Absolutely agree with this! I basically think only in terms of "light/dark" and "how fast does it sink". I tie basically two different versions of eggs at diff sink rates and in three colors, and two swung streamer patterns in a light and dark version with different size barbell eyes. All told I basically only ever have four different patterns in my box that can be chosen for sunny/ cloudy days or clear/stained water...and for whatever flow rate is in front of me. Most days I think I could really just use two patterns with those variation options. "Simplify....simplify....simplfy!"
Double the chance of hooking? Some people won’t have doubles on the argument that the two hooks will lever each other loose. This seems logical. I haven’t a vaste experience of salmon fishing, but I’ve found they stay on ok. The extra weight may help them get under the surface.

Used to bring everything in my tackle I have my choice keep getting more narrow I know what mostly need in my waters
