I must confess I didn't wait for a review, because i was sold on it during the Indie world Direct : music, ambiance, design, gameplay... It's rare I buy a game at this price (more than 20€) without reading or viewing a review... but I jumped into it ... and so far so good... but it's always nice to see I didn't made a mistake :-) Love the indian vibes of this game, a nice change from the 1001 nights (but still, I , as many others, would like a new Prince of Persia)
The thing I like the most on the games with art style and details about ones country is when people from that said country work on it so we can get genuine info and not interpretation or fragments. Btw...just placed the order on Amazon for AC:NH...so...I wanna see if that will charm me as it did with so much people. Cheers lads !

I really like this game. The core is good but it's a little rough around the edges. Overall I think visuals are stunning, the combat is excellent while platforming is competent. Could use a little more meat like more items and NPCs and intractable environments, but like I said, I think the core is solid.
I haven't played but by observing a couple of let's plays, I think the worldbuilding and storytelling also struggle a bit. It doesn't feel organic even though the idea of the gods discussing the plot as it happens isn't bad, perse. But, definitely, the art is stunning

I dropped a quick holy s comment after seeing your title here because I just bought the game without seeing a review first. It dropped unannounced and someone said it gave them an early GOW vibe. My style of game for certain and the visuals were beautiful at a quick glance. As soon as I started playing it didnt give me the same GOW vibe. Rather an early POP vibe. Which I was just as happy with. I was having trouble with controls. Some trouble hitting the right spot for a pole attack. That got better. The more I play the more beautiful the game looks and plays. I really dont regret the price at all. Like my first boss said told me, If a customer complains about the price you tell 'em the product is so good it would be a bargain at twice the price. Cheers everyone.
I like this format for you guys being able to react a bit quicker to indi games comming out of nowhere, not having to go through the hoops of minutely rating every aspect of it and giving it a bunch of abstract numbers for those ratings.
I love the game so far. The graphics, music, voice acting and story are very engaging. My only complaint is that on the handheld mode, I can't see the legend on the screen that describes what the buttons are used for (i.e. where you select the abilities of the weapon).
The game is epic, and so is the backstory of the game design. Must check that as well. Very proud of this game, it sets a benchmark for future mainstream game development in India. Great review video btw (end credits 👌)
Was already interested in this game when they initially launched their Kickstarter. Backed it, but the Kickstarter was cancelled later due to lack of pledges. Am so happy that the game managed to get sponsored and completed.

Yeah I’m pretty happy with this one. I had to restart it a few times just to see that beautiful opening again. I have had only one freeze so far and that was my fault I suppose for going to the home screen too many times (my wife kept asking me RL questions, lol)
Why is such little love given to games based off Mythology? There are so many cool world mythologies with rich lore and stories but so few video games based on them. The only ones which get some love are Greek and Norse, but even they are so sparse. Would be awesome to see more games on Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabian, Egyptian, Aztec/Mayan mythologies - and I'm sure there are other rich mythologies which I haven't even listed. This is a step in the right direction though, as is Ubisoft's Immortals and the mythology GOAT God of War which is still going strong.
The story and atmosphere of this game is fantastic. I have a minor grip with the combat, however. When facing > 3 enemies at a time, they are constantly interrupting my attacks and a lot of the time I can’t get an attack off with being interrupted to the point that I die. It’s frustrating to say the least.
I actually studied this kind of puppet theater it is called wayang (in its indonesian form) and is part of a series of old cultural arts from asian countries. Totally cool that they included this. I love it when games add a cultural point in the story
Yh it's based off an Indian puppet art form from Rajasthan. A lot of aspects of this game aren't exactly ancient Indian but still this is very traditional. Ancient Indian would include a lot more buddhist influence on the game since Buddhism was born in and defined Ancient India.

