Artie's mum here! Thank you Vanessa for another amazing groom for Artie and for sharing our socials. He really is such a chill and loving cat and it's been awesome finding an empathetic groomer that doesn't mind a kitty! Thank you everyone for the kind words, I'm very lucky to have such a special cat and I'll be sure to let Artie know he's the star of the show today!!
We also miss "moody" Muddy very much, he passed unexpectedly from an undiagnosed genetic heart condition but my in-laws who were his parents loved him every minute of every day until he went. Give your own pets a huge tight hug from us.
Artie is so adorable ❤ I'm a Siberian mum too his name is Neo
Hi Arties Mom 👋🏻. Not only is Artie such a beautiful cat, his temperament is unmatched🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Artemis is a females name 😂
Your Kitty is gorgeous!
@@melaniekendall4903 Tell that to the author of Artemis Fowl. 🤷♀️
Did you notice when he batted her with his paw . It wasn't claws out. He just put his paw out like "That's enough".
Just a very polite "Please stop."
Well behaved/trained and/or gentle natured cats usually have quite a lot of restraint and will avoid using claws to get their point across. Some just don't have the mindfulness or understanding of how to retract their claws for some reason, one of my cats always get her claws stuck in furnitures as a result even when she should know better and had no reason to use them (not climbing or scratching).
Yep just a little love tap saying "You can stop now, that is good enough thank you."
My neighbour's cat (who spends a lot of time at my house) does this as well, it's always so funny. When he's had enough of being patted he just pushes my hand down with his paw.
He was like no no more I’m good 😂
“cats have a time limit” never a truer statement
Their patience runs on battery lmao
Like a fluffy cute ticking timebomb 😅❤
@@lilmoka86Yep, so true with my Joey. He gets so Spicey.
I feel them. 😅
Grooming is VERY stimulating and for some kitties, that is very stressful. Taking breaks can be helpful. Treats are good too.
A cat that's gentle when protesting or saying no, is a cat that is used to having that protest respected. He knows he doesn't need to get violent, a gentle push with the paw is going to be enough. Bravo, Artie's humans. All cats deserve that level of respect.
Awe that makes me happy that means my Stormykins feels like I respect her boundaries
so beautiful. But during the drying process his face said 'I did not buy a ticket for this adventure!' Such a good boy.
I agree. At times, Artie looked like a big ball of round fur with a pink nubbin of a barely visible happy hoodie.
I keep thinking that it would be less traumatic if there was a way to isolate the motor or have a quieter one. Maybe an isolation box with the exhaust going to the outside, & a longer hose?
@@sunshine3914 I think that idea is quite feasible. In a house I once lived at, there was a central vacuum system so we didn’t need any freestanding handheld vacuum cleaner. There were a few times where I actually vacuumed my longhair cat’s coat a few times! My daughter, who rode a few times at a swanky stable had a vacuum system where staff old vacuum the Horses coats!
I wonder if having a longer hose to the central blower that was surrounded by a box made of a material like a thick air permeable material would help decrease the noise level.
@@sunshine3914 I know right!! His face slowly turning at 8:02 is so funny and cute but such a pitiful look 😭😭💙
If anyone views The Felis Gallery channel. Featuring Maine Coon Cats, there is a drying box available to purchase! I've stopped watching this channel consistently because there is either refusal or lack of knowledge for this equipment. Which with Her level of professionalism feels not acceptable.
So sorry to hear that Muddy "Moody",passed away, rest in peace, sweet kitty.
He did ?? Oh that sucks ! 😢
@@Jackie-e5b ye seems like owners commented that it had genetic heart issues 😢
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
What kitty?
That was the gentlest kitty paw of "please stop" I think I've ever seen.
We had two Siberian cats, one for almost 18 years, one 17. They were remarkable, the female so smart and who made up games she insisted we play with her. We’re allergic to cats, and well bred Siberians who have no other breeds introduced (for designer coat colors) have less of the Fel D1 protein in their saliva, which is what most people are allergic to. Despite a triple coat, their fur never tangled and was very easy to comb, which they loved. They weren’t ever bathed but they were 100% indoor kitties. RIP Katya and Luka.
