  • Is your horn on your 2014-19 Silverado or Sierra continuously blowing, even with key out of the ignition? If so, in this video we explain how to fix this issue quickly and easily for good.
    This issue is commonly caused by a bad relay located on the circuit board of 2014-19 GM trucks. The easiest way to solve this issue is to purchase a new Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block from your local Chevy or GMC dealer. The part number you will need to reference is GM 84303175.
    This is an extremely easy fix for a very annoying issue. The unfortunate thing about this is that the Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block (GM Part Number: 84303175) costs approximately $260.00 at the dealership. So, this extremely easy fix is also an extremely expensive fix. However, if you follow the steps in this video, you can have your truck back to normal in no time at all.

    Just to clarify, the horn relay went bad. The horn relay is integrated into the fuse box circuit board. For that reason we needed to replace the whole fuse box.

    So anyone else regret having a Chevy? It's amazing how the basic components of old vehicles last a decade or more and current vehicles are basically crap straight from the factory. I think I need to "accidentally" leave mine unlocked and find something reliable.

    Just got back from lunch, parked my '15 Silverado in my office parking lot and had the same issue with the horn. Pulled the fuse and then went to google and came across this video. Thanks for posting!

      Glad we could help. Unfortunately, the fix is to replace the entire fuse box because the relay is integrated into the circuit board.

    Just picked up a new to me 2018 LT Z71 last month and the other day woke up the neighborhood with the horn blaring continuously. Pulled the fuse, and ran inside to research what it could have been caused by. Thanks for the video! New part is ordered.

    Just had my '17 horn do the same thing at baseball practice. After reassuring the spectators I wasn't stealing the truck, I ripped the fuse out. This issue has plagued me since I bought the truck in '17. Thanks for the vid sir

    I had an issue with the high beams on my 2017 Sierra indicating they were engaged and not actually getting brighter >>> Forums suggest, you guessed it, it's a bad, non-servicable relay on the same fuse box/board!
    Truck wouldn't start without a jump, and then proceeded to die shortly after. Alternator? Per my mechanic, the repair guides suggest it's the fuse box/board.... Local Stealership has none and says they are on national backorder and has no idea when they will come in.
    I noticed my horn was no longer working when locking up with my FOB either. I'm hoping the trifecta is ALL this crappy board! 🤞🤞
    Currently ordered with overnight shipping for the same cost the dealer wanted anyway. Can't risk driving the truck and not knowing whether it will start and die while driving or even start at all!
    Thanks for a great video! I'll come back to comment to update what issues the swap fixes for me.

      Wow that's a crazy story. When it comes to your horn not working when you use your key fob, that's usually an indication that something else is wrong.

      Yes, the relay for the horn is integrated into the circuit board. I don't know why, but the relay went bad. I explained it better in the video description than in the video itself.

    Great video! I’m having some trouble with my horn not beeping when I lock with the remote. But it does beep from the steering wheel. Any suggestions? It also once in a while gets stuck when I beep from the steering wheel but it stops once I give it another push. Thanks

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is exactly how my problem started. It eventually grew into what we have here. The issue is that the relay is going bad. It will eventually get stuck open. It may take some time but eventually this will happen. The problem is the relay is integrated into the circuit board of the fuse box. That means you have to replace the entire fuse box to fix the issue.

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop

      It's not just a fuse, it's an integrated rely. So, yes you have to replace the whole box.

    my truck does this randomly only when i lock it with my key fob it will honk so loud until I have to unplug the fuse. Also not sure if this is related but the chime volume cabin (seatbelt,sensors,open door) is extremely loud I have it on the lower level but something is wrong the chime :( maybe this can fix it.

    Hey man I just had this same issue but when I looked at my fuses there’s a wire running to fuse 39 which is misc ign. Would that affect anything if I swap the whole harness like you did?

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey bro, I would look into why a wire is running to #39. Do you have any after market components? Tow mirrors, audio, lights. See what that wire is for before replacing anything.

    what made you decide to take out the fuse box

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      After a lot of research I realized that relay is integrated into the fuse box. Unless you know how to solder, it's a tough fix. Removing and replacing the fuse box gets it done quickly.

  • @trhurt351

    Hey man I currently have the same problem. What made you figure out it was that? Not like the clock spring or something else.

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did some research online and found that the horn relay is non-removable from the fuse box. The relay went bad and needed replaced. That's why I got the new fuse box. I did some testing and sure enough the relay was the issue.

      @@TheBrothersWorkshop Researching my 2013 Suburban and it seems like it's the same thing, I need to replace the entire box. The really strange thing in my case was I was troubleshooting a horn that STOPPED working. However, when I put a test light on the horn circuit, I was confused why it was always on. Sure as shit, when I got the new horn, it's now on all the time. So for me me, it's looking like new horn and new box. FML

    Can i drive the truck safely with alarm fuse removed until i fix it

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Should you drive the vehicle, no. You will not have the ability to use your horn if you remove the fuse. This can cause a safety issue. Can you drive the vehicle, yes. Removing the fuse has nothing to do with any of the mechanical components of the vehicle and will still operate.

    Horn stuck when I hit the horn at a driver backing onto the road. The fuse eventually blew. Replaced the fuse. Horn started the same thing after hitting the horn a couple of times. Wonder if there is a recall?

    I have a 2018 gmc Sierra, my horn would be weak when i locked my car sometimes. Has been weak since I’ve had it for 2 years. Randomly in a grocery store parking lot i pressed the lock button and the horn went off and stayed on no matter what i did. Had to disconnect battery. 2 cops even showed up and tried to help. Had to take the fuse out. Went home and took out the whole fuse box and cleaned it with electronics cleaner a too and wire brush. Put it back together and horn works better than before. Hope this helps someone.

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sounds like you had the exact same issue that I did. Unfortunately, the horn relay in my fuse box went bad. The relay is integrated into the circuit board of the fuse box, so I was forced to replace mine. Thanks for watching!

      Yes, in the video we are working on a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. They are almost identical vehicles. This happens because the horn relay goes bad. It is integrated into the circuit board, so replacing the circuit board is the fix.
