Delphine shares some questions to help you discern whether the person you're dating is the one you should marry. It's hard to know for sure but if you can answer these questions, plus seek God's counsel, you're well on the road to discerning whether your partner should be for life.

you somehow reminded me of Dallas Willard, the christian I most admire.
While most of these questions were answered with a "yes" right from the get-go was very guarded about letting myself be attacted and drawn to the man that is now my husband until AFTER I had been convinced through prayer and the advice of my parents that I should marry him. So, since attraction in a relationship grows and it's actually wise to be guarded, be careful about making an absence of a "passion and attraction layer" be a deal breaker.

Thanks Delphine, great video and sound advice. I wondered on your thoughts about discerning marriage with someone who is not a believer? I know the Catholic Church permits such marriages so long as they commit to a premarital course and are wedded within the Church. What would constitute as being “unevenly yoked” if the Church permits marriage to potential spouses of different faiths and those with no faith? Thanks 😊

I am opposed to the concept of dating as it currently exists. Basically, it's an advertising game, where you try to convince other people that you are better for them than any other person! The problem is that you always put your best foot forward. I will not try to "sell" myself to anyone. I am single living by myself, and that won't change. Life is a one shot deal and I chose not to participate in this aspect of "how the world turns."
I don't think it's about presenting yourself as better than anyone else. I think it's just about presenting yourself well, putting your best foot forward. If you put effort into appearance or a dating profile, for example, and show you're involved in your faith and have interests, then those things are attractive.
@@bettycooper2924 I suppose that's a good way to look at it. But there are other problems in my personality that prohibit me from dating successfully, so I will simply remain single permanently.