I kinda hate how new games have been doing that. As a developer I couldnt imagine making nice visuals just for them to be super tiny on screen but I'm not a developer lol. The tiny characters just makes me feel like I'm outside of the game and not inside of it

Loving this new series. It's just enough info to get a good taste of the game, and I love the extra variety it will add to the channel. As for Raji, I'm super interested in this game. Indian culture just doesn't seem to be very represented in games, and I'd love to get lost in this atmosphere and music. I would like a bit of a graphical update before I buy though, or a physical release.

Really lived that time frame when Dante's Inferno came out. We got Bayonetta, Dark Siders, and Dante's Inderno all at the same time and they were amazing. Loved how they each had a slightly different style so switching between then didn't feel repetitive even though they were all action games.

EDIT - The title has been changed from “shall I get a refund” to “keep or refund”. From the original title -> I personally think the title sets too much of a negative tone. The e shop is full of trash but this small, unique indie game isn’t trash and if I made this game I’d be absolutely gutted with that title to showcase to your number of subscribers. Good intent or not, to an generation who, lets be honest, skip most videos content and don’t watch to the end, this would appear like you want to refund the game. The e shop won’t clean its act up if channels speak up, so the title ends up bashing the game to people who don’t watch it all, which could be hundreds or even thousands.
I agree, but I love the concept and I think it is still an informative video!, considering how there were a bunch of indie games dropped all at once and the fact that the games covered in the series so far have been really short anyway. I'd suggest renaming this series to something like "First Impressions" to remove any unintended negative connotation! :)
Sadly I have to agree with you because that was my immediate impression from the thumbnail and I was really looking forward to this game so when I saw the thumbnail I was like oh great another shit game. But i do like concept for this video but maybe don't make such a negative thumbnail and just explain the concept clearly at the beginning of the video? 🤔
I’m sure as we develop it we can tweak it some have suggested KEEP or REFUND as an option but regardless this series for me needed to happen. The eshop is a mess and nobody holds the developers to account when they release broken games that get a guaranteed 8/10 from places. In a world where marketing and “getting in front of people” Is more important than any other marketing pillar, putting even the smallest of negatives is huge for small devs, especially in a game that’s good and clearly had a lot of effort put into it. The title openly questions a refund on the game and with your huge numbers I’d say it could damage it. Like you say, I’d prefer a more neutral title as you may have to do this for a trash game that really would warrant a refund.
I played this a little more than three hours today. At some point the framerate drops did become rather annoying as well as some of the enemies being a real pain but overall I have a lot of fun with it so I wouldn't refund it either. If someone is on the fence with this one I'd still say wait for a patch or at least a full review with more info on the whole game.
I thought I was being paranoid with those frame drops and enemies during combat but yeah it does get really annoying... Still enjoying the setting... Would love if they drop a patch to stabilise frame rate during the latter areas where there are like 6-9 enemies at once...

I think it's worth it. The combat is actually more varied then I expected and the world is beatiful. Only complaint I have right now is the world can feel a bit empty at times but I'm not done yet, only a few hours in. So we'll see.
I haven't minded the world feeling empty in this game for some reason. Perhaps because you are led down a path for the most part I haven't noticed it as much. Glen
That combat system looks pretty interesting combining the parkour with your attacks, surprised that hasn't been done often enough for me to remember another game like that. Not having to play your cookie cutter white bread gruff guy you used to get in games left and right during the 360 era is a plus too.
I'm really interested in this but £25 and it's only 5 hours long, there are other games in that price range that I'd be more tempted to get. This will be another one on the wishlist.

I picked this up and I'm a little on the fence after 2 hours. The world seemed pretty empty and the platforming kinda tedious but the combat was fun. Very curious to hear your thoughts🤔💭

Great game, beautiful locations. I encountered minor problem witch switching weapons from the weapons menu. Fortunately this can be resolved by using shortcut buttons.
The music, the cutscenes and the environmental design is PHONEMENAL in this game. The last 30 minutes gave me so much goosebumps. Especially the last location is incredible. The combat and the voice acting can be repetitive at times, but who cares. This is a feast of Indian mythology.

