Hello Daniel! Thank you for this heartfelt video. You're using Seigler BF here. The internet writes very different things about this reel, both good and bad. What is your opinion about this reel? Thanks

It´s possible to use a single hand fly rod? And in that case which number and line types do you recommend?

Yeah it is! It's just a little hard in some places, due to the high vegitation later in the season :)
I would go with a 10' #8, and Scientific Anglers Spey Lite Skagit Integrated WF - INT, with a couple of deep sinking tips (4-8)

Hi,is there any private fishery on the river Skjern where you need a permit or just a Danish fishing licence

    • @NordicAnglers
      @NordicAnglers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Everything in river Skjern is "Private" water. You need a licence to the specific stretch of water, you wish to fish :)
You can find the different licences here en.fiskekort.dk/fiskespots?q=skjern

Sorry, but I am very disappointed of this video.
You told absolutely (ok, almost) NOTHING about salmonfishing!
All you said are basic rules, which apply to all kinds of fishing:
Do your research, be a decent person, take proper gear and learn how to handle it.
Nothing, a experienced angler wouldn´t already know...
(I assume, your main audience are expierienced anglers, who are just new into salmonfishing, like myself)
I´d like to hear about the fishing itself:
For me salmon seems to be very different to "normal" fishes, because they are only travelers.
What weather conditions would you prefer (water level)?
What times a day should I NOT miss, and when is "safe" to take a longer lunch break?
What are the typical hot spots?
How do you fish at these places? (e.g. upstream or downstream)
Do you test several different flies on one spot, or do should i just trust one (or very few) recommended flies and keep on fishing?
What kind of gear do I really need to get started? (Which of my rods/lines might be usable)
What line types should I have?
    What leader/tippet should I choose?
    (...)
    Sooo many questions...
I`d really love to hear you talk about these kind of things!

      Hi!
Thanks for your comment! Sorry you are dissapointed in the video. The general idea for this video, is all the questions new salmon anglers have, before even arriving at the river. We have experienced, that the danish salmon fishing isn't always easy to experience for non locals. Because of the many rules and regulations, that also differs from river to river..
We have made a complete series about the fishing in particular, in danish rivers :) you can find it here (part 1/3) - th-cam.com/video/dGC6am6ycis/w-d-xo.html
These videoes will cover all the questions you have above (more os less..)
      I hope this helps :)

@@NordicAnglers Thanks for your answer! This series was exactly, what i was looking for!
Don´t get me wrong: This is a very good and important video, too!
I only was disappointed, because the title didn´t fit (I´d rather call it "10 basic rules") and I always waited for the part you talk about the fishing itself.
But I know, the TH-cam almost forces content creators to use clickbait titles and this costs me way to much lifetime...
I watched many of your tying videos and they all were great:
I always feel, how much heart-blood you put into your fishing and I love it!
(If I should travel to Denmark one day, I will visit your shop and leave a few krones (or even a few more then I should affort😂) , for sure)
Even having emigrated to Norway years ago, I´m still hesitating to start riverfishing for salmon, because it is kind of a big investment and this fish is still a mystery to me.
But after finding your channel again, I´m sure I will find enough information, that I will give it a try next season!
