Interesting conversation I found my spouse on salt she’s catholic but I am Pentecostal. In my opinion, the most important thing is to let God lead you. Forget about denominations and ask God is this who I should be with or should I give this person a chance and wait to hear what He says. That’s what I did and found the most amazing God given spouse. Even though we are working out our beliefs together there is love and respect and seeking God together. Only God could have put this relationship together.

The level of compromise can be too great for some to overcome. I’ve not experienced or witnessed a mix denominational relationship that has worked.

When with my dad i went to a baptist church. With my mom i went to a Methodist church. My moms parents and her brother are catholic. My dads parents went to a Pentecostal church which i sometimes attended.
Sooo after all of that exposure iv decided to classify my beliefs as non-denominational. I choose to read and for the most part interpret the bible on my own and live by the rules i find within it 🤷♀️
Me too, although I don't blame it on the denomination entirely. Just in her refusal to join my Church and resist baptizing the Baby for a while. Can't teach the Child two opposing views. Like the Baptism view. Either it's child Baptism or not. How can I be the spiritual leader of the home if the wife refuses to be led?
I am coming from catholic background and today i am born again christian and i really need this channel not only to lead me to my promised😂but olso to teach me how to love and respect ...i'm 57 which is interesting fact😂and the only one in my whole family that has faith in Christ...i grew when i was born again in a very strict small church feeling as i am exclusive keeper of the truth and a fighter for it but in a wrong way...your conversation helps me to realise that once i trully know who i am in Christ all my fears are gonne and i do not have to fight or impose my point thinking God wants me to...so thank you very much for teaching me love and respect...God bless you all and your channel🎉
I'm from a pentacostal church. I don't know the many denominations but I would never date a Catholic, seventh day Adventist etc. We're just too different

Well said Precious... truth 🙌...the Bible says the true worshippers worship God in spirit and in truth. There is the most important difference between being religious or a church-goer and truly being in a real relationship with God by trusting in Jesus’ payment in our place on the cross. Catholicism is full of unbiblical doctrines of men. For example, how can baptising a baby make any difference to that baby really? Church going and following a religion is not salvation or relationship with God; do not be deceived. Praying to Mary and to Saints is evil in God’s sight.

The purpose for denominations is so you know at a snapshot roughly the doctrine these Christians subscribe too. What it doesn't tell you though is whether the leadership is living righteously or by the world. It doesn't tell you if the general consensus of the people themselves are actually devoted to Christ to compromising with the world.
It also helps to retain accountability in that if the leadership and collective of people leading the organization of that denomination are not compromising with the world in some way, then they will hold accountable member churches that are compromising with the world. For example, some denominations don't even carry a doctrine that is of Christ anymore. The Southern Baptist Convention here in the USA is infamously wishy washy on obedience and compromising with the world. The SBC here in the USA is unfortunately collapsing in its commitment to Christ. I would not trust any of their churches, though many of their member churches still do retain a commitment to Christ without compromising.
But for example, the Episcopalian denomination has completely collapsed and been entirely absorbed into compromise with the world. They embrace homosexuality as natural and good in the eyes of God, and they have respected leaders already in less than a few decades entertaining ideas that the death and resurrection of Christ for the forgiveness of sins never actually happened, but was a mere metaphor.
I'm a roman catholic and I think there are too many differences that I would want to date someone outside of my denomination. But I have lovely friends from different denominations which I admire and learn a lot from! In the end we are all one body in Christ and we should love and respect one another, but I do think that its easier to be equally yoked to grow together into the same direction!
I date outside of Catholicism but i make it clear from the start that she will have to convert to Catholicism and we will need to raise our future kids Catholic.

We still have to choose a partner though, can't love everyone in that way...
I would probably only marry a Pentecostal or a non denominational but definitely not a Catholic. Don't get me wrong, I really admire the Catholic aesthetic and I love how devoted many Catholics are. Also I absolutely love the modesty culture, that's something I also tend to practice. (Being Pakistani modesty is also quite cultural for me lol) But the differences are just too vast. I've tried really hard to make sense of it but burning candles to statues, praying and asking saints to pray for them, believing that mother Mary is a mediator (God forbid) and that she was sinless, is just too much. I also don't agree with the confessionals and just so much more.

Well said; they are sincere but sincerely wrong as are all the other cults which have no payment for sin. It’s a serious subject in fact it doesn’t get any more serious than this; this is a salvation issue.

I am considering dating this really pretty girl who happens to be catholic, but this vid made me reconsider. I guess there are way more differences between a catholic & a non-denominational Christian.
I would say do some research. Don't just go off what the person in this video said. Its her personal opinion. The Catholic church doesn't forbid relationships. The only stipulation to be married is that the person is a baptised Christian.
Remember there are many doctrinal differences between all the many different churches otherwise they would not have split off from each other. Even the "non - denominational" church has certain beliefs which are different to all other denominations Baptist, pentecostal, methodist, anglican, Presbyterian etc etc etc. So keep an open mind and dont be a "divisive religious" person.

