I am impressed by engines that sound great - pure engine noise, but I think there lies the problem. Most new cars with high performance engines sound very bland. A loud exhaust is the only way they can sound interesting and characterful - if that is what you think they are....
@Balls Deep all zf auto has farts when you put an aftermarket exhaust. They also come with small burbles standard but his are too much. Each to their own. But if he loves it then my opinion dont really matter. Hahha

@@propanex8162 I used to have a tuned M140i running E30. I know for a fact I made more power with the factory air box than an open pod filter on the dyno. The turbo is directly under that air filter on the B58 and without shielding and without significant airflow you’ll pull a lot of timing because of high intake temps. But that’s just my experience from hours and hours of dyno testing and thousands of miles of logs with MHD. But what do I know?
Why the hell didn’t we get the XDrive version of this car over here I’d have one in a heartbeat but the only thing that puts me off is that power in the wet not hooking up. I’m literally ready to buy a car ( 140 and 240 on the list) and all fingers are pointing to 4 wheel drive as the roads are like shit 80% of the time.
I’ve got a 240i and with Michelin Pilot 4s tyres, it does put the power down quite well. But especially with winter, something like an rs3 or a45 would be better for grip
Next best thing is the 340i X drive i guess. Obviously more expensive if you buy brand new but most don't anyway. Just pick up 1 for the same price with an extra 20k miles?
Yeah for me it’s hit far too extreme now and it’s gone beyond what I’d say is aurally pleasing. It’s up there with my mates b16 civic type R on a straight pipe for “ my exhaust fell off on my Corsa” kinda loud. If it’s all about complete loudness just remove the exhaust totally .

I'd be more concerned about the flames and the life of your turbo but hey ho. For the neigh sayers about DMS maps I had my 340i mapped by DMS in August 2018 and they logged 444.3. 5 months later I went to Surrey Rolling Road and they showed 454.0 bhp. A friend had his 440 mapped at DMS and he got very very similar numbers to me on their dyno and on SRR's dyno.

So when or why did it go back down to 430 and only after thé stage 2+ it again reached 480? Wow - yr stage 2 vlog 25 July quoted 486bhp at DMS dyno post their remap. Here Alex at QST quoted yr car pre stage 2+ @ 430bhp......either QST Maha dyno is too conservative or DMS dyno was massively optmistic.....Oooppss
Great video Luke, just recently had a stage 1 done on my 140 at DBS Automotive, achieved a figure of 470BHP on the rolling which even surprised the tuners. All I have done is added a performance air filter and a replacement intake pipe. Not sure I will go any further without uprating the springs and suspension as well as an LSD. 👍😃😃😃

For stage 2+ why didnt you get meth? You'll get over 500 just for cooling purposes. Shocking results from dms. More bhp gets around 430-450 on a stage one with 630nm...
Litchfield sent me away saying I had 465hp in my m140i, got it dyno'd when home an it was 425hp... don't know how these places get away with having such a good name🤔😂. Maybe just my bad luck, did get a refund but was a wasted 2000 miles going there twice as I live in scotland and warranty is now fucked. Been told new hpfp would fix this too, wonder is some of the b58 pumps are weaker than others?

You don’t need the extension you just need to turn the connector on the TU pump ,charge pipe is useless on the b58 and MHD is the best platform for OTS maps stage 2+.

Dyno numbers are not a good metric. Track and 0-60, 60-130, 1/4 miles are much better. Dyno numbers will vary GREATLY from one to the next, and that dyno sheet is worthless on the track.

We never got it as it didn’t work with RHD.

I am worrying about your gear box.
Don’t.. pure turbos run 660bhp on a standard tranny. 8ZF is really strong, can handle 750bhp and 800nm
ZF can take a lot.
Gearbox is sweet. People running 700 with it no problem
Pure turbo runs the ZF8 of the 435D. It's stronger. This one is ZF8-50. Other one is the ZF8-80 i believe

Sexy figures them Luke. Just had charge pipes, a chargecooler rad upgrade & stage 2 dyno tune from NV Motorsport in Birmingham on my M240i. 458bhp and 712nm. Have an upgraded clutch coming next week as I’ve worn through the stock one hahaha!! 🤣 Question for you: Do you recommend a new LSD or go for a 2nd one? Going to need one me thinks haha 🤣 Great vlog mate. We’ll have to put mine and yours together at some point if you fancy?
You don’t need the extension you just need to turn the connector on the TU pump ,charge pipe is useless on the b58 and MHD is the best platform for OTS maps stage 2+.

A company called kelford have aftermarket camshafts and valve springs for the b58 that would probs give an extra 40hp
Standard internals can handle 750bhp
@@j.f.4765 Yh but valve springs allow u to rev higher and with cams the engine will naturally produce power in those higher revs plus with a turbo that loves high rpms it’ll make a good bit more power

Dyno numbers are not a good metric. Track and 0-60, 60-130, 1/4 miles are much better.
Dyno numbers will vary GREATLY from one to the next, and that dyno sheet is worthless on the track.
Congrats on completely ruining a once nice car...
I had to mute it during the dyno run... Bloody awful exhaust.. If I had that car and it sounded like that, I would never bother switching it on..

These engine's are capable of 600+hp on stock internals. No need to wait for it to blow. Because 480hp isn't going to blow the motor 😅
