    Silver Airways was once Gulfstream Airlines, after chapter 11 they changed name and livery.

      Sometimes re-branding is key since the majority of the public has the out of sight out of mind mentality

    I flew Silver on business back when they flew Saab 340’s instead. The ATR’s look like a nice upgrade. The AC in the Saab was barely functional and the ride was hot and loud. Glad to see the airline is still chugging along though. They fill a niche.

    Love Key West to visit,just too expensive to live there plus the vulnerability to hurricanes being on an island but kudos to anyone who can.

    The Saabs were horrible. So loud and cramped, not to mention hot.

      Thank you. I got it last minute for around $99. Not too bad. I know the airfare goes up and down.

    I worked for Continental Airlines at IAD back in the mid 90s. We had the ATR 42 and the 72 series for our EWR flights. They were obviously the much earlier models that only had the 4 Prop Blades. One of my favorite commuter airplanes!

    I remember as a kid watching old Westerns and wondering why the wheels of the stagecoaches used to look as though they were going backwards, same as the props eh! Now we know 🧐

    Too bad their prices are just way way too expensive to fly on they ought to be ashamed of the prices they charge

    • @mattsmoments2

      It’s a bummer they aren’t more affordable.

    • @cxa340
      @cxa340 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Why should they be ashamed for the prices they charge? That is such a ridiculously stupid comment - you expect Silver to lose money just to fly you around Florida?

    • @mattsmoments2
      @mattsmoments2  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I work in the industry and understand why they charge what they charge and it’s because there’s no competition

      3M’s CASM is actually astronomically high at $0.14, this is really the driver of their “high” costs. It has nothing to do with competition, and everything to do with the fact that they are a smaller airline, carry a lot of debt for their new planes, and simply operate in a high cost environment with lower demand
