My dad is obsessed with getting fruit, and my parents always have bananas and grapes in, sometimes oranges, pears, apples etc. If my dad could, he’d live of strawberries and cream, and bananas. And potatoes as a good Irish man should. If me or my brother showed interest in some fruit in the shops, my mum put it in the trolley.
I feel sorry for Sam. Her husband is not supportive at all. I lost it when he directly looked at her saying "Sam" when the nutrition expert told them about the need of change in the eating habits. As if it's only her responsibility to make sure the kids are eating healthy - you know what I'm saying? Shout out to the expert who called him out and said he needed to back her up. I think its just her. I'm not saying teen pregnancy is okay, but it's the norm for my family. My grandparents, parents, me, and all my siblings all had kids in our teens. I'm 25 on my 4th baby. Anyway my point is we aren't irresponsible like these people. There is no way at all that she doesn't know the dangers of smoking by now. And the not cooking is just lazy.
@@Lazirus951Rephrase that. A LOT of people shouldn't be parents. As a preschool teacher, I’ve seen parents give their 2 and 3-year-olds potato chips when they first bring their children at 8:30-9 AM. My 7 year old never had a fizzy drink in his life! Poor Cuba has up to 6 cans of Cola a day and hes not even 2!?? Are you serious? What's wrong with these parents!??
Yeah my jaw dropped when they said that 🤯😨 a soda in a sippy cup 😱 I’m an adult and I don’t even drink 6 cans of soda in a year 😳 I’ve only had one soda last year
I knew someone who put Cola in her 15 mos old's bottle. She also fed the baby whole pieces of orange chicken and noodles from Panda Express. Pizza was introduced to them as soon as they could eat solid foods. Mind you, it was never cut up. I'm shocked none of them died. She has 4 now....by 3 different fathers.
33:00 Why on earth would you ever say "I'm scared of the dentist," in front of your child? I'm sorry for being so judgemental, but there is a LOT to judge in this video.
Don't your take away places have vegetables? McDonald's serves salads and apple slices. Not the best but healthier. The guy who said he doesn't have control over what his toddler eats...☠️ You buy the food. Why is the sweets cabinet ground level?
The sweets cabinet is toddler level so they don’t have to parent. Also, the kids are probably addicted to sugar, so this way the parents don’t have have to fight and tell their kids no.
Goodness! If you can't finish your food, pack your left overs inside a container and put in the fridge. Reheat/recook for the next day. Don't just throw it away. 🤦♀️
Another good idea is a pet scrap bucket. A small food bucket in the fridge where all the [touched] scraps go, and at the end of the day, it goes into the dog bowl. But yeah, don't throw it into the bin
I tend to have a "You can eat it now, or I can put it away for later" thing. If they aren't hungry right now, fighting won't help. But effectively telling them to starve causes a whole host of issues too. And even we as adults don't always feel hungry when we 'should' and often do when we 'Shouldn't'. When they are hungry, calmly get their food back. Refusal, calmly away. They know they can have food if they want it. That you are willing to provide it. The rest is up to them. Additionally, it needs to be a different ball game if they really do not like it. If they're gagging on a food instead of just not eating, then that's a no. Simple as that. They're humans too. Everyone has their stuff. Some more than others but it is what it is. For example very few in the UK would be able to stomach natto, or durian. And that's fine. 🤷🏻♀️
Don’t introduce processed food to babies….of course they won’t eat the healthy food. There is no need for a two year old to be eating a Big Mac. During the toddler age you should be allowing them to taste a variety of fruits and veggies.
@@saesmith1I mean it fully depends on the toddler. We made Pizza and Burger ourselves before, homemade I mean, making the patty from fresh mince, the pizza dough completely from scratch etc.. also homemade wedges and chips.. guess what, our daughter still prefers the other healthy dinner options and loves snacking on her veggies and fruit.
Parents are in total denial. They are responsible for what their children eat. They are too freaking lazy to prepare healthy meals, so they turn to take away. When you train your children too eat healthy, they don't wind up with rotten baby teeth, or become obese. Parents just don't want to admit their at fault, they remain in "DENIAL ". I feel for their children.
On the surface, I have to agree. There are a few other dynamics working, but the parents don't persevere. When it takes a child tasting something 15 times before ending up liking it, perseverance is a must.
The mother of the little boy Cuba saying she feels “a little bit guilty about his diet” he’s 19 months and drinks 6 cans of coke a day. U shouldn’t feel a little bit guilty, you should be ashamed of yourself!!!!!
