Excellent trade for Vancouver... I am impressed. I haven't said that a lot about Allvin... I have to say it here. This could easily make a 5 to 10 W's difference in the standings compared to Martin as backup; and keeps Silovs in development down in Abby. Tanner gets out of a bad-vibe situation with all that surrounding his injury, cap hit is lowered, and the 3rd wouldn't see playing time, if ever, until approaching 2030, so... who cares, if the goal is to impress Petey into re-signing and committing, NOW. Love this move; there's not a bad thing about it. NOW ON TO DUMPING MYERS OFF SOMEWHERE!
myers and beauvillier don't get moved preseason. terrible look for the team if you eat 3 mill preseason and no one is taking 6 mill cap hit rn. deadline probable or we eat it and let them walk.
@@obscurereference6298 Yeah, sadly one the Myers front, you may be right; but I don't see a need to move Beauvillier. Give him a chance to make some chemistry with the likes of Garland and Podkolzin, or some-such, on a 3rd line... Could have some punch! (At least be agitating as hell, maybe?) If management continue to INSIST playing Boeser on top 6, then, that's how it'll likely work out. And personally, I'd MUCH rather see them move the dead-in-the-water Boeser than whatever potential you might get out of Beauvillier. Cheers!
You're encouraging Beauvillier as a third line worker when he doesn't backcheck well (he got benched for this problem already) and he makes over 4 million. Hence my issue with him.@@davideaston6944
Moving Pearson is the solution to your cap problem. It gives you enough space to ride out the final year of Myers and then you have real breathing room.
And just a couple hours after it was posted the Pearson trade happens. It's not nearly as bad as when young captain Bo had most of the veterans yoinked from the room in the offseason, after the Lockdown Playoffs, but Pearson was someone Hughes thought enough to call out team management about. He certainly made more than what typical journeymen players in his situation usually do, but it would have been nice if they could have sent him to the Islanders to skat alongside Bo again.
It would be good PR to move Pearson to a team he wants to go to for like a 4th rounder. We certainly wouldn't get a lot for him anyway so maybe focus on doing right by Tanner.
If Pearson doesn’t trust the team doctors & trainers…he simply does NOT trust the team’s doctors, trainers or even management & would feel more comfortable moving on, given the opportunity & seeing as members of the “old” culture of the team have been moved-out or along as well. At his age, in this Premiere league, you most definitely need advocates for your health & future happiness - that you can trust! You also cherish playing where you have “positive connections” & bonds, that make all of those sacrifices worth it & the game fun, again. Farewell, Tanner! I have loads of respect & admiration for everything you have done upon the ice as a Vancouver Canuck! Cheers to you & best wishes!!

It blows my mind that we're dealing not just with grown adults but millionaires and they have to hand over their cell phone like they're in prison or an abusive school. The coach's job isn't to judge a player's personal life. His job is to put a system in place that will help the team win. The players' personal lives are fundamentally irrelevant unless they approach the coach or someone else in the organization with a mental health concern. A player's cell phone goes far beyond the scope of a coach's job and is none of their business. I was on a swim team for over a decade and no coach once pried into private information like that. Sure, I've dealt with unprofessional coaches, but even the most unprofessional coach I dealt with didn't care what I was doing outside of the pool beyond the usual diet, exercise and sleep routine. Whether I had a girlfriend or not was none of his concern as long as I was on time for practices and swim competitions and put the effort in. I've never heard of a coach doing something like this and not ending up at least fired.
Perhaps some vestiges of old, hard nose coaching is still valid in today's landscape. The game has changed by some grit and tough love shouldn't be thrown out like the proverbial baby with the bath water. At the end of the day, Babcock has an impressive body of work despite what the detractors say about him. At the cost of some feelings being offended, winning is still priority #1. And let's not make a mountain out of a moll hill. He wasn't asking to go through their lives with a fine tooth comb.
