hello all. Pepsi’s pet parent here. here’s a little backstory on our kitty. previous to this groom Pepsi has been going to the vet for sedation grooms due to her spiceyness. as she is now pushing 12 years old we don’t feel comfortable doing that anymore. when pepsi was a kitten she got into a plant and ended up getting super sick. she was constipated and had to have surgery. since that occurred she has ALWAYS been sensitive around her bum. she lets us brush and comb her up until we reach her backend. then it’s game over. it’s not that we’re scared to touch her, it’s that we can’t and don’t want to break the routine we have going. I booked this appointment hoping to have her bum shaved in case there was matting or to prevent it. since Vanessa was unsuccessful (although got more nails done then I could ever lol) we will have to figure something else out and discuss options with our vet. I appreciate Vanessa trying as I know Pepsi is problematic 😂 so thank you again Vanessa for dealing with our grumpy old lady ❤❤
Thank you for popping in with her backstory. They are smart, and they remember trauma. I have a cat who is still weird about the positioning of her food bowl due to be shocked, scared and splashed with a dropped cup of tea in the kitchen when she was younger. So, I sympathise. Pepsi is beautiful.
I love seeing the “failed” attempts. It really helps see the reality that it’s not always as simple as it sounds. Of course your goofy reactions and jokes don’t hurt to watch!
She’s the perfect storm of spicy, strong and clever. Her victory will be talked of for many generations in the feline community. She might want to consider mellowing in her older age if she starts having trouble maintaining her clean and tidy floof however!
How’s it clever for a cat to stop someone from cleaning your butt and trimming the hair around the butt so there’s no gross cat crap stuck and matted there? Nope that’s hardly smart or clever 😂🙄
In stubborn old lady defiance: *_No_* *I don't care, I don't you messing with it!* But you have crap all over you-- *_leave it! I said get! I'll deal with it myself later!_* But you never do--! *_I. Don't. Care! Leave me alone!_*
What an absolutely FEISTY cat! Accepted the treat and still fought tooth and nail not to let Vanessa touch her. Though I must say, appearance-wise that feline lady is quite beautiful.
Amazing that the cat was that drugged and still feisty. Can't imagine when he's lucid. When the owners are afraid to give their cat a bath, you know it's bad.
I love that look that cats give you of " I'm pardoning your life right now", the moment you put the bubble on her head you were her worst enemy. As a vet I have learned to accept that there are some cats that no matter what you do, they will not work with you, it's the way of life I guess
Experienced rescue cat mom here. To deal with this level of feisty the cat needs to be burritoed in a huge blanket. I typically sit on the floor with really thick jeans and thick towel over my lap. That way I can use my legs as extra arms. Then take one paw out at a time. I still have to do this with my sweet former feral kitten Maybel. Maybel comes when she's called, and wakes me up to pet her ... but claw clipping is where her sassy comes out. Took over five years until she wasn't pissed and hissing at me for the rest of the day. Luckily she's short haired and the cleanest cat I've ever had so she's never needed a bath. Had a strong ginger Main Coon cross rescue "Azzy" that unfortunately needed semi-regular baths because he had poop issues (poor boy was kicked as a kitten by an evil person, which led to constipation issues). He had fishhook shaped claws. Burrito technique also works in the bath. Highly recommend a non-slip bath mat!
I gotta say, I kind of hate the "just roll them in a towel like a burrito" advice. I had a cat who knew just what the towel was for the first time she saw it. No way was she letting me get near her with that "burrito" nonsense.
Thick jean fabric is definitely the way to go for protective clothing against cats. Even thinner, stretchy jeans will hold up well against the claws. I had to wrestle a big, half-feral cat into a cage a while ago and my jean jacket has a bit more character now, but I didn't even get a scratch.