Exactly, a can of coke has approx 40 grams of sugar. That means he’s consuming almost 240 grams of sugar or a quarter of a kilo a day. That is child abuse
@@alicerabbit8 yes, but to add: the artificial sweeteners that are now in sodas instead of sugar, are massively more harmful than sugar. So a diet like that is indeed disastrous for adults, and just deadly for children…
it blew my mind seeing these babies being pumped fill of coke. I wasn't allowed anywhere near coke/Mountain Dew and those types of drinks until I was like 12, and even then I was given maybe one at a restaurant or party but that was all. We got either water or milk and occasionally some juiced watered down and we were happy with those choices.
If you don’t introduce it to them in the first place then you don’t have a problem. Pretty simple. If you KNOW it’s bad, why teach your children to eat it? They can’t flip out for junk if they don’t know it exists 🤓
True. I took juice boxes for my children to drink at birthday parties when coke/sprite was being served. The day came when they both begged to have a soft drink. So, I emptied a sprite bottle and filled it with tonic. Neither asked for it again. Trickery? Yes, but both are in their late 20s and aside from a morning coffee, they only drink water. However, I can see that parents who are strapped for time might turn to quick, take-out meals. The easier part is saying "No" early on. It's a lot easier than enforcing it after 6+ months of eating whatever they want.
i feel for michael’s parents. the fear of losing ones child is a feeling on-one should experience .. however, all the more reason to keep that child as healthy as possible.
I saw an episode where an autistic teenage boy had got to eat only Yorkshirepudding. This was NOT enabled by his parents, but rather they allowed him because otherwise he really did not eat at all. He had learned from an early age to make them himself when the parents hade tried to refuse him for purpose of having him eat other food but was now old enough to grasp the importance of having more of nutrition. Don't know if something like such is going on with Michael if he is so tied to certain taste and/or texture.
I think Michael’s parents are trying but he’s a willful boy and most kids are. It’s all how you approach a child. My little cousin was a sickly baby too, and he got very attached to his mom. So when she went back to work, he got separation anxiety. He would only eat muffins, chicken nuggets, and pastina. So when I would babysit I’d make it a point to make what I gave him fun. Fruit was easy cuz it was sweet and I’d put it in fun shapes. Veggies he would eat cut into sticks, cuz he loved anything he could play with. And I let him choose. He could choose his vegetable and he could choose his fruit. But either way he ate fruit or vegetables.
That's a great approach for little ones, and I'll probably do that when I have children. I definitely love the shapes idea! And I think you're right. There should be a level of autonomy in the process. Offering choices of veg and fruit, and making it a game they can have fun with will most likely foster enjoyment in the foods. The child will be more likely to have them more often if it's fun and engaging.
Those are good ideas. With my kids we would have junk food on the weekends and once in awhile during the week or if we had a movie night. So i think they learned junk food is a special occasion food like cake yk it’s a treat for a special occasion or every now and again as a treat.
I have no control over what he eats. ... You are the parent. You control the money and what you buy. It's 100% your control in what your baby eats. Your 2 year old isn't jumping into his car and driving to KFC. When I was a child I only got fast food twice a month at the most, and my siblings and I never felt deprived. Heck, home cooked meal tastes better, especially the next day.
What I've experienced in the west the moment you introduce junk from a very young age they associate it with "safe and easy "foods and reject or consistently fight for what they want. My advice is to not introduce it in the 1st place, we all know it's garbage food. Wishing everyone the best
Haven't even watched this yet and I'm already disgusted. So sad I feel sorry for these children. I guess the parents have finally decided to seek help, better late than never
Soda was for birthday parties and Christmas but I don't remember when I tried it. Mum thinks 5/6 but it was lemonade in liquor glasses so we could do cheers with the grownups on special occasions. I'm still not massively into fizzy (hate coke, too strong chocolate water) but maybe had free reign to eat and drink junk like that about 13. I don't think anyone under 5 should try it and no fizzy with caffeine or allowed it more than celebrations till ten to thirteen/when kids can start to make their own better and worse choices with food (I made plenty of bad ones with other foods like carbs even if I don't get fizzy drink addiction). It freaks me out kids can even handle cola ect. I remember one Xmas party I was minding a 4yo while the adults had a bit of free time outside (14ish and I liked babysitting so not abuse lol I offered) and gave him a tiny bit of lemonade while we ate and it turned out it was hit first try and his mum was worried when I mentioned cos she'd tried to keep him away from it- and he hated it. I think the bubbles were too much of a sensory issue for him. How do little babies do it ffffff

I live in the US and I wish school lunches here were done the same way they do in Japan, in Japan, all their food is grown fresh, often at or near the school and is brought to the cooks in the cafeteria daily. The cooks decide on what's going to be on the menu and they never have the same thing more then once a month, it's always something different every day. In some schools the older children are even taken on outings to help pick the vegetables that are prepared for them, if we had that kind of thing in US schools, we'd be a lot better off.
