- Should some junk stay in the junkyard? Maybe, but most cars deserve a second chance. In this episode of Roadkill, Finnegan and Newbern give new life to a ’57 Chevy Bel Air that was pulled from a junkyard after more than 30 years. With the help of Flying Sparks Garage, the guys drop in a small-block V-8 and Turbo 350 to get the car back on the pavement for a bumpy road trip back to where it came from.

I am a SOUTH Korean and my great grandfather was an owner of Chevy Bel Air model 1957. Good to see that old engine roars once more!
Magnets on the bottom or in the bottom attract rust keeps it out of the fuel lines.
84 corvette fuel filters are 10 micron. Will catch sediment befor it gets in the fuel pump check valves and limits the pumps ability to pull fuel from the tank and hold pressure to the carb.
Cleaning out fuel lines with a universal speedometer cable core and a variable speed drill works great.
1994 ford probe 2.0 automatic fuel filters are 10micron and 5/16 hose and cheap. Far better than the transparent plastic versions

This car just looks SO good . Shots of it driving in the rain, just made me so happy to see this. (especially from an Australian perspective, where I have seen maybe 10 - 15 '57 Chevs in my entire life)

Yeah... this isn't Roadkill. It's like the band broke up and everyone is doing their own thing now. This should have been a Faster with Finnegan or Finnegan's Garage, not Roadkill.

@@harlandheuter417 roadkill was a one of a kind show with 2 great dudes who were genuine to the show and to each other that’s what made it awesome it wasn’t scripted like other car shows and the cars weren’t showroom quality like other shows it was just having fun

@@Bearason ironically, this content still works on guys like me up in the rust belt, because anything this old left outside is by now rusted into tissue-paper-level bodywork. I have a 56 ford-door in my woods where the trunklid has torn loose of the hinges, for example.
This takes me back to my younger days wen I was driving a beautiful blue 64 Fairlane 2 door stick 6. It used two qts of oil on about a 50 mile drive home one day & I pulled that engine/trans out THAT day & then bought 302 C4 combo from a wrecked 68 Fairlane w/ low mileage on the word of a woman I knew. Initially it would just overheat and blow water out of the radiator until my older brother pointed out my mistake; 6 cylinder radiator w/ a V8. I had to put a Hurst cable shifter in it and after a parts guy at Stark Hickey Ford in Royal oak, Mich. found me a factory dual exhaust system for it I absolutely Loved that car! Now I'm 69 years old , retired and cannot do that stuff anymore but I'd simply Love to do that stuff again!
My brother owned a 57 rag top when I was a kid he sold it for a 1000.00 back in 1980 I always though is was cool back then ,and I still think it still is cool today ,thxs for sharing your 57 Chevy story you guys are fun to watch and thank you for doing what you do

I just find it sad.
In the episode were they hellcat swapped mayhem, they said they’d never go mainstream TV… But here we are just a short few years later.

Considering you can build an entire 57 chev out of catalog parts and not one OEM part...and it came with a small block...this isn't exactly an impossiblity. should it be driven with worn out bushings and single pot drum brakes? no. but a high school shop class could accomplish this. A 62 AMC Rambler from the rust belt, now that would be interesting to watch.
