Hi Ailsa, I have enjoyed watching your recent and earlier videos. It's so good to learn about what is happening in the local wool scene - yarn suppliers, workshops, yarn stores, festivals etc. I also like your yarn and pattern choices and you have given me a few ideas for future projects. Keep up the good work, looking forward to more in the future. Kind regards, Kristine.
Thanks Kristine, I'm so glad you like this content. It is a real learning curve. The knitting keeps going forward, so I'll keep trying to make more videos as I go. :-)
Thanks for mentioning that. I ummed and ahhed about leaving that bit in but decided in the end to be authentic to how I feel. Agricultural shows in general seem to ignore this element of our history, its a shame.
I enjoy your videos! Love your yarn selections too. One small request, when you show something could you slow down a bit and show it more carefully? I would very much like to see what you're showing. Your work is appreciated!
Noted! Although I do show my knits many times during the process so when they are finally finished they all get a little more one-on-one time. But I'll try to slow down during my WIP rundowns too. Thanks for your feedback..Ailsa
It’s not a handknit Chris, but thanks for asking - it was from French Connection a few years ago. I had a look at rav and think in addition to the Harley you might look at Andrea Morwy’s the Traveller, Sand Rose by Oceane LM, November 20 by Ankestrick, or Farlow by Veta Romanenkova..
Ailsa, that mohair yarn you bought looks delicious! I've gone on the website for wagtailyarn and I'm definitely going to try this yarn. My question for you, since you've been able to see and touch the yarn: Is there a difference in yarn appearance for the the various weights (other than thickness) - I particularly loved the shine/glow of the yarn - is that consistent in the various weights? Help is appreciated!
Hi there - all of the wagtail pure mohair yarns have the gorgeous gloss/glow about them, but the ones with the wool blend have less of it. I hope you enjoy it when you decide which weight to buy, let me know..
Understand your feelings about possum content. I recently bought an expensive cardigan/jacket that was a failure within 30 minutes and I found contained “raccoon”. Was Chinese raccoon dog, a poor little native creature bred in cages for a few months then very cruelly killed.

Lovely yarns and great show again. Good to hear your concern etc on the history of farming in Australia

This was such a fun video. 🥰🥰

Hi Ailsa was that a hand knit you had on in the podcast? I’m looking for something similar. 😁
It reminded me of the Harley sweater

Thanks for the info Ailsa. I enjoyed your latest podcast and hearing about the Bendigo gathering. 😁

Oh my goodness, what a shock! The 'raccoon' sounds like a very sad situation. I'm going to keep my eyes open for this kind of thing in the future.