@@simon_wiggle_fan yes! Apparently some schools now have fast food chains INSIDE the cafeteria! I remember being overweight and deciding to eat a healthy salad - and the salad cost $1 more than the pizza and tater tots. We were living paycheck to paycheck as it was, so I didn't want to burden my father by eating more expensive food. Salad became a treat for me because of that. It's so wrong. Parents need to be responsible for their children's health including food. Schools are for teaching academics and we need every moment in the day for academics.
It didn't work for me and it doesn't work for me. I am not an unhealthy person but I rather starve myself than eating something I don't like. But good I am not a picky eater
My kids are now 27 and 23. Both were brought up on healthy home cooked food, the odd treat and fizzy pop was for Christmas and birthdays. They complained that we lived in an ingredient only household and had to make something from scratch if we wanted it. Both grown up really into sports and healthy living, my daughter is mainly vegetarian (plus eggs and a little fish occasionally). I may not have been the best mom in the world but I think I got the feeding bit right. Oh and my daughter was a teenage mum and she is the best mum in the world.
How wanting praise for yourself with your meals 😂yet your daughter is a teen mom and fake vegetarian… no hate but just odd of you. We are all imperfect just watch the video ❤
My main question is: If they don't like cooking, why don't they give their kids (like the toddlers over 2 years old) some Instant porridge, grapes, blueberries, raspberries a lick of yoghurt or some baby carrots and such "pre cut" veggies with a hummus dip. I mean it's still not a warm meal but its WORLDS better than giving them Chips and doner meat and Chicken nuggets and all the sweets? I get it that motherhood can be stressful but even if they need take away foods during weeknights they could make the other meals and snacks healthier. Unbelievable.
Growing up we only ever had happy meals on our birthdays! My parents had four kids including me so it was four take outs a year! (mostly because we were poor, but it was for our benefit that we weren't treated like mad)
When I was in Germany in 1978, I got on the military bus, as my brother was stationed over there, and American women were giving their 6 month old babies Orange Crush to drink, The Germans and Greeks their were like, (I wish I could kill them NOW!) I was shocked.
THIS really angers me, the mothers saying while shaking their heads, " He love fish and chips" like he went out and bought it on his own. Children need fruits and vegies, well cooked meats, home made sweets, fresh juices, milk, NOT grease, salt and sugar. You ruin their health and think it is CUTE to see them eat this unhealthy food. Soft drinks, Oh my. My children were in elementary school when they had their first soft drink.
“I have no control over what he eats” you are his father who decides what he eats daily and he is a baby who can’t talk, barley walk, or make decisions for himself. You have FULL control over what he eats
My niece would only eat chicken nuggets when she was growing up. Now she is growing out - at 22 she struggles with her weight. She was refused entry into the military because of her size (whatever that implies). Her mother did not believe in vegetables. Sadly, she has a life-long struggle ahead.
I am disgusted thinking about Taylor and when the nutritionist said about healthier food and saving her money she said yes if it means I can get myself more things not her child that disgusted me I know she is still a teenager but she got pregnant which means she has to deal with all that comes with motherhood to be honest my sister was a mother at 19 and my niece loves her veg and fruit because my sister made her eat them so age as a mum isn't the problem she doesn't see a problem feeding him the way she eats whereas the rest of the parents know they are in the wrong for feeding their kids the wrong foods and give into what the kids want to eat
My son started off on broccoli and mashed potatoes with a little gravy or cream cheese. They will eat what you start them off on. These parents are useless, no wonder the kids have behavioural problems.
@@danielle4295 i think your comment is way more useless than these parents. Parents need to ‘wake up’ and to be educated. Everyone is seeking for help in this world of love. Anyways, you watched this to curse on parents? Parents eat unhealthy and kid eat along. Teach parents to eat healthy- kid will eat healthy too!
I was born in Ucraine and as kid I ate a lot of buckwheat porridge, sometimes during summertime I lived on fresh cottage cheese mixed with sour cream, salads made of tomatoes, cucumbers and radish.