Ok, thank you. I had the impression from your videos that you could make any kitty groom work but I just don’t think my one could be bathed safely. Thank you for showing that not all kitties are amenable.
on her second channel theres another cat she failed to fully groom bc the poor thing got too stressed & was panting. cats are definitely so much more iffy than dogs for grooming
@nckojita I felt so bad for that poor baby. Pearl seemed like such a sweet darling ♥️ I'm glad she was OK, I was worried she hurt herself whilst struggling like that 😢
I think in this case, she realized the cat didn't have mats, so putting the cat through stress wasn't worth it. If the cat was actually matted, I think she would have continued with the nail clipping and shave of the affected areas.
I mean, she is definitely a dog groomer first. You can even tell how she always goes "good cat" rather than "good boy/girl" like she does with dogs that she's emotionally distant with cats.
I had the loveliest cat ever, but she hated anything related to grooming. Our vet had a kind of tough sock that could Velcro shut all over so she could check her teeth. Somehow she managed to get out of that sock… at the respectable age of 22. She was a legend
Omg you tell them “be careful she’s a handful” and then they come back saying “what are you talking about she’s so sweet” and you look at the cat like they’ve betrayed you bc now you look like an idiot😂😂😂😂
That cat is down right loving compared to my favorite farm cat. This beast was hissing and spitting at day two! That has been her personality ever since!
That’s what makes you love them. They’re just so cute and mean at the same time. I like being around mean ass little kids too bc they’re wicked smart. Just want to be understood and loved .
After spending a week in hospital from an infected cat bite, its given me deeper appreciation for what you do. Bites are no joke and as I have learned, can be life threatening.
You are absolutely right. ANY animal bite needs immediate medical treatment. I have been bitten twice and ended up needing surgery to clear out the infection. Don't hesitate to see a doctor, you can lose a limb or die from an animal bite!❤
yep, my cat bit my finger and i had to have surgery and iv antibiotics for two weeks, cause i waited overnight to go to the hospital. its been three months and my finger is still swollen, no permanant damage thankfully, apart from the cosmetic. When a cat bites you hard enough to draw blood, go straight to the ER, people!
One of things I always do is immediately after a bite or scratch I use Hibiclens to wash the crap out if ut. Even use q tips to really get it in the wound
As an animal communicator and handler myself I feel so incapable when watching amazing gurus like yourself but you sharing this experience is a relief tbh. Thank you for showing us this very real aspect of animal handling and letting us know we are all human.🖤✨️
The vet put a warning on the file for one of my cats. The vet used heavy suede gloves that went up to the elbow. When the cat got diabetes and periodically had to spend the day at the vet getting blood tests, he gave up even trying to take my cat from the built-in cages to my crate. My cat would be so mad it looked like his eyes were whirling in circles. That shocked me. But I just waited until he responded to the sound of my voice & double-checked that my finger smelled right and out he would calmly come, climbing into my arms. I really got a laugh when he turned his head and hissed at the vet. He's gone to that big cat playground in the sky (where there aren't any vets 😉), but I still remember him fondly.
My heart-cat (my first cat after I moved away from home, and the one I still miss terribly more than 15 years after his passing) had "BITES" on his file at his first vet. Since Sammy had never been a biter at home (never did more than hiss or swat a little at visitors he didn't like up to that point, although he did fight other cats when he managed to escape my apartment), I was more than a bit surprised. Then I found out that the (brand new) vet tech had -- with zero warning -- just reached into his carrier and hauled him out backwards. He bit her right through the very, very thin leather gloves she was wearing. All I could think was, "Well, DUH!! You probably smelled of other scared animals, and you pulled a stupid maneuver." I suggested that perhaps thicker gloves and/or NOT dragging them out backwards would be a good start for meeting new cats (or, y'know, sticking to dogs since she obviously wasn't a cat person). Sammy's next vet was a bit smarter. We warned him that Sammy'd had a bit of a traumatic experience with that vet tech, so when Sammy refused to walk out his carrier, New Vet simply detached the lid and started working. Sammy was a bit surprised, but then decided he liked this guy (until the blood draw, anyway). This vet also let me or hubby come in the back with Sammy so we could help calm him.
