When I saw these pop up on SRO's website, I immediately bought one to go in a super slimline haversack to replace the USGI canteen and cup I had been carrying. This particular bag has no gusset, so the canteen took up about ⅔rds of the interior space and kept it from laying very flat against the body. It's amazing the space difference I have now with the M34. I like to hit one of the local trails before work each morning for a quick walk and a brew up, and this canteen set works great for that.
Took one camping over Labor Day weekend strapped to a haversack. Came in very handy. Enough water for a good drink of water and shared some via the cup. Good piece of kit.
If you take an old sock and cut it to the size of the cup and put the flask in it then put it in the cup it will cut the rattle completely. We use to do that to our canteens in Viet Nam to cut down on noise, I just got one in the mail yesterday, great product, just like all their gear.
I have a few originals, and to be honest, i usually carry them in an inside coat pocket when hunting. Convenient, and ensures it doesnt freeze. Esbit stove, and presto, tea or coffee.
Great review Kenny. I have tons of pathfinder gear including 5 of their knives. But I don't drink alcohol so I'm still on the fence about it. I'll probably go ahead and buy one. Thanks for sharing brother 👍
I would like to have it. I have a Swiss original, but I would like this in stainless steel. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to find or extremely expensive in Europe.
Nice review Kenny. Looks really solid. I have one of the early canteen shop/pathfinder canteen and cup set. Like it pretty well. That one looks pretty tough, and you reviewed it well.
Not a huge fan of brands but I do like the flatter canteen style. Surprised that the handles are at the end i stead of the rear but I'm sure they had a reason.
I liked it but I already have a plastic when it's an officer's canteen and it was under 20. Back when I got it before they started making these. What's the story on the points I bought so much stuff from that website but I don't know anything about points. I bought the one quart, the 64 Oz and 120 Oz Bush pots and several of their stoves not to mention a few other little items but they never told me anything about points
I really want one, but man it hurt$ to order from Canada 🍁. Would be perfect size for my haversack. For just a short walk I don’t need a full Nalgene of water.
Question ; what happens if you lose the top ? Can you order a spare ? Or , does the cap of a large coke bottle work as an emergency top ? Can't figure out why they didn't devise a "attached" cap for that canteen.
@@baronedipiemonte3990 Have you , by any chance , tried to use a large coke bottle top as an emergency/substitute top ? Just curious to see if it works. The original pilot flask canteens were able to utilise them as stop-gap tops , until they stopped producing coke bottle tops with a gasket and although they still fitted they were not so leak proof.
Классная шляжка. Гармонично смотрится. Хороший и правильный объём) Но чашка к ней сделана странно... Не в размер и гремит... Зачем так? Не могли подогнать по размеру? Очень странно...
Was thinking the same....its a hip flask! I like the design and if it came in a 1ltr capacity I would buy one. But this is too small to be of any use in the bush.

I love that Dave’s bringing back classic design gear and at affordable prices. (Compared to expensive and rare original pieces)

Nice canteen! Thank you for showing it to us, Kenny. Stay safe and stay cool
Pretty Cool design, nice slim and trim
Thanks for showing it Kenny 👍🏻❤️🔥🙏🏻🤟🏻
Excellent for a haversack. Swapped out 32oz pathfinder bottle for it. That and a grayl will be the way to go.

Man I really like the looks of that canteen! Great review Kenny!
I also got this canteen because it sits much flatter in my haversack for those shorter day trips, but I can process more water with the cup if needed.

Really enjoying this as purchase as well. Perfect fit for your day pack or haversack. Definitely recommended. Thanks for your review. Best Regards.

I’m curious if it will fit inside a hill people gear kit bag.
I'll replace my swiss canteen with this as soon as I receive it! It looks great!
bought 2 of these earlier this week.
Got one for my haversack. It's just right.

I bought one and that is the only deficiency

Does it have welding on the bottom of the cup? Or a single piece?
Single piece
