United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 18 ต.ค. 2021
Hello and welcome to my channel
My name is Matt Marcotte and I have the joy of exploring and going on adventures. On this channel, you will see a variety of airplanes and airlines, this will give you an idea of who provides the best service. I will also be going on trains and cruises too! Also, I will share my thoughts on the airports and train stations that I visit.
I will also be staying at different lodgings, so you will get to see great views and home tours, if you like a certain one, you may like to stay there too. Sometimes it can be hard to choose a hotel or airbnb from pictures, but when you see a video and an honest review that helps a lot.
I will try to share some advice and tips so you can have smoother travels, no matter if it is by plane, train, bus or boat.
The videos on this channel will be fun, enjoyable and informative too, I will be going across the USA but also to other countries too, so make sure you’re subscribed and let’s enjoy this journey together.

I Tried Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class (Business) Flight Experience
I only flew them once (so far) about three weeks ago. A great ride, friendly crew, saved some money.
That’s always an experience you hope for. Thank you for sharing.
Ayyyee my boy Fire video 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate that. Thank you.
Thanks for all the responses to my question you all rock! Thanks again!!
My pleasure. I’m happy to help the best I know how
Never rode Amtrak. Howe is the ride? Smooth or rough?
Just depends on the tracks and speed. More times than not you will feel the swaying but also enjoy the smooth experiences too. Depends on the routes.
This was a huge help! Currently in Boston and about to get to North Station to go to Salem!! Now i know, Rockport, zone 3!
Awesome to hear. Glad it was informative
Lovely room tour! Great way to show what's there
Thank You and glad you enjoyed it!
Good room tour! Hoping to take roomette across USA someday.
I'm sure in time you will. I haven't done the big routes to or from chicago
@@mattsmoments2 Hoping to do a circle tour of the US....maybe in 2026 or 2027. Got 4 cruises coming up first.
New subscriber here! We just rode Piedmont and have videos coming on it soon. We love riding Amtrak! Stay in touch!
Thank you for the sub! I’m subscribed to you as well. Looking forward to watching your experience on piedmont.
I've flown spirit well over 100 times mostly to South America, the Caribbean and Mexico and love the airline. The prices are ideal for me because i travel frequently.
If you play it right you can steal some deals
I've flown Spirit 16 times and never had a problem.
Two maybe three times now for me. First time in the front
Yea, wrapping your luggage in plastic wrap just seems silly in my humble opinion. I’m doing JFK to Dubai in economy and then business class on the return in February, I can’t wait. I’m not doing the stop in Milan however, it’ll be direct flight both ways.
That’s awesome to hear. I’ll experience that one day. Safe travels
Good information and well-researched video. And impressive that you did the trip in coach like a real traveler! But don't call coach class "economy," please. This is not an airline.
Yes yes I know. lol. 20 years in the airlines I definitely slip saying economy instead of coach. I appreciate the compliment and thank you for watching
Nice job! It was always my goal to take a long haul trip on Amtrak, but I never made it. Glad to have experienced it through your video. And you're right ... nobody EVER films this from west to east. I don't know why,
My pleasure and thank you for watching. I’m glad I was able to showcase west to east
here´s a fun fact for you if you think that Tennessee is big then Iceland is about 2.364 sq mi smaller than Tennessee
Yah Iceland isn’t much lol. Thank you that fun fact. Without looking I wonder if Ohio is bigger than Iceland.
@@mattsmoments2 Ohio is about 5.008 sq mi bigger than Iceland
Thank you for that lol
About how long was the bus rides to the beach club and atv section
Maybe 20-30 minutes each. Not bad at all
The TWA hotel is the worst hotel I ever stayed in. The employee think they don’t have to work. I booked a room by the runway and I didn’t get what I paid for.
Couldn’t agree more when it comes to the the service and prices. They are both pretty rough. I’ve stayed twice
If you went from Montreal to Helifax, you did not go afford Canada! Not even half way.
Great video. The old cars are still nice on the inside. They just aren’t much to look at on the outside. What Amtrak should do is run a train from Seattle down to Portland and then over to Boise, Idaho and to end at Salt Lake City. If these old cars are available, then they have the equipment for this train.
