Discovered your channel via your wonderfully simple 912 oil change and drive to the beach. (Would love a driver quality 912 if I can swing it before those crazy Porsche prices suck this last value proposition into the stratosphere and beyond my reach.) Then watched with interest some of your T build, and now TOTALLY psyched to start at the beginning of this 356 rebuild series and catch up. Wonder if you follow Jethro Bronner’s Alfa channel. You guys have similar minimalist build vids without a lot of yapping to distract from the pleasure of just watching mechanical artwork being carefully tended to. Very nice approach!
throw a set of points in her and drive it like it is. that patina is priceless. with all the glass missing you will have the sensation of open motoring without the need for air conditioning, not to mention reduced possibility of carbon monoxide asphyxiation these cars are notorious for.
This will be a fun project to watch. Good luck bringing that beauty back from the precipice. Also, I really prefer the videos where you speak to the silent ones.

Just out of interest how much was this advertised for on BHC? I normally see their listings on Ebay/thesamba but must have missed this one. I'm usually looking out for projects. Like yourself I have wanted one since around 2008, couldn't buy one as was living overseas, watched the prices go up and up. Now have a 912 but would still love a 356. As I mentioned on a FB post, this car looks like it was rolled decades ago and stored. The condition of the front spare wheel well, the old tread pattern of the front left tire make me think that. I think you have a great basis for a project compared to a rusted out car. Sure there are straight rusted out cars but by the time you strip them almost everything needs replacing. I'd personally prefer a car like this. So many 356s are non matching. At the end of the day it probably wont win any prizes for originality but will be a great looking car that you can daily driver.
Do you know the chanel Budged Builds, I think I wrote ok. The guy from that chanel have the same hobby as you and restored a Porsche Targa that was in a really bad condition.

I reached out to Bennett’s on Facebook. I sent them a photo of the car and asked if they ever sold it. I haven’t heard back. It would be really cool to find out the history of the car.

I like what you are doing and I will follow this project. You need to work on your narration. You use "umm" too much when you speak and it is distracting. Listen to one of your videos. Nothing personal, just some advise to make these better.

I looked into that. But it’s not really worth the effort. The bodies are very different and it would greatly reduce the value of the car.