Things I learned today😊
Is the triple coat what makes that almost greasy/damp looking fur on his back (at least that's how it looks on the video)?
No, the cats just dirty
@@orientalmoons Siberian fur isn’t greasy at all. But I think it was said he needed a bath because of his adventures, so may be a bit dirty?
Siberians are fantastic. Mt girl is just the sweetest! She loves to play and cuddle and is so affectionate.
Big kudos to Arties servants! He's well socialised, calm, his nails are clipped and his coat is in incredible condition.
especially considering he goes outside often, his coat looks amazing!
"Artie's servants" lmao
But you're right, though ^^
@@LegendarySparantus hadn't you heard the old saying? Dogs have owners, cats have staff.
What a distinguished gentleman
I had a Norwegian forest cat. He was the most fascinating cat I have ever owned. He loved all other animals and all people. He lived 19 years.
My sister had one named Cleo. When it would get super hot in the summer, Cleo would go up to our shallow irrigation canal & take a quick swim. 😸 I never saw her willingly ever take a bath, but on her own terms she was fine with water.
As a partial Norwegian and a human cat lover who can't have pets at present, I am totally jealous.
What a doll baby! His little tap was so polite! “Excuse me miss, but I would prefer that you stop now please”. ❤❤
I love that even your language reflects that there are no "bad" pets. You talk about how grooms stress some animals out and never disparage a pet for having trouble or say that they're bad or doing something wrong. They're not mean, they're not bad, they're upset or they're stressed or they're scared. Your compassion towards every animal you groom is the main reason I watch your channel. Thank you for being so kind and loving with the pets in your care
Pets aren’t usually the problem-the owners are. Either they don’t take proper care of their pets, which leads to painful and stressful grooming sessions or they don’t expose their pets to grooming in the first place or they tolerate bad behavior. Sometimes all of the above.
“Cats don’t like their faces wet”
My neighbor’s orange tank of a cat that tries to headbut sprinklers - “Am I a joke to you?”
😂
Epic!
Orange cats are built different
😹😹
@@northstarjakobsagree! Mine is very shrewd
This is the first cat in a while that has accepted the kitty gogurt. He’s such a pretty boy 💚
The best ones are so engrossed in the food, they let her do anything as long as they keep eating.
i feel happy when they actually accept it
It's so satisfying when they accept the tubes! On a side note, I just learned that Yoplait tubes are called Gogurt outside of Canada 🤯😵💫
He's got gorgeous blue eyes!
I agree, beautiful blue eyes
Well pure ragdolls got all blue eyes. It is how you easily can see that artemis is not a ragdoll. Among other signs
The cats move like animatronics whenever she gives them a bath😂 so adorable lol
That's kinda true 😂
They are just so focused on planning out the best escape route if needed
Five Nights at Artie’s
Our kitties LOVED brushing. They would both come running when we brought the brushes out.😂
Nina is ALL about the brushies! She rolls all over, making biscuits and purring like an Evinrude motor.
Me too. One was a tux shorthair, the other black longhair, siblings of a stray. The LH was so furry that passing strangers asked if he was part bear! They’d each roll over once they started purring, so I could get their bellies and armpits. They lived to 19 and 21. They loved being groomed as part of our affection. All I used was a wire slicker like Vanessa’s, and a small metal grooming comb like hers with half wider and half narrower teeth. Still miss them.
we gently tap it on the floor and they come meowing at us to get brushed. They love being scrached.
My girl does too
Depending on the kind of brush and brushing technique, most cats love it
Artemis is a beautiful cat. Kudos to his owner for taking such good care of him.
I love how he dived into the “house”, but then politely ate the treat. What a great cat, so,patient and calm
I've had 2 Norwegians and both of them were awesome. That breed seems to have such wonderful personalities and both cats were lovable, friendly, weird, and adventurous.
Siberians are a little different, both in conformation and temperment. They also tend to be one-person cats (like dogs).
@@karenburrows9184 Males seem less one-person than females.
@@5redheadofdoom5 I’ve only met one Norwegian and she was so so sweet!
@@karenburrows9184 I’d never heard that and we had two Siberians for years, went to cat shows (not with them!), and knew one breeder well. Agree with the somewhat dog like - well, at least for our male. But both were very outgoing when people were around. Well, actually Katya liked being in the thick of things but only touched by those she chose. Luka loved everyone. They were well socialized.