My last cat also had a warning in her file and sometimes on her Carrier box 😂 But outside the clinic she was the sweetest thing ever, I really miss her 😢
I had a cat that was so mellow, neighborhood children could come over and carry her around in a fashion that could not have been comfortable for her, and yet at the vet she was so vicious she bit right through one of those leather gloves and drew blood.
PEPSI: "Is there no one in this pitiful shop POWERFUL enough to challenge me?!" TGWTD: "Nope." PEPSI: "A pity. Prepare my carriage so that I may depart with grace. Also, more of that 'treat' stuff."
My childhood cat, a long-haired, part Persian Calico (beautiful but deadly) absolutely did not want to be trimmed, but also didn't like to be combed, so the mats built up to the point that my parents had to cut them off. They took her to the basement wearing heavy gardening gloves and heavy long sleeves and managed to cut off the hair mats, but you'd have thought they were torturing her to do it. I have never since heard sounds like that come from any other animal. It's a good thing the neighbors couldn't hear it, they would have called the authorities on us.
Come on... I had a cat, his name was slasher. His first time at the vet, the vet asked us what his name was, as his wife/assistant was applying bandages to his hands... "his name is slasher." . . . Vet just nods, lol.
i love that 😭 my cat’s name is Grim. i named her before i met her so it wasn’t based on personality. (actually her name is from a video game character Grim, from twisted wonderland) but i’ll be damned if she hasn’t grown into her name well. she’s a lil bastard to her core and i love her dearly for it. i joke that my dog definitely isn’t a guard dog but she is a guard cat
My cat was red tagged at the groomers so i had to bathe her and cut her nails. I learned how to shave her when she was matted evrn though i brushed her everyday. She really only loved me and lived to be 19 years old. Still fiesty to the end, but i loved her.❤
My mom's cat was like this. In a way, I thought it was cool that Mittens bonded to my mom and only my mom. My dad could touch her when she allowed it. Once I moved out, the cat would just hiss and growl at me. She didn't use claws or anything, but she would lunge and swipe whenever I walked by her. >-> I was super happy for my mom, but damn I didn't like that cat sometimes. All four of mine are super chill and love other people.
My mom’s cat was like that. I had her first and she was a very sweet kitty. Gave her to mom and she became a she-devil who only let mom touch her. What are these old ladies doing to these cats???
I have a feeling my gorgeous Maine Coone Mandu is going to be like this. I'm the only one who can touch, comb, and deshed him but he needs some matts shaved. I'd love to take him to a groomer but would not be surprised if he's just as spicy under sedation.
One day I had to assist the vet with my cat because the only nurse called in sick. And my cat is a big strong "field and meadow" mix, as my mom used to call him. I had to hold him down so the vet could check out his latest injury and my usually sweet and kind little fluff ball turned into a 20lbs agile athletic murder machine. He's an outdoor cat and I learned the hard way that you have to really use force when they try to get away. So yes, I know a smart and spicy cat, and you did great! :)
Don't feel bad, some cats are just like that. We had an amazing groomer (who only does cats), she was the ultimate cat-whisperer. One of our cats (RIP) used to throw her for a loop thanks to being incredibly wily and also being one of those cats who would go from being the sweetest old lady to being a psycho without much warning. The groomer could work on the cat for up to five minutes at a time, which would be followed by about fifteen minutes for the cat to calm down, and then she'd get another few minutes of effort in before having to have another break. If it hadn't been for health issues in the cat's old age, we'd never have put the cat (or the groomer) through it. That cat was also notorious for terrorizing vet techs. Again, sweetest tiny cat until she really didn't like a situation, then she'd lose her shit and go for blood. People who didn't take the warnings seriously ended up regretting it.
Sometimes the tiniest ones are the hardest to control. I think it's because we can't help but be aware that we really could hurt them, so we have to pull our punches, while they don't!
My cat is like that. He's an absolute ball of love and affection...until you start touching him in ways he doesn't like. I know some cats are just wired that way, but he also had a rough first 2 years from what the shelter told me, which I'm sure didn't help things. I think he learned that the only way he could stop treatment/touching he didn't care for was to go for blood. It took several months after I got him for him to realize regular petting wasn't going to suddenly change into paw touching/tail pulling.