I am a mother of two. Fortunately our kids were not spoiled with junk food. Kids will eat when they are hungry. Kids will eat what's in front of them if they know they don't have another choice. I learned that growing up with 6 siblings. There was no choice of food, no one asked us kids what we like for dinner and no one cares if you don't like something on the table. I remember my sister had a friend who was the only child and her Mom kept complaining that her daughter didn't want to eat ( I am sure the mother asked her only child what she wanted for dinner everyday). My Mom said to the mother," Bring your daughter to our house and have dinner with my kids(7of us)." She did come for a while and ate with us, no problem. My response to the kid in the video who didn't want to eat his dinner and want something else is : ignore him, clean up the table and put him to bed as if nothing happens. If he cries hungry, tell him that just for this time, he can have another chance to eat his old dinner, next time, he's going to bed hungry.
It has nothing to do with the number of children in the family, but with parenting principles. I grew up as an only child in family, but I ate what was brought to the table, and it didn't occur to me to make whims and scenes at the table (or at all). My friend's two children, on the other hand, were real Suppenkaspers, as the Germans say, picky eaters - and their mother indulged their whims like a servant.
My two year old has had maybe 6 sips of soda his whole life. Does he love it? Yes. Do I give it to him? No. Don’t offer bad foods and it won’t be a problem!!
@basicallybet This is just factually incorrect. There is no nutritional value in a lot of junk food, otherwise known as 'empty calories.' ALL ultra processed food is 'bad.' Obesity, inflammation, heart disease, diabetes, a laundry list of problems caused by ultra processed foods and the companies that prioritise profits over human health. Though judging by your other comments about how these parents are doing good because they're stopping their children from starving, you're probably a lost cause.
Harleys mom was the worst, she denied the kid a pear when the kid asked for it and said he liked it....Michaels parents would have LOVED for him to do that!!! Even Cuba’s mom made pasta, where Harleys mom wouldn’t make pasta “cuz it takes ages to make”....which, WHAT?! It takes 15 minutes!!! She had every excuse because she wanted to eat the fast food junk.
I thought the dad giving his kids all those cakes and biscuits at one time and sabotaging their healthy eating process the worst. That was really sickening.
@@great10toes40 He’s assuming that the kids were separated from their parents because of the bad food habits. Honestly, this definitely seems like a stretch to make sense in the context
Sugar was my gateway drug - the first substance I abused. Watch children promissed some sugary treat. Observe the build-up and the satisfaction - that shine in their eyes is the thrill of an addict.
My 7 year old gets maybe 4 cans of soda a YEAR. One at Thanksgiving, one at Christmas, one on his birthday and maybe a random one at a summer bbq or a birthday party. He doesn’t even get fruit juice. It’s milk and water since he was born. Children need nutrients, not sugar.
Same for me, didn’t know what soda was until I was 13 at a friend’s house .. my parents never brought that home 😂. And when I tasted it I didn’t like it. My favorite ´sweet drink ´ is still orange/cucumber smoothie that my mom used to make. And that was what I got for a reward
"You're not the problem, your little brother is the problem". I'm paraphrasing but really? I'm pretty sure it's the parents that are the problem, not the 19 month old toddler.
what gets me is these kids are only additcted to these foods because their parents introduced them. No healthy food can compare to processed food, it is designed to be nice and addictive.
It´s weird, how this can be in TV, while in my country (Slovakia) this parents would have their kid probably taken by social service for neglecting their diet...
At least in the US, I don’t know about the UK, but they basically see the fact that you are providing your kid with food and shelter and not outright abusing them as a good enough reason not to take them away. It’s sad.
For the parents like ones above the chips shop- get a kids plate with a suction pad on it so kid cannot throw it. Secondly just leave the kid to eat. If they don’t eat, they don’t eat. Once they are hungry they will eat. If they loose a little weak gut at first so what the kid is probably over eight with all that junk. Do NOT give in. It’s healthy or nothing. Leave kids to explore their food don’t try forcing it down them.
@JJ-gr9yz I'm not talking about kids with genuine medical problems. I'm talking about toddlers who are just being demanding fussy eaters. If a child genuinely has a medical problem, then yes, I'd approach in a totally different way, but none of these kids did. They were just fussy controlling kids with parents who gave in to them. Also, denying kids junk is absolutely fine. No kids should be eating junk food. My parents were brought up with a - you eat what you are given or you don't get dinner. I don't mind if kids don't like the odd thing. But no kid should be refusing every healthy thing and only consuming rubbish.
@@JJ-gr9yz None of these children have any current medical issues related to behavioral or mental health or metabolic diseases. Michael had meningitis but has recovered. The parents' mistake was to accustom him to fast food during the recovery period.
I’ve been seeing these types of shows for way too many years. These parents had to be eating junk or fast food as toddlers to carry on the unhealthy food habit with their children. Why would we think any differently? I’ve not known of anyone to regularly ASK their high chair aged child what they want to eat. The child’s plate is prepared and placed on their tray, TO EAT and that’s it!

