That compressor looks like nothing was done to it. I love a job where the parts are painted back like new and it looks and runs like new. Very conscientious craftsmanship, for sure!
There's something about the sound of the old turquois 06s, v/ the newer gray ones...the aluminum pistons just don't have the sound of the old ones did, NOR do they put up with slugging

mikhaiel j thank you. If the compressor motor is shorted I was replaced the compressor. Usually a motor will ground out due to a mechanical issue. Maybe the compressor has bad bearings as well which caused it burn up the motor. They sell remanufactured compressor which will save some money.
Thanks man. I'm pretty sure it's a small leak. I didn't fix it. I might have too soon. They are Testo smart probes. I like them because I can close the door and check my pressures and temps.
Any one working on this types of compressor’s please purge your lines before you hook up and start opening the king valves, they don’t like air at all they go boom, shrapnel all over the place. Reefer tech 10 years. Now doing baby walk-in coolers and freezers.
Nice job. You think it was pumping oil or was the oil from the discharge gas that was leaking by the gasket? Good thing you got to that thing before a piston ended up in the crankcase.
That was from the unloader side. The gasket was in good shape so was the valve plate. I put a new gasket on that side. That cylinder was all copper plated.
was wondering if unloader was ok .if the compressor blew a gasket,it may have slugged oil.if compressor lost its pumping capacity,the unloader could not work properly.unloader would come into play with low suction.

Looked to me like u had double gaskets on that valve cover. Should be one under the valve plate and one on top that’s it. You had that and another on the valve cover. The one on the cover isn’t needed you already had one on the top of valve plate. Did I view this wrong?
I have a older identical unit like this, my suction pressure needle pegs out ( very high suction pressure ) would this possibly be same issue that you had , bad plate gasket ?
He probably pinched off the suction service valve and one that’s how you can test a suction cut off and loader. I like them. If you start closing the suction line valve you’ll start to trap the suction pressure then it’ll unload

Wow they used that same design condensor for a really long time. I have a church with these same units from 1981

The app does the calculations for you when your gauged up

Yes very much you might be worse. You might have to replace all the valve plates on all three cylinders
how accurate are those transducers and can you calibrate them?
fudogchomp they are actually pretty accurate. You cannot calibrate them. They do that before they ship them off. They come with a calibration sheet.
