@@AshRowland I bought a 6litre vevor from Amazon. Worked well for my GPZ900 carbs which I had had to dismantle into separate units (just like you did) to make them fit in the cleaner.
I stumbled across this channel a few days back, and, flipping’eck its great… no flashy workshop or tools, but a really interesting project, great filming, splendid attention to detail, superb attitude and execution … ‘my kind of TH-cam channel ❤’
Thank you mate! I really appreciate you leaving this comment, a lot of work goes into the videos and it's always nice when someone let's me know they love what I'm doing 😊
Great video Ash!! Greatest part was seeing you with a spanky new set of proper JIS drivers. That'll be a life saver when it comes to dealing with all the seized and corroded JIS fasteners.
Bit late now, but pouring hot water from a kettle over the plastic pipes would have probably got them out a lot easier. I used this technique to remove some stuck injectors from a fuel rail on a Ford a few years back.
Any chance you can tell me what brand/source of rebuild kit(s)? I am in the process of refurbishing a Californian spec A2 here in New Zealand and all I can find on the Internet is rather questionable unbranded stuff.
@@AshRowland Thanks Ash. Found the store (M_and_P_Direct) but they only ship within the UK... Anyway, looking forward to the rest of the rebuild video.
All of the carb heating plumbing is a load of pointless rubbish, and ugly too, plus replacing all of those broken bits will cost a few bob. Thought - a set of carbs without that plumbing is cheap on eBay, about £100. Get a set, and rebuild them using the best bits from both sets of carbs ?
@@AshRowland, I've had my GPZ for 25 years and the carbs have NEVER iced up on me, but its your bike, and build so go to it mate, 👍. Looking forward to future videos in the series.
@@AshRowland I think it was a bit of a knee-jerk reaction from KAWASAKI as a few people had some issues with carb spluttering so they decided to install it.
A little known fact, but 'The Joy of Impact Drivers' actually outsold 'The Joy of Sex' at Waterstones for several years.
🤣
Get your hands on an ultrasonic cleaner. Well worth it. Love your videos mate. Cheers
Thank you! That's not a bad shout actually

Never a truer word said... Wish I knew about them years ago!
Great job Ash! On a lot of my rebuilds, I go into the job with the attitude that "It's broken already, I can't do much more damage!"
Haha, exactly!
Absolutely fantastic
Thank you 👍

Ah cool, I'll try that next time
Cracking work again Chap.
Had two of these, late '80's.
Superb.
Thanks buddy
Nice job Ash, also nice bit of Vagner also , keep it up feller it’s coming along nicely
Cheers Chris
So what happened to the fuel tank,
Watch this space
nice mate that end scene brought out the james may in you😂
Haha, yea!
This fantastic video made me hungry.. I’m having Carbonara for dinner 🤪
🤣
Another great video, keep them coming.
How about Part 2 at 4pm?
Another solid episode
Thanks, keep an eye out for part 2
Could you describe the idle adjuster again? Comedy gold...😂
Part 2's done and available to watch mate

I bought them from a UK company called M and P. They have an eBay shop and the item number was 142446149085

These are notorious for leaking and overflowing from the float bowl
I'll keep an eye on it when it's back on the bike, thanks
Do you have a 1/4in drive socket set?
Haha, yes of course, I just didn't have it with me, would've been useful for that main jet eh?
Really good video keep it up 😊❤😂😊
Thank you matey
Rather you than me. Most of those bits would have ended up pinging off into oblivion if I was doing it!
🤣
Cant find wd4
Buy some proper screwdrivers like VESSEL MEGADORA IMPACTA - Uniquely designed screwdriver and impact driver in one
Looks very cool
Wd 40 is not penetration fluid plus gas is
The stuff I'm using is WD40's vatiant of penetration fluid, it's not the standard WD40 😊
Your carbs are dirty but I’ve seen worse! (On my bike!) 😁
yea, they're definitely not the worst ones i've done

Problem is that it serves a purpose and I'd rather the carbs didn't ice up on me, or worse, someone else
@@AshRowland Good call, and those carbs do look OK.👍

@@shaunhardie6077 I guess the weather conditions have to be quite extreme for it to happen, I guess the anti-icing stuff is precautionary