Had a similar cat. Giant warning on the front of her file at the vet “CAUTION, EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE CAT” took 3 vet techs+vet to administer medication. She was about 6lbs. My 80lbs Rottweiler was terrified of this cat.
@AuskaDezjArdamaath When taking one of our cats to a new vet for the first time they noted his file "Confirmed: Good boy" and it made me chuckle (he's literally a lump and does not care what anyone does to him) but now I'm seeing it differently. "Confirmed: this one isn't looking for blood" 😅😅 Now I'm curious what our other cats have noted. They're all well tempered for us but maybe we've got a secret hellion. 😂
Finally a Nebelung Kitty! Sorry Pepsi was one rude customer. The Nebelung is the long-hair coat counter-part to the Russian Blue, these cats are not a recognized TICA breed but a type and their coats can be any shade of grey or blue with small amounts of white. Nebelung is a German word for CREATURE OF THE MIST/FOG
Some things are better left alone, and Pepsi didn't have any matting so being able to ascertain that was a plus, I'd say. I'd call the end result more "relinquishing the field before things got really out of hand" than an actual defeat. Pepsi was just not having any part of the experience except the treats. Oh my!
From Pepsi's POV: I'm feeling odd - not good. Tucked into the carrier - never a good thing. Car ride - Not Good. Taken someplace I don't know - Not Good. Bribed with food by a stranger - Not Good. Stranger puts an empty fish bowl on my head - Really Not Good. Stranger tries to clip nails. Really Not Good. We won't even begin to discuss that towel thing. My owner is definitely going to hear about this all the way home and for days afterwards! Valiant job, Vanessa!
oooh geez, I can't say I blame either of you. I'm a petsitter and don't like working with very spicy cats either. I had one kitty client who did not like me (or anyone other than their humans) and last year they told me that she's on insulin now which would require me to give her injections 2x day and I told them I couldn't do it. So, I'm no longer their sitter.
I commend your attempt. You were very patient and loving with her. The same cannot be said for her towards you. Never would have guessed she was 12 years.
I’m glad there are so many spicy cats out there with loving owners who, firstly, are willing to tolerate all the BS that comes with em, but also are the kind of kindred spirit who can *calm* the stressed out cat in a stressful world ❤ I’m glad they get love too beyond just me
I’ve been watching & marveling at your cat grooming videos & this is the 1st one that I recognize any behaviors of the cats I’ve had over the years. I have generally been able to clip their claws, but even the idea of giving them a bath makes me quiver in fear, lol.
LOL that cat is hella spicy! This is why we're socializing our kittens to the feel of being brushed and I've been clipping their claws at home, to try and minimize how spicy they'll be when they really need a bath or brush out. The 2 boys are WAY easier to handle than their much tinier sister. Some cats just do not like to be handled. I'm so lucky that my oldest in general lets me do whatever I need, and his stranger danger when being handled by a vet means he sits there frozen solid and lets them do whatever as well
I'm sure my extremely docile cat would have acted the same way. When she had to be hospitalized for a few days, I was surprised when her Vet called me and said I had to pick her up 2 days earlier than planned because she was too aggressive. I was stunned: I had never heard anyone call her aggressive as she was such a sweetheart. I soon learned over multiple times in the hospital that she wasn't particularly welcome, though they did take good care of her. Students from the high school would come in and pick her up and brush her and tidy her up which mystified the staff. I had to eventually have her PTS when she was in total renal failure and had severe liver issues. The hardest day of my life. The sedation she was given before putting her to sleep worked the opposite and she flew out of my arms and ran around the room like she was possessed. When the vet finally grabbed her, he couldn't even place her on my lap because she was so agitated. She passed without me holding her. I then went home and took my dishes out of the cupboard and smashed them on the floor. I was inconsolable for weeks. 5 days before her 15th birthday 😢
I am sorry for your pain, I understand it well. This past summer not just one but both of our 2yr old cats went outside never to be seen again. I couldn't believe how much I cried for so long afterward. I'll never know what happened to them and I would imagine the most horrible things. 😢
Yes. I know this scenario VERY well. I wouldn't say it was a complete fail as you were able to do a few of the nails. The fact you even attempted I give you props. Cats are...they are on another level when it comes to tending to them. Blessings to you. Hope the scratch heals soon 😊
That's how my spicy tortie is. She goes from sweet to aggressive af extremely quickly, but I've gotten very good at reading her body language and telling when she's about to lose it. She's a caution for vet visits and has to be drugged beforehand. Even then she can still be a problem and my vet works very quickly to get her visit over as soon as possible while still be thorough in the exam. For her most recent annual I was able to trim the nails myself the night before and that saved us a lot of time at the clinic. It's amazing how quickly a 14lb cat can push through the effects of 100mg of gabapentin.
