There are horrors out there with Oscar noms, you can always hope :) I think though this movie is too contemporary for the Oscars which generally favor more traditional films. BAFTA and especially Golden Globes may look far more kindly on this film though. She's given people plenty to talk, think, and feel about with her appearance in this movie for years into the future, which is far more than the same but distinctly momentary effect a(n accompanying) win of any kind would accomplish.

The Substance was insane. legitimately almost made me pass out in the theater! the artistic vision for the movie comes through so clearly and so viscerally, every artist involved in this film knocked it out of them park. genuinely the most horrific sound design and visuals i’ve experienced in a movie ever. you have to see this in theaters!

But a character too that wasn't one note/stone faced, who had range. Really stuck out to me. She deserved better than whatever that nonsense was back then.
Demi should've mentioned The Hunchback of Notre Dame being the voice. I loved that film growing up, makes me cry. Despite what people say, Striptease is not too bad. A much better film than Showgirls.

For a successful, and brilliant actor/creative, Demi Moore is UNDERRATED. Looking at this timeline reminds she was, and is still IT. I've seen most of her movies and how she got under my skin - a sign of a great actor.

Demi was definitely mistreated by the industry. They made her a star and then they faded her at the same pace. Midia was also very brutal to her and I remember being young and believing everything that the press used to tell about her, and I didn't like her as an actress because of that. Years later I got finally aware of what happened and I respect her immensely for being such a strong person into a very unfair industry. She deserves all the recognition she can get.
