I was thinking to download some new brushes, but this video gave me the tools to create my own. This will be great to create a hair brush...to put facial hair, or head hair...esp with the animated brush. Thanks for another excellent tutorial

Very fine tutorial! Its great to create your own brushes but there are many brushes available for D/L. I've used abr (Photoshop) and png brush files in GIMP. Are there any others?
Do you have any tutorials on how to make a brush that will start off as red on a white background, but whenever hit crosses a red spot, the brush turns white? So, if I want to draw a line through letters, it will automatically invert from red to white as I cross the letters with the brush?

the brush i have is cracks.abr but i want the rust texture with that brush so how can i keep that brush and use my texture
Is it possible to make .gih brush but if you go right it by default activate one layer and if you go left it activate by default other layer and if you go up or down it do same like previously mentioned? Because I'm trying to make sketch brush but it look nice if i go down or left, but it look to much rounded if I go right or up
Please instruct. I am trying to make a brush from a sketched of a bee character for my children’s book. I want to remove the background where just the bee is seen. I tried to go to image menu-mode-then gray scale. My next step was layer-add alpha channel. The white background still remained. I have added the sketch so you can visualize better what I am writing about.

I get a 'permission denied' notice when I try to save a new brush to my brushes file. Changed my admin permission settings but still get the same denied result. Any suggestions?

Show us how to create smoke brushes in gimp
Use an image of smoke and save it. Or invert the image to get it black. So that it can be saved as a normal brush and take on any color, when you paint. He gave you all the tools already to create, just apply what he said in this tutorial
