    After using the wrap to keep you warm at Bendigo, frog it if you think you wont wear it again. Truthfully, it reminds me of a dressing gown. Reuse the yarn and knit the Jenny Jacket by Petite Knits. It has a lovely pattern. Its next on my list. Maddie fm Fruity Knitting is currently knitting it. A nice knit is the Field sweater. Enjoy Bendigo. One day I will get there fm SA.

    The colour of the wrap is very good on you, but you are not happy with the result. Wouldn’t you rather unravel and use the exclusive yarn for a garment you will love to wear? It might be frustrating with the time you have spent knitting and modifying, but the wrap will perhaps end up unworn in your wardrobe? What about a cozy sweater or a simple, buttoned cardigan where the bulky yarn combination could blossom? I cannot help thinking that the designer has suggested a yarn combination far too bulky for a double edged wrap. Thank you for sharing :)

    • @Wearewoolpeople
      @Wearewoolpeople 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Kris! I’ve already frogged it completely once and I’m not confident the yarn will hold up to another frog. I hope I do get at least some wear out of it. I completely agree about the bulky yarn being not the best choice for the designer, particularly in the front.

    Colour looks great and I think the texture looks quite nice. Sometimes we get so close to our knits and when we have to fix things, it just becomes so difficult. I’m drawn to wraps but I also am not sure if I want all that bulk. Your mods make sense. Hope you have fun at Bendigo thanks for sharing, Karen 🥰

    I really don't think that the Magnum Opus garment knits/crochets are any worse, or really, are maybe even less work, than some of the big shawls, or wraps, or a blanket or afghan. For some reason, it just seems more daunting when it's a large garment. But people think nothing of starting a large non garment item. Maybe it's because our bodies change over time so there is the risk of it not fitting or suiting us after it is made, whereas it isn't an issue for a blanket or shawl. Your blanket is stunning.

    • @Wearewoolpeople
      @Wearewoolpeople 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree with you, the scope of a large project is so subjective. At the end of the day even the largest and most complex of makes are just a single stitch after another from beginning to end arent they?

Not sure if you already know of it, there is an app called knitting companion, it’s great for storing your patterns from Ravelry but what I love is you can write notes on the bottom of the pages and and there are row counters on the side to keep you on track. My first time here and I very much enjoyed listening/watching. I like your brioche top but I don not like knitting brioche. I only tried it once, fairly recently and I did get in a muddle. The sweater in red is beautiful though it wouldn't suit my colouring. I think that style of sleeve used to be called 'leg-of-mutton', or 'gigot'. I actually just googled it and they were fashionable in the 1830s and again in the 1890s. I also remember having a cardigan with similar style sleeves when I was in my early teens, that would be the early 1970s. It will certainly make a statement! I'm not a sock knitter but your socks are lovely. So is that lovely grey yarn! I am often tempted by gorgeous yarn without having a clue what I will make with it. Btw, I am in the UK, on the edge of the New Forest in the south of England.

      Hi Guilia, thanks for your comment. I hadn't thought of a cap sleeve I'll think about that option too. we did enjoy Canberra I thought it was a great event.