@@karenburrows9184 for dogs it depends a lot on the breed. Some love everyone and would invite thieves into their homes, others one person, and everything in between. The older book, “How to Choose the Right Dog for You,” by Tortora, a veterinarian, contains charts for most breeds that rank the breed on a number of traits, really fascinating.
He’s so beautiful! Love that his coat is full of “vegetation”. Life well lived.
Artemis is a sweet, handsome kitty. Beautiful coat.
One of the ladies at the retirement home I work at has an 18 year old Siberian cat named Buster and he's the laziest and sweetest kitty I've ever met. All he wants to do is sleep on the couch (which we call his throne) and be fed treats and Fancy Feast.
Arty even looks like Buster.
What a good cat! RIP to his kitty friend
The happy hoodie looks extra funny on cats 🤣 I bursted out laughing when the video cut to the blowdrying 🤣🤣🤣
It's extra funny on the floofy ones like artie imo. Like a little ball attatched to a cloud of fluff.
His face in the happy hoodie was extra sweet.
My cat is black and super fluffy. I got her a happy hoodie but had to change it's name to murder hoodie because she suddenly looks and acts like she will murder anyone who come near.... she's normally the sweetest cat
He is one very beautiful marked Forest cat. I am impressed at the quality of his coat upkeep. Props to the wonderful owner for keeping up on his coat paws and claws ❤
Artemis is a sweetie! I’ll check out his adventures ❤
Oh my gosh! He is so cute! I agree!
When you look up "chill cat" in the dictionary, you see Artemis' picture.
He is such a cute floof! I just want to hug him and give him pets!
2:42-4:05
Might be the Calmest Cat I've seen in a bath. Like. Ever.
What a welbehaved and sweet paw.
11:40 the gentlest of No’s. Very kindly, no thank you he said. Such a pretty baby!
I had an old (18 at the time) DSH cat that developed mats. I was able to get most of them out with a mat splitter but found a groomer for those I couldn't do. They did a great job. He lived to be 19.5 yo. He was a real snuggler.
Those beautiful blue eyes oh my hes is stunning
His face during bath - "why must she do that to me?" "Ok I understand she want to help me keep my fur clean but why can't she lick me like a normal cat?" 🐱
Love how floofy Siberians are
Yeah, they actually have a triple coat rather than a double coat like other long haired/medium long haired cats😊. Extra fur to fly around😂
You do a service for pet owners that cannot be given a value. Your passion, skill and compassion for the owners is always evident. Thank you so much from a future dog owner.
The Churu solves any unhappiness!
My cat Giuseppe Puss hates being bathed and if he doesn't have someone feeding him Churu while I am bathing him, he will climb the walls!
Arty was such a gentle little fellow and so handsome!
My cat does not care
I love the absorber towel! I got it a little while ago and it works great on my Chow Chow after baths, it's the only towel he's okay with!
That cat is gorgeous
THANK YOU for being such an loving pet care giver..... You are AMAZING!!!!! Grooming may be your profession but you are so much more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU
Artie is a very pretty cat. Those eyes are simply irresistible and that face is adorable.❤❤❤❤❤
Artie's little face visibly cheered up when he got his treat reward at the end. Soooo CUTE!!! I love him.
Lol immediately into the house! He knew what that meant.
He’s got a big, fluffy plume for a tail. He’s simply gorgeous 💙💙💙
That the towel has to be wet first before drying is kinda contradictory to what you would think. I’d never heard this before. Thank you for the PSA.
Not sure if you'd know what a cooling towel or a shamwow is, but they work sort of similar in that they need to be lightly wet to work, too. Like when you squeeze a sponge firmly but not hand-is-shaking-from-squeezing-too-hard firm if that makes sense 😅

Note that this seems to be specific to that particular kind of towel, not towels in general.
I'm guessing it's because it improves the absorption? Wet things and water molecules kinda "stick" to eachothers and if the towel is very absorbant, it'll absorb all the moisture from whatever less absorbant surfaces it's used on even though the towel is wet.