That's how my muted tortie is- her last visit was the first time we sedated her and she still tried to tear the exam room apart. The vet was like "we'll wait for the tech and then we'll bring her back for bloodwork" then looked over and saw her trying to climb behind the mini-fridge while unplugging everything and said "....or maybe I'll just bring her back now" 🤣 but I love my little murderfloof
@@ladynoi Mine just goes for blood. No trying to escape or anything. She knows to go for the face too. I'll see her eyeing me when she's mad and I know she's watching my face waiting for the right moment.
A tip that works with my psychotic cat is using the slicker brush straight away. After she gets a few bum scratches with it and gets worked up, you can do anything providing you are still brushing and it doesn't involve liquid. My other cat (a lot friendlier) just needs to boof the slicker brush and she's yours. haha
My cat, Moxie, is surprisingly really good with getting her claws clipped. Not once during the clipping does she swipe, bite, or hiss at me. She just meows and tries to pull her paw away when she's uncomfortable. Then when it's all done she settles down and immediately looks at me like "treat now? I was good I deserve treat!" so i give her a few for being a good girl for me
My cat used to be a real tigress when it came to clipping her nails, with full on hissing, clawing and biting. Now she's a big girl and she realized that it's not painful, that it's faster if she doesn't fight it, and also that she'll get a treat afterwards
My cat is great with clipping claws too, doesn’t even complain, just flops down and lets me do whatever I need to. I don’t know how I got so lucky with her, she never bit or scratched me or anyone in my house. She loves guests and is so friendly, doesn’t hide from anyone and is very outgoing. Unbelievably I got her from a shelter when she was 5 years old (9 now). She was surrendered because she was too aggressive for her previous family….
@@Agnesse777 Moxie is also very friendly (once you sit down) and has only bitten me a couple times (not hard, just as a warning that she was getting overstimulated). I got her from the local Humane Society when she was about 4 1/2. Not sure how she was there but when I first met her she was SUPER social and just wanted to cuddle and be pet so ofc I had to get her
I appreciate that you are willing to show videos from when things don't go so well. Shows everyone that you are human, and that yes, not every pet is socialized well enough for grooming!
Thank you for giving people a better appreciation for pet care, for pet breeds, and for what groomers go through to give pets what they need. I hope you, the cameraman and your staff have a very merry Christmas.
1:39 Oop, yep, I know that sound. It's not a great sound. 😆 Pepsi's the kind you really got to watch out for -- she's got the smarts AND that killer instinct. I'm just glad she didn't manage to bite you.
That look and slow walk into the carrier was telling you that your life was pardoned, but you will not be forgotten human. Lol! You are far more brave than I am or most are when it comes to animals! Thank you for sharing!
"Pepsi - Mean Cat" first 3 seconds and I'm already dying 😂 Reminds me of my kitty. It takes two of us to trim her nails, I have to scruff her and full on pin her to me. Otherwise everyone involved is getting cut. And even then,.some days she can break out of that. All 9 lbs of her...
Mine is like that, but he's a big boy and weighs 18 pounds 😂 have you tried doing it during their main snooze? That's the only way I can do nails and teeth, by the time he wakes up and realises what's happening it's all done 😂
@@paulinakonopka9211 I have not. I will have to attempt it. Last time we tried I pulled back a stump. Thanks for the suggestion! My little one was a feral stray before we adopted her, and it sure does show sometimes...