I love so much this channel but I want to leave a feedback: I think you don't need this kind of title 😅 you are awesome already. I understand catchy titles help for the views but I would prefer something more positive like "is it good?" or perhaps, "is it bad or good?" , but the word "refund" is a bit... Cheers Srod - I know it may have some negative connotations but I strongly believe this series will act as a real service to the community. As it stand the Nintendo Eshop is one of the only places where refunds are not available. There is so much shovelware now - this series will very rarely be saying to refund unless a game releases that is broken in some way or incredibly lazy. I think it’s important that developers know that this type of series exists and work hard not to release broken games. I hope this makes sense? Really appreciate the feedback!

The game is epic, and so is the backstory of the game design. Must check that as well. Very proud of this game, it sets a benchmark for future mainstream game development in India. Great review video btw (end credits 👌)
Was already interested in this game when they initially launched their Kickstarter. Backed it, but the Kickstarter was cancelled later due to lack of pledges. Am so happy that the game managed to get sponsored and completed.
They finally managed it but unfortunately one of the developer had to sell his apartment for finishing it. I know they will prove themselves with this game!

Yeah I’m pretty happy with this one. I had to restart it a few times just to see that beautiful opening again. I have had only one freeze so far and that was my fault I suppose for going to the home screen too many times (my wife kept asking me RL questions, lol)

Why is such little love given to games based off Mythology? There are so many cool world mythologies with rich lore and stories but so few video games based on them. The only ones which get some love are Greek and Norse, but even they are so sparse. Would be awesome to see more games on Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabian, Egyptian, Aztec/Mayan mythologies - and I'm sure there are other rich mythologies which I haven't even listed.
This is a step in the right direction though, as is Ubisoft's Immortals and the mythology GOAT God of War which is still going strong.
The Greek Pantheon is almost extinct. People are killing Olympians in the games.
The story and atmosphere of this game is fantastic. I have a minor grip with the combat, however. When facing > 3 enemies at a time, they are constantly interrupting my attacks and a lot of the time I can’t get an attack off with being interrupted to the point that I die. It’s frustrating to say the least.
I actually studied this kind of puppet theater it is called wayang (in its indonesian form) and is part of a series of old cultural arts from asian countries. Totally cool that they included this. I love it when games add a cultural point in the story
Yh it's based off an Indian puppet art form from Rajasthan. A lot of aspects of this game aren't exactly ancient Indian but still this is very traditional. Ancient Indian would include a lot more buddhist influence on the game since Buddhism was born in and defined Ancient India.

Been waiting for this game ever since it was revealed on PS4. Nice to hear thoughts on Switch though. As someone of Indian descent, there aren't as many video games that cover Hindu mythology, so this game seemed to scratch that itch a bit. Not sure about the constant narration though.
I like this series idea "would i refund". It's helpful. It makes more sense than a numerical system.

I kinda hate how new games have been doing that. As a developer I couldnt imagine making nice visuals just for them to be super tiny on screen but I'm not a developer lol. The tiny characters just makes me feel like I'm outside of the game and not inside of it

As for Raji, I'm super interested in this game. Indian culture just doesn't seem to be very represented in games, and I'd love to get lost in this atmosphere and music. I would like a bit of a graphical update before I buy though, or a physical release.

Really lived that time frame when Dante's Inferno came out. We got Bayonetta, Dark Siders, and Dante's Inderno all at the same time and they were amazing. Loved how they each had a slightly different style so switching between then didn't feel repetitive even though they were all action games.

@@chompachangas it is a style of shadow puppetry named Toalpava Kuthu (leather doll dance) in India...it's origin is in the Indian state of Kerala....🤗 It's named differently in different states so it doesn't have a single name ...for eg in Andhra Pradesh (another Indian state)it is called Todale Gombe-atta the figures are called chikka....

