What, your homeland doesn't have such a law? Sure if it's premeditated you bring a knife or something but in the heat of the moment you just grab whatever is close to hand.
The Empire is like a minigame on itself. CA could drawn inspiration from Crusader Kings and how they handle many different dynasties and vassals inside a single kingdom, or maybe how the Christian kingdoms worked with the Papacy in Medieval, only if you ever declared war on your fellow county you would be "excomunicated" immediatly.
Gakgaming Or the Holy Roman Empire from Europa Universalis IV. The Elector States vote on who becomes the Emperor. Being Emperor gives certain buffs. While also allowing internal conflict within the Empire.
Gakgaming I must admit, I was not to keen on the game being about Warhammer. But after spending more time on reading the lore, it is really intresting, and it will be a perfect mix between history-ish, like the empire and fantasy, with the orks and such :) The empire is like the Holy roman empire, something that I would look forward to interact with :)
andré popovski Yeah, Warhammer is undoubtely the logical universe to go for a series specialized in historical warfare to add a bit of fantasy. There would be no better place to go for CA if they wanted to skip slightly from historical theme. Also Warhammer PC gaming fans have been waiting for something that looked like Total War since Mark of Chaos (which was alright but not quite there). The Warhammer tabletop game is very similar to Total War battles, except turn based. But the complexity is there, charge, terrain, range, morale etc.
Gakgaming Actually, there's a pretty great mod for Crusader Kings 2 on steam called Warhammer: Geheimnisnacht that is a total conversion of the ENTIRE warhammer fantasy world. Its a WIP, and only humans, dwarves, Chaos dwarves and Orcs are actually fleshed out, but its shaping to be really fun if you like Crusader Kings 2-it has Chaos and vampires and alot of cool stuff. eventually the dev said they'd add all the races.

well i see often late gothic and maximiliar armor in the imperial also in real world plate armor around 1500 was fully able to repell small arms fire and was bulletsproof which wa sthe reason many people just wore chestplate
i know this is really out of date, but i always thought carving the empire into 3 general factions roughly aligning with the time of the 3 emperors would be a managable compromise. one based in riekland controlling the south, one based in middenland controlling the north, and one based in talabechland controlling the east. east having about 3 provences under their control.
I'm hoping the game plays as the 1 faction empire and you have general units you can recruit anywhere but have to recruit certain high quality troops in certain regions. It would be awesome to raise units and have them march to a staging area for assignment. Please bring back non general lead armies. Tired of having to march my army back home when i could have sent reinforcements from the capital halfway through the campaign so my army could continue its onslaught. Or have the states be chosen as separate factions but you can commission troops. So you would have a recruitment tab and a commission tab. There you could see the units of your allies and choose which ones you would like to commission. So if you want some heavy gunners you would have to wait 2 turns for them to be recruited and then oh so many turns for them to reach your capital. Then you can assign them to an army.
Not gonna lie I miss warhammer fantasy. It felt like a grimdark but approachable version of middle earth and way more developed. Age of sigmar feels more like a board game with a fantasy setting where as WHF felt like an awesome universe that you got to play. It's also the only universe I ever fantasized about living in when I was a kid and I found my first book explaining the main factions. Hell me wanting to be a vampire count at 9 was probably what set me up to be a goth and metal head. Then gw fucked it all up so they could own the copy right for every aspect. What's the point if owning the copyright when no body wants to buy your shit? Hopefully they will just abandon aos and go back to fantasy
Given what we have now seen of the game now internal conflict within the empire should not be difficult. Given that unit banners and hovering icons indicate friend or foe not colours on the units themselves; factional empire would just involve changing those icons and unit choice limits and a few unit bonuses. I can even see how they could do dwarf on dwarf or a great greenskin brawl. Halflings should be a separate army though. The have their own army book and pie cannons are a must.