That would be a unique route. Call it the “Salty Spud 🥔 “ route lol
garbage airline............flew it twice.......crap service
I’m sorry you feel that way and had underwhelming service. Been on them three and it was solid. Nothing to complain about
@@mattsmoments2 horrible experience for me............lots my seats, even though we were there early.....horrible food service, and not enough cocktails in their bin to serve all customers.
I mean that can sadly happen to any airline. I’m sorry it happened with you. I hope for a better experience any time you fly next
Great video. Thanks for sharing. 👍23
My pleasure. Thank you for watching
Cruis'n... on a Sunday afternoon 😂 U go nef-u 🎉
Thank you Uncle!
I've done this flight twice round trip, but I was in first class.
That’s a great route to be in business/first
Did this plane have a spacious feel in economy seats?
I was in their economy plus. Slightly more legroom. So that wasn’t too bad. I was cozy. I got lucky as you saw with an empty seat next to me.
Are there overhead individual air vents in economy seats? How was the air quality? Was it too hot on the plane? Is it an old plane? How was the experience?
All planes to me run cold. A lot of Hawaiian airlines fleet is modern but pushing the older age of planes. All in all good
this is scare, my cat sad
??
Do you know what the weight limit is on the balcony hammock?
It held two adults. At least 350lbs
I love that you enjoyed your time on Valiant Lady! 0:00
I did! Thank you for helping set it all up
I wish the roomettes weren’t so expensive
They only seem to keep getting higher and higher
@@mattsmoments2. I know. My friend and her husband pay about 300 more for the same trip.
@peaches4044 recently I paid 600 for a roomette. I was a little surprised
@@mattsmoments2. That’s what I found also
Do they serve wine in economy?
If I remember correctly I believe they will serve you a white or red wine.
Great video, and good description of the route to Camden Yards. Nice to see the locomotive on the point of your train, and I wonder if the newer Siemens Charger locomotives appear on this line ?
I’m unsure their locomotives rotation per line. Thank you for the compliment and watching
I was tracking the flight while i was at school when it happened
Well that’s pretty cool!
I was on that same route in August with A group. We were in A sleeper plus compartment too! We thought it was very tight. The bathroom made me feel like I was in the Jetsons cartoon. I was in the top bunk too! My feet were touching the wall. We didn’t ride the whole route though. We thought the ride was very smooth.
That’s the thing about trains usually tight squeeze in rooms. I’m intrigued about VIA rails berths. They look tight squeeze for sure.
@@mattsmoments2 : we also found the sink difficult to use. You could easily burn yourself with the sink . It was difficult to get just warm water not scalding hot water. We were better off by not doing the bare necessities. I was surprised that they only took plastic in the bar /club car.
@gregtrain1 that’s wild to hear about the hot water. As for using only plastic I know that’s becoming more and more common.
We fly Aer Lingus regularly from Toronto to Dublin. Their business product is excellent but we also find economy very good. My husband is 6’ 1” and finds the economy seats are fine for leg room. Staff are consistently friendly in our experience. Hope you enjoyed Ireland.
I love that yall have had great experiences on Aer Lingus. Thank you for sharing your story.
And Toronto is going 2 daily with Aer Lingus next year!
Minneapolis was not a new flight for them, it was the last one they brought back from its suspension during the pandemic Hope you enjoyed your time in Ireland Matt! I spent a month there last year, exploring the whole island and I had a blast. I just completed a trip this summer that was six weeks long. I spent two weeks crossing Canada, where I took the Via Rail Canadian from Toronto to Vancouver. Then I flew to Australia for a month where I took two luxury passenger trains four times across the entire continent. Those trains are called, The Ghan and the Indian Pacific. I actually was on the train across Canada at the exact time you took this flight from Denver to Dublin, Matt. This is a great big world and it’s fun traveling to see it yourself. I’m actually flying back to Europe again in April. I met a beautiful lady on the train crossing Canada, and we really hit it off. We become good friends and are planning to meet up again on her home turf in Germany. I went there last year, but I haven’t seen much. She’s gonna be my own tour guide 😊. You never know who you’re going to meet while you’re traveling.