He's so pretty and a good boy. Grooming obviously isn't his favorite thing, but he handled it well
such a beautiful cat!!! this channel has quickly become a favorite of mine-i love how gentle, sweet, and responsive vanesa is. ❤️ thanks for all that you do for our fur babies!!!
He is a beautiful boy…
Such an adorable little kitty, hope he gets tons of pets and hugs.
We just lost our gorgeous Siberian boy yesterday so it was lovely seeing this gorgeous kitty! Siberians are the best!
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I’m sorry for your loss. My boy is 11 and I’m dreading that day:(
Oh I am so very sorry for your loss!
@melovesawyer your cat is just a baby compared to our cat she is 16 and acts like a kitten.
@@daniellewoolley8607 you can lose a cat at any age. Our 10 year old had a loose tooth. We took him to the vet and he had advanced cancer in the roof of his mouth. He had lost a lot of weight in a short time. He didn't show any signs of sickness until 6 months before he had to cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge.
It makes me so happy to see such a beautiful cat being so well taken care of by his owner :)
What lovely patterning!!
I love his eyes!! They are so gorgeous!!
I watch these it somehow relaxes me to see a cat coping with being groomed. I feel as if i was the cat and getting calmed.
At 10:40 when he came up to you and you said “Hi! What are you doing?” Artemis’s said “I,m trying to distract you from my tail!”. Just love your videos. Thank you for sharing.
I think Artimis is the best behaved, and socialized cat I've seen on your channel. What a lovely boy,
This is the most rag doll looking Siberian forest cat lol
Yes, at shows the judges seem to favor the traditional tabbies b/c their confirmation is almost always closer to the standard. But Artemis is cute and well cared for, just not bred to standard.
Arty was really nice...and fed up! So kind! 💛🤎🩶🤍
We had a ragdoll/Mainecoon mix. He would jump into the shower, then look around like....Wait, what? This isn't what I thought was going on.....
14 years and he just never could remember...
Such a pretty, sweet-tempered kitty! Come again, Artie!
Gorgeous boy…so sad he lost his kitty brother!😭 I love Forest Cats, my late father in law had a Norwegian Forest Cat & I was utterly obsessed with him. He was magnificent, those enormous paws! And so smart, right from kittenhood.
such a pretty kitty!
Now I want me an Artie… what a beautiful cat both in looks and temperament
Love that absorber towel.
For those wondering why you need to wet it first and then wring it out to use, it’s the same principle as your cellulose sponge. Weigh a fully dry sponge, then let it absorb water and re-weigh it. That’s how much water it absorbed. Now wring out that sponge really well, re-weigh it, and let it absorb water again. Now weigh the wet sponge. You’ll find that it absorbed more water when it was damp than it did when it was fully dry. I used to teach this lesson to my students during science class. Don’t have a scale? Wring the water into a glass and see the level. You’ll see that glass with the water from the damp sponge will have more in the glass.
Then I’d have them try the same idea at the bathrooms with the paper towels. Some kids were only allowed to take one paper towel after washing their hands, but I told them to really fully use the towel before throwing it away. The others were allowed to take three and dry their hands. The towels they used were definitely drier than the ones their classmates had used. But the kids who took three towels didn’t have as dry hands as the kids who only used one despite the one-towel kids tossing clearly wet towels. It’s the same principle. Try it the next time you’re in a public restroom.
He's one of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen!
This is only my second time seeing and hearing about Siberian Forest cats, but they're quite intriguing to me now.
I've always liked ragdolls and Norwegian Forest cats as well as Maincoons, and from what I've seen so far they seem to make a very good mix out of all of them, at least look-wise.
Having owned one, they're wonderful kitties.
There no 'SIberian forest cat'. Its just Siberian cats.
I love the refluffing part of the groom!
This is the most Beautiful Cat I've ever seen, his eye's are incredible 😸
Fellow siberian human here with fun-fact about siberian forest cats: cats with Artemis-like fur color are called Neva Masquerade.
Also it is quite common here to see siberian forest cat, as they are just street cats here. But most of them are tubby color.
