Hey Glock, I belive that because you are spreading the heat over a larger area, digging just one block from the same place, you don't heat it up enough to spawn screamers. I had a huge base footprint as well, 45x45, did the same thing you did, 0 screamers spawned. But when I dig in the same smaller area, constant waves of radiated screamers spawn
Heat is generated "per chunk" so if you're spreading your work across chunk borders, you can avoid screamers completely. So what you're saying is 100% correct, and this is just the explanation.
The way the auger specifically works with heat generation is based on event. It generates heat when you activate it and then continues to dwindle after that initial activation. If you just have it continuously going without starting it up again after that, you could minimize the heat the auger generates.
@@EliseSarver hm, i didn't have that impression, due to the maxed out gear and skill points in mining, and increased damage to blocks, I had to tap click for the entire 45x45 feild so I don't damage the dirt block below, still no screamers
I just did a tier IV fetch/clear in winter biome, did not go stealth. Doing an int run with batons, by the end of going loud through that POI I got nailed with three radiated screamers the moment I dropped into the loot room. F'N nightmare... could not tell what was POI zomb and what wasn't, got swiped by a bear trying to kiting them around the POI so I could finish it. I failed.... screamers are different now for sure.
Yea I do this too. Without the plate you'll NEVER get stuck, unless you're running from a zombie. Murphy's Law I guess. The plate eliminates the "trying to grab the ladder but hitting your head against the bottom of it" issue 🙂
I think another trapped inside would be cool. One of the poi's that you mentioned before seems pretty good. Excited to check it out when the time comes! Thank you, you're the man!
Speaking of putting junky through bars I have also notice that you can mount your vehicle through bars/hatches/etc. I think that is a bit exploitable and maybe should be addressed.
Hey Glock! A little trick I recently learned to keep you from hitting the bottom of your ladders... put a plate shape flat to the wall under your ladder. Smooth jumping onto it ever after. If no wall there just place it the same way under the ladder
Another great one Glock! I still dont understand how military base 7 was so different for you, my son and i had 3 times the zombies with bears too. maybe because there was 2 of us lol not sure. Love your series i never miss one! Keep it up
I did the army post 7 and got at least 200 zombies in there, and it was only a tie 5 clear!!! It was totally insane, started out average but at the end was NUTS! Had to upload the clip to it, it was never intended for a video, just me casually playing😂

I always like to put smg turrets on the outer edge facing each other so I know the base is covered and the turrets too incase a zombie gets up there. I prefer the smg turrets too cause cheaper ammo and I think they produce less heat than others. Good vid
Hey glock, I'm a huge fan and I'm sure you get what I'm about to say a lot: An idea for a series where every x days at the day of the horde night, you pick up a quest, go to the POI, reinforce it as well as you can against the horde and after you're done, you ill the horde and then HAVE to do the POI as the job. I've been doing it on normal difficulty , max 16 zombies spawn at the same time (beacuse most of them just get stuck if you spawn too many and then you actually have easier time since you're not killing them).
This is basically my go-to endgame horde base! Except I usually try to find a 2 storey building to build it in. I build it on the 2nd floor and have a thin track the zombies can run over to get to me, with drops either side. And for the blade traps, I have 4 rows of them with 2 hanging from the roof and 2 on the floor, so 16 blades total, with electric fence traps at each one. Even up around day 150 they really struggle to get even halfway through the traps, especially with a sniper rifle and a heavy machine gun. Usually pick up almost as much ammo as I use too!
Love your videos Glock keep up the great work! So I’m assuming the reason you didn’t spawn a screamer is because the auger only generates “heat” when you start and stop it. If you keep it running continuously it actually doesn’t generate heat until it’s turned off. Doesn’t quite make sense but that’s how it works as far as I’m aware.
I dunno about everyone else, but I'd like to see an episode (and commentary) of the base being fully built in fast forward. Like say 3 days of base building at x2 speed while you (Glock9) make funny commentary and incidents telling us what happened or something. 😄
I like the idea of Trapped Inside, but when you do it, make sure you are going to give yourself an engine or a limit during a horde in the end game to go out and fetch an engine and a battery from a car.
