  • Salmon Fishing UK with Damon. Catching a surprise on the river Tyne in Northumberland.
    As no doubt some viewers will know, fishing for these migratory spectacles can be tricky at the best of times, particularly with a fly rod but in this video Damon simplifies some of his proven tactics for success.

    Excellent video. Great work by Patrick as usual. I know from my own experience how good his videography is when he filmed myself and him on the River Ruel for Afar Fishing.

    How hard is it to find fishing access in the UK? I have been told that it is extremely difficult and prohibitively expensive. I'd love to visit some time and try and catch some *Salmos* instead of *Oncorhynchus*

      Do your research on fishing spots and you will be fine!

      Hi I fish in Scotland/uk, wild trout fishing where I am is very cheap in Scotland especially in lochs/lakes but good salmon fishing is very expensive, but it depends where you are and what river you are on but do some research first.

      Irs not hard at all. In the highlands of Scotland even the big rivers like the Spey have club waters that are reasonably priced. Pick a river and find the club and you'll pay 30-50 a day for salmon fishing.

      @speedbird1598 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kennethmorton7671 Extremely expensive compared to the 50 dollars per year I pay in Washington State, but pretty reasonable for a tourist. I look forward to one day releasing a wild Atlantic Salmon or Sea Trout

      @@speedbird1598 if you wanted to spend a week on one river you might be better buying an associate membership. These are usually a bit cheaper than paying for 6 days separately. Also some have a trade on with other clubs where it doesn't cost extra to fish on their water. An inverness angling club permit for example would cost you 150. It gets you fishing on the Conon, Beauly, Ness, Dee, Don and a few other smaller rivers. So you could come stay for two weeks fish your way round the permitted rivers and it would cost 150.

    Love your skill in spey casting but I can't help thinking that all the flashing around could disturb fish/

    If you focus more on actually fishing instead of doing a bunch of show off casts you will catch more fish, just saying. The show of casts are for casting classes, not for fishing.....

    • @DamonValentineFishing
      @DamonValentineFishing 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I disagree. I actually think if he’d have done more fancy casts like the snake roll, snap - T or snap - C then he’d have probably caught more fish. Haven’t you seen “A River Runs Through It”? #shadowcasting