I really appreciate these videos! I have a cat that is very similar in temperament to Artie here, and who also goes on walks outdoor with a harness very frequently! We groom him at home - regular brushing of course, and he is a darling about letting us clip his nails and even brush his teeth. Because he has longer fur, goes outside very often, and tends to get some staining on his white fur from grooming due to porphyrin in his saliva - a natural result of animal-source proteins in his food - we give him a bath once a month or so. He is not very stressed by baths - much like Artie, he might make one or two half-hearted attempts to escape but other than that just complains a little, and then goes right back to being an affectionate lovebug!
I guess what I'm trying to say is, thank you for sharing these videos of cats with similar temperaments, lifestyles, and grooming routines! I am a first-time cat owner, and trying to do my very best. I worry a lot that I might be messing something up, and there is a ton of controversy and negative discussion around bathing cats, which can get very alarming. Anyways, thank you!
Definitely not messing things up by giving baths... so long as water is warm and air is warm and you aren't just scruffing and dunking... a lot of the negative comes from mistake that because cats don't like water it is somehow harmful to them. But there are many cats who truly love water, hydrotherapy in older arthritic cats is also wonderful for gentle pain relief but much better and helpful when your cat is already used to water and comfortable with it. Lots of cuddles, reassurance, calmness when bathing them and early introduction is the best. Just like dogs... believe me despite their protests huskies are no more harmed by a bath than cats.
Stunning kitty! that sweet face and gorgeous eyes!
What a beautiful cat with a beautiful temperament
Artemis is such a good boy. So glad his human is letting him live his best life. He's so handsome. ❤
Such a gentleman! He's so polite, even when he's had enough!
Thank you for all the cat content. Earlier this week I had to bathe a half-feral orphaned 5 weeks old kitten (was really dirty, and full of fleas). Learning from your videos helped to be this experience a lot less stressful to both of us.
He has such a beautiful face!
He is such a beautiful cat!!! What a well cared for cat.
Thank You Vanessa for sharing Arte's groom! Such a marvelous cat.....God bless....😊❤😊
Lovely handling. The swat he gave you cracked me up. It was so inert.
Beautiful kitty. So well mannered. Vanessa thank you for explaining about how to use the towel. It is counter intuitive to think of having to wet a towel before drying. I love that hair doesn't stick to it either because I swear my dog sheds enough hair to knit 10 sweaters with every year and using a regular towel was just a nightmare for my washing machine.
The cast looks so relaxed when being blow dried, it's like it realized it's at the salon & is indulging in the experience.
Someone must've put a "free cat grooms" not far from her house 😂
Wow, such a beautiful calm cat!
What a sweet boy. I have a rescue long hair. I've never bathed him because i don't want to create any problems but he loves being brushed head to tail. Even does an upside down superman pose for belly rubs.
You are really good with animals. You're so patient and calm spoken. It's amazing to watch you with them.
Cats are such wonderful companions! So happy that Artemis is an adventure cat. Have a wonderful life, Arty 🐱💛
Dear me! I have always been a complete dog lover, but this beautiful precious cat has won my heart ❤️ he is amazing 👏 🤩
I bought your Nasty Critter shampoo for the first time, and I absolutely LOVE it! Worked really well, didn’t take too much to get my hella dirty dog lathered up, and rinsing was SO easy. I’m used to rinsing forever and ever to make sure there is no soap residue left, but your’s rinsed away so cleanly and easy. My cats are next, but I’m building up my resolve because last time I got shredded by the big one. 😅
The most beautiful cat I’ve ever seen 😍
He's lovely!
What a beautiful cat in every way! 💕
he's so gentle
What a stunning kitty. I can't get over what a lovely blue his eyes are.
Lovely! I enjoy your cat groomings the best ❤ I know this one wasn’t a drastic change at all but I loved when you put the before and afters 😅
It’s so wonderful to get to know what certain breeds are like in practice. Thank you!!!
He is absolutely gorgeous 😊❤
No Thinking! I can see you thinking!
So many cats..they have taken over the premises 😂
I love Artemis! His shorts are so delightful to watch. Such a sweet boy.
I love that sometimes she gets easy pets to groom lol I know she’s great at the troubled ones but nice to see easy pets for her
oh my goodness his eyes are the most beautiful blue!!
Artemis was excited when he saw you bring his "house," over. Adorable.