EDIT - The title has been changed from “shall I get a refund” to “keep or refund”.
From the original title -> I personally think the title sets too much of a negative tone. The e shop is full of trash but this small, unique indie game isn’t trash and if I made this game I’d be absolutely gutted with that title to showcase to your number of subscribers. Good intent or not, to an generation who, lets be honest, skip most videos content and don’t watch to the end, this would appear like you want to refund the game. The e shop won’t clean its act up if channels speak up, so the title ends up bashing the game to people who don’t watch it all, which could be hundreds or even thousands.
I agree, but I love the concept and I think it is still an informative video!, considering how there were a bunch of indie games dropped all at once and the fact that the games covered in the series so far have been really short anyway. I'd suggest renaming this series to something like "First Impressions" to remove any unintended negative connotation! :)
Sadly I have to agree with you because that was my immediate impression from the thumbnail and I was really looking forward to this game so when I saw the thumbnail I was like oh great another shit game. But i do like concept for this video but maybe don't make such a negative thumbnail and just explain the concept clearly at the beginning of the video? 🤔
I’m sure as we develop it we can tweak it some have suggested KEEP or REFUND as an option but regardless this series for me needed to happen. The eshop is a mess and nobody holds the developers to account when they release broken games that get a guaranteed 8/10 from places. I’m sure we can work and tweak but the overall bluntness is important for me. Mark

In a world where marketing and “getting in front of people” Is more important than any other marketing pillar, putting even the smallest of negatives is huge for small devs, especially in a game that’s good and clearly had a lot of effort put into it. The title openly questions a refund on the game and with your huge numbers I’d say it could damage it. Like you say, I’d prefer a more neutral title as you may have to do this for a trash game that really would warrant a refund.

I played this a little more than three hours today. At some point the framerate drops did become rather annoying as well as some of the enemies being a real pain but overall I have a lot of fun with it so I wouldn't refund it either.
If someone is on the fence with this one I'd still say wait for a patch or at least a full review with more info on the whole game.
I thought I was being paranoid with those frame drops and enemies during combat but yeah it does get really annoying... Still enjoying the setting... Would love if they drop a patch to stabilise frame rate during the latter areas where there are like 6-9 enemies at once...
I'll wait for full reviews of this - someone mentioned it is really short and it is a bit expensive.
There's a full gameplay already that's roughly three hours and a half.
A bit too short for my taste, even if it's rushed.

I think it's worth it. The combat is actually more varied then I expected and the world is beatiful. Only complaint I have right now is the world can feel a bit empty at times but I'm not done yet, only a few hours in. So we'll see.
I haven't minded the world feeling empty in this game for some reason. Perhaps because you are led down a path for the most part I haven't noticed it as much. Glen
That combat system looks pretty interesting combining the parkour with your attacks, surprised that hasn't been done often enough for me to remember another game like that. Not having to play your cookie cutter white bread gruff guy you used to get in games left and right during the 360 era is a plus too.

Great game, beautiful locations. I encountered minor problem witch switching weapons from the weapons menu. Fortunately this can be resolved by using shortcut buttons.

The music, the cutscenes and the environmental design is PHONEMENAL in this game. The last 30 minutes gave me so much goosebumps. Especially the last location is incredible. The combat and the voice acting can be repetitive at times, but who cares. This is a feast of Indian mythology.

I love so much this channel but I want to leave a feedback: I think you don't need this kind of title 😅 you are awesome already. I understand catchy titles help for the views but I would prefer something more positive like "is it good?" or perhaps, "is it bad or good?" , but the word "refund" is a bit... You know what I mean, right?. But if you are testing new titles, that's ok. From my point of view, I think it doesn't represent the chilling/relaxing experience of this channel.

Cheers Srod - I know it may have some negative connotations but I strongly believe this series will act as a real service to the community. As it stand the Nintendo Eshop is one of the only places where refunds are not available. There is so much shovelware now - this series will very rarely be saying to refund unless a game releases that is broken in some way or incredibly lazy. I think it’s important that developers know that this type of series exists and work hard not to release broken games. I hope this makes sense? Really appreciate the feedback!
