changer. Again a sacrilege but a game changer.
Soup: I used spinach as a green. Outstanding.
As mentioned above: The stock is pretty light. One can add more veggies such as leek and carrots to intensify. That or going for Umami such as mushrooms or what not.
Again a very inspirational video. Thanks for the input. Keep up the good work.
I love this! Please, more home cooked dinner recipes!! Thanks for your inspiring channel!
I love the whole meal series. I hope you keep them up :)
Thats what I find so cool about chinese cuisine. Taking into account not only flavor, but also a balance of nutrients, good aroma and a variety of colors is something i try to do whenever i cook now, even if im not cooking chinese food.
love this type of video for a quick multi dish dinner, please make a series of this!
I just made this today, my Chinese Matriarch approves of it!
I just made this for dinner tonight after a really long and stressful work week.
It was absolutely delicious and the highlight of my entire week. My only regret is that I didn't cook more rice. 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for this recipe. I'll be adding this to my rotation of regular meals.
Soup is a must in Chinese dinner
It is always enjoyable to watch your recipes.
Thank you so much
Great meal Mandy, you make such delicious dishes. You offer such good explanations of why and how to prepare and share your culture. I hope you are here for a very long time to show us how to be as authentic as we can. Thank you for offering substitutes when possible, I live in a very remote part of the country so I use your suggestions frequently.
Thank you so much!
I love this style, I want a series on this
This chicken is called bak chik kai in Cantonese, ya. I love it. Great sauce. We usually just mix soya sauce n sesame oil.

Thank you so much for your insight! I always love to learn what everyday meals everyone is having, especially asian. Here in germany we mostly eat bread with various meats and cheeses. I think it's a bit boring and carbohydrate and fat heavy.
Wonderful as always. Thank you.
Looks amazing !

I love watching your videos, makes me miss the old days going to grandma's home for those yummy hearty cozy family meals.
I love love love this type of video!! Im trying to incorporate more chinese meals in my day to day diet because I love most recipes I have tried. But many recipes don’t explain how to eat healthy/budget friendly on a day to day basis since many recipes are fast food, holiday meals, street food or such. Now I understand more about how to make a complete meal in Chinese cuisine. So this was very helpful. Please make more. Thank you❤️
I would love more videos like this, putting together full meals but in a nice simple way. Perfect