I've had a cat actually climb up my body and proceed to kick the crap out of me. That was 20 years ago, and I still have many scars, so I award you both heroes 😂😂❤❤
My fiesty former-feral hates being picked up or held in any way, but she fortunately turns into a (crying) limp blob once you get her into the bath (although it has been years since I had to give her a bath).
I’m chuckling watching this. This kitty is NOTHING compared to one of my cats! I no longer try to clip her nails. I do have my Kevlar oven gloves & brush her quickly once daily to prevent matting. As she screams at me and the dog barks frantically from the other room worried for my safety haha!
Sometimes the best thing to do is accept defeat and not risk a trip to the emergency room for stitches and a cautionary tetanus shot! I think Pepsi needs spicy medication for her spicy personality, basically a trip to the vets to get knocked out and a necessary trim of the murder mittens and the cat version of a bowl cut for any mats 😂
Thank you. You might feel like you failed. But I learnt something I really needed to know. In about August I adopted 2 dust bunnies. Bro and Sis cats. 5 years old. Kind of grey and grey and muted brown and... dust bunny coloured. So what I really needed to be reminded : It is temperament that counts. And they are lovely.
The cat attitude can be summed up as "No means No, Yes means Yes; aggressiveness will raise address" and "these terms are subject to change without notice"
First, let me say, I LOVE your new logo at 4:45. This video just makes me appreciate the fact that my cat is insanely gentle and loves everyone he meets.
I had an internship at a vet. They do nail trims on all animals there, and they have a very useful way of holding them down. With bigger dogs, it does require three people. However, with smaller dogs and cats, you can usually do it with just two people.
"She's stoned and still rude😤" cracks me up lol

My cat will act like this with me sometimes but if I take her to the vet she becomes limp and docile and they boast about how sweet she is!
Omg you tell them “be careful she’s a handful” and then they come back saying “what are you talking about she’s so sweet” and you look at the cat like they’ve betrayed you bc now you look like an idiot😂😂😂😂
Your experience with Pepsi gives new meaning to the phrase ‘bite the hand that feeds you’. Valiant effort Vanessa. We marvel at your courage.
The most literal thing I’ve witnessed lol
That cat is down right loving compared to my favorite farm cat. This beast was hissing and spitting at day two! That has been her personality ever since!
That’s what makes you love them. They’re just so cute and mean at the same time. I like being around mean ass little kids too bc they’re wicked smart. Just want to be understood and loved .
After spending a week in hospital from an infected cat bite, its given me deeper appreciation for what you do. Bites are no joke and as I have learned, can be life threatening.
Oh, ouch! How ya feeling?
You are absolutely right. ANY animal bite needs immediate medical treatment. I have been bitten twice and ended up needing surgery to clear out the infection. Don't hesitate to see a doctor, you can lose a limb or die from an animal bite!❤
Cat scratch fever is real too. Clean those scratches quickly and often.
yep, my cat bit my finger and i had to have surgery and iv antibiotics for two weeks, cause i waited overnight to go to the hospital. its been three months and my finger is still swollen, no permanant damage thankfully, apart from the cosmetic.
Pepsi has such a bubbly personality! 😂
I'd definitely think zesty is more accurate
If by bubbly you mean when you toss mentos into Pepsi then yes, you would be correct.
True 😂😂😂
Yeah... like carbon. :p
What do you mean people? She's all sugar and spice and everything nice 🤣 I love cats 😻
I can't believe you almost got your Cameraman killed. I thought they were immortal.
A defeat every now and then is good for all of us. It keeps us humble. You did your best, and that's all anyone can ask of themselves.
Makes a later victory all the more sweet.
That cat is the hero of every other cat that has being groom.
