That's because Nina Dobrev was basically only born in Bulgaria, so she probably isn't familiar with the everyday language, and is probably not entirely fluent either.

If it's any consolation, some of te Spanish words are also not slang, or very specific regional terms (some of them I've never heard of xD)

So how is brat and nazdrave slang, they're normal words in like 5-6 slavic countries and have the same meaning as in bulgarian

@@jesseterrell9354 I can tell you that European countries are all very different in terms of language, religion, culture, history, wealth...The EU only allows to have a single currency and helps with trade and travel, that's it.

Subtiles at the beginning: [European Music]. Like, what the heck? Music across Europe is often insanely different. It only sounds the same nowadays bc everyone adopted the American music styles...except maybe for Southeastern Europe. The Ottoman musical features really stuck there.

For those of you watching with English subtitles: Alicia Wikander is actually saying “cow on the ice”, not “cow in the eyes”. Pretty funny mistranslation though.

So when going to IKEA and leaving the kids in Smaland, we're leaving them in a small state of their own. Neat
It`s also a play on words because smaland literally translates to `little land`
It also happens to be the region where Ikea was founded. It's known for agriculture, uprisings (historically) and people being very cheap.

Reminds me of some Dutch slang, like “don’t drag dead cows out of the ditch” (don’t do something pointless, don’t keep bringing up stuff we already discussed ad nauseam” something like that
She's saying "there's no cow on the ice" you translated it to "there's no cow in the eyes"

Instead of "Eres un encogio" we say "Eres bien agarrado"
"que chulo" we use the same phrase

“Nazdrave” xD Goooood, this is plain translation and not much slangy, on top of it all you’ll find like 10 or 20 countries that have a variation of this xD But hey, na zdrowie! XD
You should add Icelandic to this and get some really strange sentences.

Snygg in sweden looks like the word “stygg” in norwegian which means “ugly”😂 I understood all the swedish, danish and spanish because spanish is my first language but I grew up in norway😂
And stygg means bad/naughty in Swedish haha :)
