Figured it out before the end of the vid, but thank you so much for the suggestions! Turned out I had something (some area perhaps) selected. Once I went to the selection menu and selected none, I was in business!

Awesome video but wondering how do you get gimp to work with a drawing tablet? I got one that works on blender 2d animation and Krita were you hold the pen draw lightly or press down hard and it shows on screen the difference on how hard I press pen down but gimp don't do it or not setup to... anyways great video again 😁

My problem is that my brush is painting only white and i can't change every option, just few of it. It is set on normal and default. Also no matter if its pencil or brush it paints with weird kind of texture/brush

I'm having a problem where all of my Paint brushes are stuck at full hardness, with no partial transparency along the edges. I've confirmed I'm on RGB mode, normal layer, brush hardness says it's at 25%, force is greyed out but it looks like it's at about 50%.

Easiest way is to turn Dynamics off :)
