    I've been binge watching your Model T and FJ40 series over the last few days. And I know nothing about cars. This is some of the best content I've seen on TH-cam. Thank you!

    How you don't even have 40k subs is beyond me. Kids these days rather watch some id!ot mutilate a Mclaren, while tricking them into leaving comments and selling them cheap food replacement drinks, than watching someone literally bringing history back to life. This project is unique on the whole platform. Your down to earth approach is really appreciated after all this generic stuff that confirms so nicely to this palatable TH-cam mould.

    I finally put out a video on my Porsche after I had fixed the roof. I used a hand held English wheel. If you like to see it finished. The English wheel really helped smooth out the dents. My roof was bad but not as bad as yours. Thanks for your inspiring video

    Wow, great work bringing her back to the general shape! You might reach out to some collision resources, like frame machine manufacturers, craftsman, etc. to see if a 'collision repair dimension diagram' is available for this car. Not sure if you are a member yet here but looks like there may be something in here? porsche356registry.org/ Guessing your next move is to fit the doors and make sure no A post twists, etc. The transformation is awesome so far, but ...FJFJFJ!!!

  • @hevog

    Wow, that was a pretty impressive demonstration of how to staighten a roof so badly distorted. There is still some work to do, but as long as the windows and the doors will fit in again nicely and the diagonal measurements are in line, the rest is filling, leveling, sanding, painting and a new head liner. Looking good, did not think this would work out. Great job, thumbs up!

    Just bought a wreck 356 about a month ago and the roof is teak also but not as bad as yours . Its just a rusty wreak. How did you make the windows to fit correctly? Was it by eye or trying to fit the windows and adjusting as needed. I thinking on making jigs so I don’t need to hassle with the glass and rubber. I wish I knew how much bigger to make the jig to compensate the rubber . The cars windows are missing and I didn’t want to use new windows to mess with it taking the chance on breaking them or scratching them. Do you have a idea how much bigger to make it or do you think just buy the glass and rubber and deal with it

    • @Jerod_Helt
      @Jerod_Helt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used the glass and seals to figure out what needed to be tweaked. The windshield on my car still doesn’t fit perfectly but it seals

      I’ve been watching your videos over and over and I’m impressed that you had the gusts to try. I can’t afford a nice one so I bought a wreaked one with the right front fender tore off which tweaked the roof at the rear passenger side lifting it up. I think if I pull the front back in shape it will help the roof to go back in it’s original place. I’ve been trying to find used windows but it seems I will have to buy new. Do you know anyone locally that has windows. I’m in Diamond bar ca right by Pomona
      Thanks for your input