My cat also has a warning on his file 😂 he has to be lightly sedated for anything 😂😂😂😂
My last cat also had a warning in her file and sometimes on her Carrier box 😂
But outside the clinic she was the sweetest thing ever, I really miss her 😢
I had a cat that was so mellow, neighborhood children could come over and carry her around in a fashion that could not have been comfortable for her, and yet at the vet she was so vicious she bit right through one of those leather gloves and drew blood.
Our long-departed but never forgotten long haired Manx had "DANGER!" written on the outside of his chart with red sharpie.
Most groomers would turn away this cat. I give a big thumbs up 👍🏼 to Vanessa for her patience and efforts. ❤
PEPSI: "Is there no one in this pitiful shop POWERFUL enough to challenge me?!"
TGWTD: "Nope."
PEPSI: "A pity. Prepare my carriage so that I may depart with grace. Also, more of that 'treat' stuff."
This is comment is underrated, it's hilarious. typo edit
That was great
😅 this! 😂😂😂❤
Funny.
This is probably the best comment I've seen today.😂😂
I was amazed that Vanessa was able to get her hand out of the way so quickly.
Oh this story cracked me up 😂😂😂
Thank you for making me feel less inadequate regarding my cat grooming challenges.
Come on... I had a cat, his name was slasher. His first time at the vet, the vet asked us what his name was, as his wife/assistant was applying bandages to his hands... "his name is slasher." . . . Vet just nods, lol.
LOL i had a cat called shocker in high school. you guess why with that one 🤣🤣
@@HUYI1 Shocker like rubbing itself on pile carpet and then touching you with it's tongue? 😁⚡⚡
i love that 😭
my cat’s name is Grim. i named her before i met her so it wasn’t based on personality. (actually her name is from a video game character Grim, from twisted wonderland)
but i’ll be damned if she hasn’t grown into her name well. she’s a lil bastard to her core and i love her dearly for it. i joke that my dog definitely isn’t a guard dog but she is a guard cat
Good story
Vanessa, you gotta use the burrito method with the towel for this level of frisk.
Thanks for being honest and realistic. I think it’s great that you’re willing to show your rare defeats as will as your successes!
Lil' Mama was ready to throw hands! 🤣🤣 . But she truly is a Beauty😍
@@sueholdener4135 Witch crafty things, comes with age :)
and she was sedated!! imagine her at full power lol!
Perhaps a bit more sedation?
Kitty would’ve gone Super Saiyan.
😹😹😹😹
Sorry. Hugs!
Aww, Bless her, everyone is different, especially when they get older. Sounds like she just didn't have time for what she considered "nonsense."
Oh my!
“She’s stoned and still rude.” 😂😂 I lost it. 😭😂😭😂
"...but they're a little too fearful to check that out for themselves." 🤣
4:04 Pepsi looks so innocent.
May be one of the funniest yet. My cat heard her and came over to protect me from that cat!!
I know we don't know each other in person but somehow I feel you are the genuine person who so affectionately groom dogs, cats. god bless you
From Pepsi's POV: I'm feeling odd - not good.
😂 I'm sure.
What would you have done different?
I wouldn't have a cat! LOL@@alext6933
Hilarious look inside Pepsi’s head. Is Pepsi a feral rescue?
If only white people had this kind of empathy and understanding for non white people and not just the animals they own.
1:28 she was definitely plotting your murder in that moment 💀
I had a spicy cat like that for 18 years, and he was a cuddle bug to me, but evil to everyone else! Lol
love this honesty
oooh geez, I can't say I blame either of you.
Her recoil back is like, "Nooooooo not my murder mittens!!!" Lol
I’m glad there are so many spicy cats out there with loving owners who, firstly, are willing to tolerate all the BS that comes with em, but also are the kind of kindred spirit who can *calm* the stressed out cat in a stressful world ❤ I’m glad they get love too beyond just me
I feared for Vanessa's life when I saw the look in Pepsi's eyes. A smart and crazy cat is lethal.😹
I’ve been watching & marveling at your cat grooming videos & this is the 1st one that I recognize any behaviors of the cats I’ve had over the years. I have generally been able to clip their claws, but even the idea of giving them a bath makes me quiver in fear, lol.
