    The slightly worse MPG on the M140i is more than made up for by the sound it makes.

    I’ve had both an S3 S tronic and M140i auto and the M140i is so much more economical at 70 mph! The gear ratio in 8th is magic.

    You should do a few drags and rolls with these two, I see a lot of people online say the r wins from the dig but I've seen the m140 match the r in the dry even from a standstill then obviously has the advantage in rolling, be good to see whether it still pulls on the r when on a wet track whilst rolling but also whether it can keep up with the r from launch in dry, probably be hard to film though because you'd have to do it over multiple days of different weather 😂

    • @roadreg1820
      @roadreg1820  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Golf will always be quicker in went and greasy conditions from a standstill. And yeah you’re not wrong. With the right tyres, and if you don’t use LC, the 140i can launch pretty hard for a RWD car. No match for the Golf’s AWD system tho.

    • @roadreg1820

      This is a comparison between the VW golf R and M140i. Lewis’s Golf R is the estate version, so it’s heavier. I added a passenger to stop people complaining that it wasn’t fair due to the Golf R hatch (not estate) being lighter. I explained this in the video.

    Highway no question m140 is better. i've seen 5.5L/100 over more than 100km (in 100 zone). Can regularly get under 6L/100 which ive struggled with in any of the VW 2L ive had previously. The town component and driving styles can actually make a big difference. I know others cant get the same efficiency as me on highway. That's measured, not estimated or trip computer

      I would agree, and if we had a longer section of motorway.. the result would have been different for sure. I tried to a crate a route that was realistic and would not favour the M140i because I wanted to see if it could even get close to the Golf R’s economy.