Hey Glock. I moved bases and my forge still had materials in it, I got impatient and destroyed it. The materials appeared in the blue standard backpack, so didn't lose any materials, but did gain the time saved from not cooking them out of the forge.
For anyone else struggling with jumping to ladders like that, if you put plates against the wall under the ladder, you can safely walk all the way into them and still be able to jump onto the ladder.
Let me start off by saying the only thing I know about this game is what iv learned by watching your content. I love you content some of the best and funniest on TH-cam. I honestly don’t miss a episode and I’m sure you had seen at least one of my comments saying so because I honestly find you so entertaining. Much love and support to my East Coast brother. So for being so sappy but like to give credit where credit I’d die. Please everyone subscribe to this highly underrated guy.
I have now decided that the next night of 'entertaining' my old lady I am going to try to speak with the inner voice dialog of Glock's introductions. I am quite sure that is going to get me into trouble but will be so worth it.
I adapted my usual base to use traps like you did. Im about to move and rebuild. Make some upgrades. Other than turrets i havent really used traps before
Hope this helps you out Glock. At 4:28 in the video you were talking about getting stuck on the ladder. I was having the same issue so I changed the ladder to a round ladder, it’s not as bulky and it gives you more room to jump up. Give it a shot, you might like it way more. Great great videos, awesome commentary and hilarious jokes, keep up the hard work 😊
As someone that finally got to play this (console edition) I’ve realized that your an absolute freak on this game lol. This game is brutal. In a good way.
With regard to heat and augers, I think heat is only generated when you initially start the auger. So if you only start the auger on refill fir gas, you dont generate that much heat.
I was gonna give 3 points of advice but seems other people have already said the same things lol but screw it spikes on the roof, walking paths to repair ur traps, and placing junkies on half blocks to give them more height to not only see over the block walls but also gets them up making them a lot more likely for head shots also making whatever ammo causes most damage whether it’s AP ammo or darts if those n in 1.0 may just be a darkness falls thing idk lol anyway really enjoying ur play through 💯🎯🙏🏻🔥
If you do another trapped inside, maybe you could get to other buildings by digging a tunnel underground. Pretend that the ground is radiated and can not be touched due to nuclear fallout or something. Rooftops could be fair game because the main loot that could be up there, up to you. You can look on the map and see when you're under a building and just dig up.
Hmm how about for another trapped inside series. Instead of it being one place, it'll be many areas! But there connected together thought the underground! Like digging out of one place and into the other, keeping the whole trapped in place theme. OH! Trapped in the City! Can call it that!
I think it would be interesting if you actually put your main base in the center with the trap base wrapped around it, you may have to increase the floorspace to allow for that tho.
I understand dropping back down to warrior difficulty. The challenge is in managing stamina and ammo. You'll end up buying all food and drink to support one, and farming for AP & HP ammo exclusively for the other. I find that gameplay to be a grind that's not satisfying.
Hey dude, what a flat plate under your ladders, it keeps you from catching on the bottom of them and failing to climb up, but still won’t give the zombies an option for following you.
Heat Map on this game is weird. I’ll throw on mixers, campfires, and forge to get things crafting. I’ll get a pregame horde in the forest. Using the auger in shale mine, I just hear nothing.
You should put plate blocks below the ladders so you don’t get stuck and insane difficulty is called “insane” bc it’s insane that’s why regular zombies are hard to kill in that difficulty lol.
Nothing like a G9 video to make us forget about all life s problems.
Grandpa Glock narrating the base building was great. And simple wooden spikes on the roof are enough to kill the birds.
I usually use 4 shotgun turrets. Doesn't use a lot of ammo and it kills them quickly enough that you don't have to listen to them :P
@@weird_al77 I second the turrets. It's cheap and that way you can still use your roof.
