Nice cards- seemed like many went a little high compared to other recent sales. I have a suggestion for another Top 10- do one for all the CIA Auctions. It would be interesting to see how his sales compare to the big established auction houses. Thanks.
I think this might be the greatest collection of athletes featured in any top ten so far. You have the greatest players in all four major sports: Jordan, Gretzky, Ruth, and Brady. Then you have Kobe, Mahomes, Rose, DiMaggio, and Ohtani. Not too shabby when the bottom 5 athletes have combined for 21 championships and counting!
Great video, as always! My great uncle had a Seals team set of Zeenut cards. I held both Joe DiMaggio cards in my hand. One with a bat and the one with him throwing, both with the coupons still attached. I am hoping my cousin still has them.
Here me out on this...I don't think autographed cards should be on lists like this. Often the auto holds most of the value and not the card itself. Suppose if I had gotten by 1969 Topps Bernie Allen card autographed by John Lennon and it sold for $20,000, would it qualify? I'd love to hear you say..."This is Bernie Allen's first appearance on High Rollers...welcome Bernie!".
You are awesome.I just don't know how to sell my cards.I learned so much from books however it's the grading,ex.wrong year on a baseball card and also the full poster where he was not on the correct team.Hey bud thanks.
that gretzky looks like a Topps 9 and its an OPC? crazy. It looks WAY nicer than the 3.75 million dollar OPC PSA 10. what a deal. the prices people pay for the grade and not the card are insane.
Has there ever been a card produced by the manufacturer with an auto that has NOT come back PSA/DNA certified? Doesn't PSA/DNA cert cost extra? Do they do this because the particular subject could have someone else sign for them? What makes PSA an authority on autos by the way? Just trying to understand.
So there are 50 of the gold Ohtani auto …. And countless others that are similar …. But it outsells the massively rare and lone autographed Joe D that’s 90 years old. Wtf.
If you are a collector and like vintage you really have to Love that 1933 Dimaggio card, just wow. Yah Ohtani is The Man right now. If they just let him play--no Pitch, forget the Pitch he might actually Be The man. The 2nd year card of these 60's Top Players like Rose are way better then the 4 type Rookie head cards. Just saying.
It's not really fair to compare Pete Rose sales before his death to after his death and call them 'quite high' now. More like the new normal. There are no recent sales that I'm seeing of his '64 Topps in a PSA 9 after his death. Most of his cards got ~25% boost due to his death. Given that and that there are multiple sales within' the last year and a half in the $30k + range it's no surprise to see it go for $42k.
Hey Chris SeaWall... 😅 Am I the only one? Anyway. A few years ago you kinda sorta hinted at ohtani rookies were a good future investment... you were 💯 correct lol. My only regret is I didn't pick up more. I did get several base cards for under 10 bucks and a couple numbers ... /250 and /99
I think these regular/high roller videos are valuable for the hobby. I wish you would post these more regularly again.
You are the only youtuber who does not try to snow their audience into thinking they have no vested interest in something they are shilling.
Chris bringing the Ken McMullen love!!! That '64 Rose is a blazer!!!
I love how McMullen is nowhere in sight, but Chris makes sure the masses hear the message!
Geez, that Rose looks like it would give you a papercut it's so sharp. Spectacular for a 9.
It's amazing seeing what card collecting has become over the years. Graded cards have just blown up everything. Crazy!
Love seeing the old cards in mint 9 condition, awesome to see that some people kept them in such stellar condition
Great video like always. Hope you’re well, my friend.

Thanks Chris!
I like the '64 Rose. Mr McMullen, is a big reason, that the '63 over shadows it.

Interesting observation!
That Mahomes card should’ve sold for a lot more. That’s a beautiful looking card

Very cool! Fingers crossed that he still has them

Was that Kobe slabbed upside down by PSA? The text on the label and the autograph are facing in opposite directions. "You had one job . . ."
That Rose is a beauty. Bet the others that sold in the 20s werent as nice.
I sold all my Ohtani cards from 2018 to 2020 for $60. A total of 12 to 15 cards. All raw grade. ✌️
I didn't plan on eating celery today, but I watched this, and now I have to.
The perforation for the coupon on the Joe D. took a chunk of the photo.
Love that 64 Rose, finally able to get out from under McMullen’s shadow
How many "1/1" were actually released to the public versus in-company prints given ONLY to insiders? What a tax-free bonus, if so (or likely).

I wonder if some of these ultra-moderns will sell for half price or worse in a few years, as the Brady did.

PSA put the Kobe auto card in the slab upside down!!!!!!!!
That Gretzky rookie looks better than some jagged edge 9s. Doesn't a 10 also have a jagged edge?
Agreed!
Yes you are correct… would never grade a 10 by their standards today.
The jagged edge comes from the cutting process used by OPC. Not having any jagged edge would make me very nervous about trimming.
Do you have any openings in the blazer division? Eat your Cheetos and Doritos please.
Cia?
BOOM!

We have a winner!
Ohtani is goat.
Psa can't even spell name correct! Geez....

Nice! I actually don't remember that :)
Literally just finished eating a vegetable right before watching this video! 👍👍🥬🥬