I always wonder: If the people want to buy cheap food for their reasons, why don’t they buy fruits? In my country, a normal pizza is 3-4 more expensive than 1-2kg of some fruits. (A pizza could be 6 - 10€, while 1-2kg of fruits could be 2.50-3€).
New parents: Take juice boxes to restaurants and to birthday parties for your children to drink. When your kids asked for coke/soda, try what I did. I put tonic water in an empty Sprite can. Neither of my children drink soft drinks and they're in their late 20s.
Yes but sadly natural sugar is also not healthy 😅😅 better to eat the fruit itself not in liquid form ...+ Most fruits nowadays have a way higher sugar content and less vitamins...
@Bla Bla this is a HUGE misconception. Fruit juice in MODERATION is okay but in moderation that means like one little cup a day if that. It's loaded with sugar, natural sugars yes but one cup of "natural orange juice" is like the equivalent of eating 8 oranges. Just eat a piece of fruit. Don't drink the juice.

Another good idea is a pet scrap bucket. A small food bucket in the fridge where all the [touched] scraps go, and at the end of the day, it goes into the dog bowl. But yeah, don't throw it into the bin
Never give in to a toddler bullying you for bad food. Also don't beg them to eat. Let them know that the only food available is what you've provided.
@@staceyhunt6769 My son will either eat his Durian or expire from starvation Stacey, I'm not moving on this issue.
When they’re hungry, they’ll eat 🤷🏻♀️

@@alicerabbit8It contains caffeine to. I hope they stop their atrocious diet.

Taylor is why I think people would have to take a test and get a license to have kids. 😭

Agree. She shouldn't have gotten pregnant a second time too
@@dkaulitz13 Definitely she shouldn't off.
I think it’s absolutely fine for children to have some unhealthy food but chips, pizza, kebabs, coke every day for toddlers, is bloody crazy.
Right you can let your kid have pizza at a birthday party but every day? Wtf
Also crazy for an adult for that matter 😂
What I've experienced in the west the moment you introduce junk from a very young age they associate it with "safe and easy "foods and reject or consistently fight for what they want. My advice is to not introduce it in the 1st place, we all know it's garbage food. Wishing everyone the best

Once they are hungry they will eat. If they loose a little weak gut at first so what the kid is probably over eight with all that junk. Do NOT give in. It’s healthy or nothing. Leave kids to explore their food don’t try forcing it down them.
This is terrifying advice for a child with medical issues.
I agree 100%.
I’m gonna go pat myself on the shoulder for raising a healthy eating child from the get go
Here in Germany, that kind of behavior would alert Child Protective Services!
For good reason!
bro half a litre of oil as a 19 month old is literally WILD.
I’m sorry, but Simon shouldn’t have kids. He doesn’t see anything wrong with that they’re doing and his kid is screaming at night.
if i had kids like this i wouldn't give them food until they eat what they are given, quickly they'll learn eat what given or starve
This resulted into an eating disorder for me, so doesn't work
you are a abuser! grrrrrr!
Michaels parents bless em are lovely and are determined to give their boy the best 😊
This is sheer laziness by the parents. Parents need to go to a class on nutritional and healthy cooking budget meals and other tips
She had a heart attack and she’s smoking cigarettes. There’s no hope for her.
She'll be having another one in a few years, terrifying indication of her poor health to have one at 18. The husband in the Welsh family probably should have his cholesterol checked as well.
At 18 no less 😢
These parents shouldn't be parents.
This is why there’s so much obesity and diabetes in the UK , there’s no one else to blame other than the parents it’s disgraceful
Michael is the sweetest little boy 🥹
I always wonder: If the people want to buy cheap food for their reasons, why don’t they buy fruits? In my country, a normal pizza is 3-4 more expensive than 1-2kg of some fruits.
(A pizza could be 6 - 10€, while 1-2kg of fruits could be 2.50-3€).
You live in a good country then. But also, fruit is not a full meal, a pizza is
Crazy cause these kids would have no idea what any of this was if the parents didn't always feed them it to start with.
Kids would be better off with families who actually care about their health
New parents: Take juice boxes to restaurants and to birthday parties for your children to drink. When your kids asked for coke/soda, try what I did. I put tonic water in an empty Sprite can. Neither of my children drink soft drinks and they're in their late 20s.
Juice boxes are just as bad as soda
Yes but sadly natural sugar is also not healthy 😅😅 better to eat the fruit itself not in liquid form ...+ Most fruits nowadays have a way higher sugar content and less vitamins...
Juice rots teeth ..give WATER !
You need the fiber from the fruit.