I agree with Catholics on many things such as angels and the supernatural experiences of the saints (mysticism) but sadly the differences are too vast for me. I have a Catholic friend and I love her and how seriously she wants to please God and she takes sin seriously, it's admirable. One day there will be no more denominations 🙂

Coptic Orthodox Christian here! Just wanted to clarify that Catholic or Eastern Orthodox individuals would have to be chrismated in an Oriental Orthodox church in order to marry in our church. This is because we recongise the baptism of these churches. As an aside, Coptic means Egyptian so either one of those nouns are fine :)
I guess sometimes there are rituals that you'd have to go through to make it work as long as everyone was happy with that
Christians are a tiny minority in this country. Let's not be divisive Pharisees. Jesus was inclusive. The many different Churches have many different doctrines and they are all my brothers and sisters in Christ . Jesus prayed that his followers be as one, as he is with the Father John 17.
This was a great example of Christians being together despite having different theologies. You do have to be exclusive in choosing a partner so there's definitely merit in deciding your deal-breakers

That’s not what the Bible says actually. It says in Matthew 10:35, ESV: For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Read your Bibles folks and wake up. God wants us to seek out the truth for ourselves, it is our responsibility. 🙏

I would prefer to date a pentecostal, wouldn't have any issue dating any protestant but would not date a catholic, unitarian, mormon etc as we cannot share the identity of Jesus and what His sacrifice means for my faith.
I agree with you but I don't understand why we even categorise Mormons as Christians, their theology is as far from Christianity as the sky is from land🙄

Been there done that and now understand that the bible is not there to make our lives more difficult. There is a reason the bible says “What fellowship does light have with darkness”
Because as i got deeper into a relationship with this person i literally realised there are things they literally did not see. That they were in the dark about concerning God and His will.
It absolutely meant more compromise (on my part)
And by the end of it i felt so broken and far from God. I now realise these “rules” requirements are in place to protect us. So in a word. Nope. I have to draw a hard line on this. Christians only!!

All have sinned but yet Catholics pray to sinners (saints). Once you are born again you are considered one of the saints. A lot of catholics are in love with their religion instead of Jesus. I believe they will ask Jesus to move out of the way so they can see the Pope. I am non-denominational. I encourage everyone to ask God for wisdom if you have any doubts about any thing in your life and actually listen for his voice to get your answer. The holy spirit is your teacher. God bless all of you.
The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth, but pretty sure catholics are still saved through Jesus... because as you say, there's no other way to be saved

Catholics INTERRUPT the Lord's prayer, then the priest says an extra part, then the congregation finishes it. They don't cut it short.

Are you suggesting that observing special days is wrong? Pretty sure they are wrong if that's the entirety of your faith but I know Delphine loves Jesus and lives for him. Don't cancel Christmas yet
@@be_salt You would have to ask a Catholic whether they could bin their calendar and still hold their faith. Without Easter and Christmas, mine would still be there.

Guess that's why it's trickier discerning between denominations
Have you ever looked for infant baptisms in the bible? If you really want to know why you believe what you believe, I want to challenge you to open up your bible and search this out. To understand if infant baptisms are biblical or not we need to first understand what baptism actually is. I want to encourage you to read the Book of Acts to see how the early Church of Jesus Christ operated.
In Romans 6 it explains that baptism is a death with Jesus's death, burying your old sinful life with Jesus, and then a resurrection with Jesus's resurrection, so that you can walk in your new life with Jesus. Before Jesus's death and resurrection, no one could be baptized into his death and resurrection.
John the Baptist baptized people unto repentance in order to prepare the way for Jesus (John 1, Luke 3). John was basically tilling the soil of people's hearts to receive the Messiah. Again, Jesus's disciples also baptized people unto repentance before Jesus died and resurrected.
So are baby baptisms a thing in the bible? Hopefully you actually did your homework and searched it out in the bible yourself. If you read through the Gospels and the book of Acts, you'll find not one account of an infant baptism. Baptisms is a part of the born again process which is; repent of your sins, be baptized, and be filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). Following Jesus and participating in the born again experience is not a choice an infant can make. They can't repent of their sins, they are completely unaware of their sins! They can't choose Jesus or even understand what baptism is! I hope this helps someone out there.
There is one account: (Acts 16) the jailer and all his household were baptized (obviously we don't know the ages of everyone in his household), but it's an interesting verse to add to the discussion.

The first thing that stands out to me is that it says they SPOKE the word of the Lord to him and the others in his household. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing the word of God.
Romans 10:13-14, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
So a person must hear the word preached to have faith in it. Infants can hear, but can they understand what is being said?
As you said, Acts 16 does not say if there were infants in the home. There's also no where in the scripture that says infants baptisms are not allowed. Should we then build an entire doctrine of “infant baptisms” off of just one passage in the bible, that isn't even saying infants were baptized?
I believe that if we understand what baptism actually is (Romans 6) and that it's an act of obedience upon hearing and believing in Jesus, then the answer is very clear. If you read the book of Acts you will see that baptism happens after a person hears and believes not before. Infants can't make that decision. The qualification for say a child to be baptized is if they can recognized they're a sinner, believe and put their faith in Jesus and choose to be baptized with the understanding of what that is.
I opened the bible, I want to point this verse out Acts 2 38-39
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your CHILDREN and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
You should have a Catholic and a proddy on the next third wheel dates, heal those divides!

That is not facing truth. It would be trying to join together two belief systems which are at odds with one another which is why the Bible tells us to not be unequally yoked together. It says,’ Unless two be agreed how can they walk together?’

Denomination in this sense allows us to understand who we believe Jesus is. The denomination itself isn't really important, but it is a strong indicator of core beliefs.
And whether your beliefs are compatible with your partner's beliefs. We're not entering a romantic relationship with our neighbour so there is a distinction here
Love and truth are two different things and both are extremely important to God.
Jesus founded but one Church back in A.D. 33. The Catholic church traces it's roots back to that institution. The other denominations such as Lutherism and Calvinism did not come until the sixteenth century.