Thank you for sharing. I love the story! Sending good vibes your way.
FOR A FIRST FLIGHT , THE DRINKS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLIMENTARY ALONG WITH A BETTER BREAKFAST DISH...
Oh definitely. I’m with ya there lol. As for the breakfast if had far worse. This wasn’t too bad.
Wow thanks for your sharing! I plan to do the same trip in mid-December too but the daytime is too short (sunrise 9:40, sunset 15:10). I'm not sure if I'd take the 8 am train, miss the first 1.5 hrs scenery from Bergen to Voss; or take the 11:50 train and the last 4 hrs will be in darkness (Ål to Oslo). It seems like the beginning part is more stunning in your video. Do you have any opinions from your experience?
You’re correct about that. I do wish the train had been later because there was a lot of stunning scenery in the shadows. So take a later train from Bergen if available
@@mattsmoments2 Yes it'll be much better if they've a train at 9am during winter. I think I'll take the 11:50 train then. Perhaps this provides us an opportunity to revisit this lovely railway in summer :) Thanks for your advice!
My pleasure! Enjoy the journey
19h
Not all the time. This particular flight made it there in under 18hrs with a good tail wind
Mbta going nyc 💀💀
Not sure what you’re meaning lol
Is this a safe airline?
Yes
Thank you so much for this one! Subscribbed. Hopefully will do ILG-SJU route!
Thank you for watching and subscribing
Great flight report. I love the socks. We didn't get a close-up of the pin. 15:47 I love red-eye flights. More time in the day to do what you have to, then sleep wake up in a new country. How was the food? Service? Seat comfort?
You’re right about that. Red eyes are great for that reason. Load up on a lot of coffee in my case. lol I thought the food was above average, service was standard and friendly, and seats weren’t anything different than most economy long haul seats. I hope that helps. Thank you for watching
If Cunard Lines merged with Aer Lingus, the name would be "Cun-Lingus"
Oh goodness 🤣 smh
But the merger would leave investors with a bad taste in their mouths. ..
Touché lol
Wow Great review of this route!! fantastic coverage and video of that beautiful plane. that old livery is great. The new livery not so much.
I love the old livery and happy they used it on that route when I flew
Aer lingus is.no longer the national airline of Ireland. Might as well have british airways or ibetiea performing the flight
Good to know. Just going off of what is shown and marketed in the United States..from google and Wikipedia. Our two main search engines.
Aer Lingus is part of IAG (International Airline Group), as are British Airways and Iberia. All three are "legacy airlines": Aer Lingus remains Ireland's national carrier, British Airways remains the UK's national carrier. and Iberia remains Spain's national carrier. 🇮🇪🇬🇧🇪🇸 You're welcome.
Sounds good!
Aer Lingus recently added TSA Precheck. It was announced in July 2024. It may not be in effect yet.
Thank you. That’s good info to know.
It is but you have to call them to add the number to the booking.
I would like to see Aer Lingus fly in too Phoenix Sky Harbor!
X.
❤❤❤❤
cool video brother. i subscribed to your channel
Thank you!
Why Denver…?
Denver is now one of the busiest airports in the USA, is one reason. lol it’s a good market
@@mattsmoments2 Perhaps, seems to me though that Air Fungus has a sizable portion of the US market, JFK, BOS, ORD, SFO, LAX, IAD, SEA, EWR, BDL, MCO, MIA, MSP, CLE (another oddball destination). Hell, they serve as many US destinations as BA. I guess they might add ATL one day, don't know where they would go after that.
@cameraman655 I don’t know their image in Europe but places in the United States love having random international flights to Europe no matter who it is. Turkish started in DEN too one month after Aer Lingus did. The airport there is constantly attracting international carriers.
So everyone in Ireland can go skiing in Colorado, doh! I can now fly direct to DIA without having to change aircraft in either Europe or in the U.S.
Dublin is the 5th busiest airport for transatlantic travel in Europe now, so a lot of people connecting. There’s rumours of Indianapolis, Columbus, Nashville and St. Louis being added next year