Pepsi: "I know where you live and you have to sleep sometime..."😡
I don't think I would've kept that cat! Wow! I dont blame you, Vanessa, and I didn't enjoy your defeat!
shoutout to every cat owner who names their kitty after foodstuffs, y'all make my life brighter
Much sympathy. And hugs if you want them. ❤❤❤
(I lost my boy in September. Four days from starting to not act right to saying goodbye.)
I'm so sorry. 😢
omg. I don’t know what to say, you shouldn’t have had to go through that 🙁I hope you’re feeling less sad with every passing day.
Oh my God !! This is so fucking sad!! 😢 I ‘m so sorry you have to experience that. My heart aches for you.💔😩
I am sorry for your pain, I understand it well.
Spicy Mayo is Vanessa's mean kitty limit. Pissed-off Pepsi is a whole other food group, not to be attempted sans full-body armor.
Thank you for being humble enough to share defeats, the reality of life :)
I use gabapentin for pain.
@@SandraNelson063 Well, it is a pain medication. It's also used to help sedate more anxious animals.
My 19lb cat takes 300mg the night before and the morning of a vet visit. She STILL puts up a fight.
You're lucky, and a safe kitty owner. No murder mittens are being used on you.
Not sure how she was there but when I first met her she was SUPER social and just wanted to cuddle and be pet so ofc I had to get her
@@Wayfarer1312 Rescues are the best pets! My kitty was the same when I met her at the shelter, she just wanted to cuddle 🥹
You didn’t fail, you did the right thing. Love your channel. 🥰❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love how you're able to identify when it's useless to contribute because of your experience.
That motion of you sweeping the table near/under her is what panicked the cat both times. I think kitty saw that as a threat.
Or she was reacting like a hunter to a moving object
@@MaryReed-iy7fq That could be the case too. Either way, maybe don't do that. 🙂
"Pepsi - Mean Cat" first 3 seconds and I'm already dying 😂
Reminds me of my kitty.
Even though she acts crazy when scared I still think she's beautiful 😻 ❤
Goddamn, THAT is stonned?!
I've had a cat actually climb up my body and proceed to kick the crap out of me. That was 20 years ago, and I still have many scars, so I award you both heroes 😂😂❤❤
Wow I can't even imagine how she must be when she isn't sedated. LOL She must be a terror.
Your voice is so calming to me, I listen to your videos when I'm sad
Who's spicier - Pepsi or Mayo?
They give each other a run for their money 😆😆😆😆😆
Pepsi for sure. Mayo just complains a lot more.
I think Pepsi takes crown😂❤

4:18 "I didnt even touch you" 😆😆😅😅
LOL! She is a riot! Oh my gosh what a great kitty! I am sorry she got ya but that’s a battle wound. ❤❤❤❤
Pepsi looked like a little astronaut when you removed her weapons :>>
My fiesty former-feral hates being picked up or held in any way, but she fortunately turns into a (crying) limp blob once you get her into the bath (although it has been years since I had to give her a bath).
Just when I was thinking it's been awhile since seeing you on TH-cam, the notification for this upload popped up 😂
I’m chuckling watching this. This kitty is NOTHING compared to one of my cats! I no longer try to clip her nails. I do have my Kevlar oven gloves & brush her quickly once daily to prevent matting. As she screams at me and the dog barks frantically from the other room worried for my safety haha!
She really didnt like you swiping the hair off the table at the end 😆
OMG....no....just no....some you win, some you lose, and some you just get rained out...
Wow! I never thought you could be completely defeated you're so amazing! Well.. you did clip 3 nails?? :) Thanks for sharing even the tough moments!
I love the new logo animation!!
I think this cat is related to my cat Psycho.
Wow!! Great reflexes! You're fast
There’s spicy and then there’s a million scovills
Then there's so spicy you cool down with a Carolina Reaper.
I had an internship at a vet. They do nail trims on all animals there, and they have a very useful way of holding them down. With bigger dogs, it does require three people. However, with smaller dogs and cats, you can usually do it with just two people.
