    You can use the pop grips in portrait. You just have to push the tip of the pop socket so that it touches the back. I use it as a portrait stand all the time.

    I got the Rhino grip last year based on your review and I HATED it. The plastic feels flimsy and cheap. The hinges don’t open or close smoothly and had a hard time holding for trying to use it as a stand. It was uncomfortable to use for any length of time and it blocked part of the camera when taking pictures/video. I was and still am shocked that it is still in your top 10 because I have never had a bad product when using your recommendations until that one.

      Same! I had the exact experience. The only way it didn't block the photos was if I had it popped in on the top but not the bottom while I was holding it. It constantly had problems clicking back into place also. I had to try a few times often to get it to go all the way in. I switched to the Oh Snap Pro (which he actually doesn't recommend) and it is SO MUCH BETTER.

  • @EddNog

    Wow, the Oh Snap Snap Grip Pro 3.0 didn't even make the top 10? It works as a stand in both orientations, and it allows you to still use MagSafe charging without removing it. I would've thought it to be pretty high on the list. I know my wife loves hers.

    • @BaxterretxaB
      @BaxterretxaB ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I loved mine until it cracked in half and then I got zero response from customer service on replacing it. It’s pretty expensive to break like that even though they claim it’s so durable

    • @tianasbooks
      @tianasbooks ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Aaron hates Oh Snap, lol. He's done a video on that grip before. Personally, I LOVE mine. I don't really understand why he doesn't like it. Maybe he was using it incorrectly - he said it was hard to get open but I've never had that problem, maybe because I use my fingernails? He also doesn't like putting his fingers between the grip, but I use mine more in the T formation. Mine allows it as a stand in both orientations and I can charge it without having to take it off. It's SO slim. I've tried both the Pop Socket (which was his number 1, but was too bulky for me) and the Rhinoshield (which was on his list but hurt my fingers and kept not working and wouldn't pop back into place). For me the Oh Snap 3 Pro is WORLDS better. I really don't understand his problems with it. I did have to get a slimmer case, but that actually turned out to be a positive because now my phone is even slimmer all around and I love it. I watched this video to see if anything noteworthy had come out, but seeing the options, I don't think I'll ever give up my Snap 3 Pro.

      @@tianasbooksI discovered the chubby cable grip and purchased one earlier this week.
      My biggest gripe with ohsnap is that you have to stick it on your case or device. Mine broke a couple months in and I was stuck with it on there unless I swapped cases.
      Chubby cable’s grip looks like oh snaps, but they advertise that you can use a magnetic connection, instead of adhesive.

    • @EddNog
      @EddNog ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The best way to use it, and this is an interesting take maybe other people have not tried, is that I install a Rhinoshield CrashGuard bumper only onto the phone, and then install the SnapGrip Pro 3.0 directly onto the back of the phone. This way the phone gets drop protection AND sits flat AND has a built-in grip and stand that allows MagSafe mounts and chargers to work perfectly. This is how my wife’s iPhone 13 Mini is set up and she loves it!

    • @BaxterretxaB
      @BaxterretxaB ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tianasbooks I noticed that he put the ESR ring as number 10 but I currently have that as my phone grip and you’re not supposed to flip out both rings all the time. You’re only supposed to flip out the ring with the rubber inside and you can do it with one finger as you pull your phone out of your pocket. I think the ESR is one of the most versatile phone grips besides the snap three pro. The reason I’m not using snap three Pro is because mine broke and I wanted to try something different. I really like the ESR stand configurations, but it is a bit bulky and doesn’t allow the MagSafe charging like the snap pro.

    Hey, long time/first time. I purchased the OhSnap 4.0 and have used it for a few days. The best part is it's so thin it disappears- great as I keep my phone in my pocket. The landscape "stand function" works great. The portrait is a bit too angled unless it is below you (on a coffee table in front of you or something; it would be fine). The magnet is very strong and a huge plus. My fingers are pretty big, so the grip is good but a bit snug. I can't fit a single finger inside, as some have shown online without difficulty. Other note- I bundled it with their car mount (not charger) and its a very, very strong magnet that I'm really happy about.

    • @ryharvey
      @ryharvey ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I got one of those. You can MagSafe charge with the grip attached. But-when I take my phone off the charger, the grip sticks to the charger instead of the phone! Maybe mine was an anomaly. Has yours worked ok?

    For other phones in the past I've found the CLCKR brand grips really comfortable and useful. They have both portrait and landscape stand support as well as space for 2-4 fingers depending on hand size. The only thing with the magsafe versions seems to be that they can't be flipped upside down, which I usually found a bit more comfortable.

    I ADORE LoopyCases but miss easy access to MagSafe charging. I’ve been on the hunt for a MagSafe grip that offers similar comfort to a Loopy. I’ve tried the CaseMate (#7; 2:50) but it sits too high on my 15 Pro Max to be as comfortable as a Loopy.
    I recently tried the Sonix MagSafe Loop and it’s much more comfortable than the CaseMate but still sits way too high.
    My favorite right now is the Torras Magnetic Phone Grip Holder Kickstand with Silicone Loop (in true Amazon listing fashion). It has a loop at the bottom so it is easier to use on my PM but it’s still not as comfortable as a Loopycase. The Torras does offer an actual stand (in both landscape and portrait) and is even magnetic so you can stick your phone to metal surfaces, both features I miss when using my Loopy.
    Did you test the Sonix or Torras grips? I’m curious where they fell in the overall ranking.

    My favorites are the ESR Halolock ring and the PopGrip round. In fact, I love them both so much that I always keep them both in my day bag. The ESR Halolock isn't as comfortable or easy to use, but it's so functional. I love that It can hold the phone up in portrait and landscape modes. It's also incredibly sturdy. My PopGrip round, however, is more comfortable to use when I am laying in bed or just lounging.

    Good review. Been wanting to find this video. I agreed popsocket grip is the best one but is not as thin as like osnap, castify, kick pop and moft grip. I really want a thin one. Otter grip might be the best but it fall under same as the product I mention above. Over time the grip is gonna break. I don’t want to waste my money. Popsocket is very durable and won’t break down easily overtime. I feel like the winner is Popsocket. Btw ohsnap can use MagSafe charger while is attached to the phone. I hoping every iteration they come out with they improve durability. I feel like Ohsnap is the closest to perfecting it. For now Popsocket is the king.

    Two things:
    A: did you review any OhSnap Grips? I was surprised to not see the 3 or 4 Luxe.
    3: you CAN use the pop grip round in portrait mode.
    There are two sections of the collapsible center. If you half collapse the section closer to the finger stop (not the magnet base) it will stay like that. You can then rotate it to support a portrait stand position.
    It is INCREDIBLY shallow but it’s enough so I can look at a recipe and cook or watch a reel and game (or whatever) without craning my neck to a birdseye position (relative to the phone).

    I just discovered the Tango 2.0 grip. It’s like a cross between a MagSafe Popgrip and ohsnap 3/4 luxe. It’s about as thin as the popgrips base but has the ability to clip in to make a stand like the ohsnap. You have to remove the tango to MagSafe charge but that’s fine because the ohsnaps never were able to MagSafe charge though cases consistently. And me being a case queen, I would need to buy multiple ohsnaps since theirs require adhesive assistance and switching cases is not as clean as they make it seem. Hopefully you could give the Tango a shot.

    I knew the Popsocket grip would win. I’ve used it daily since the day it released (and it’s still in brand new condition) and I don’t think I’ll ever not use one in the future.
    I use it by itself or with the Popsocket Flex Mount when I’m at home but whenever I go out is where it gets interesting.
    I pop it off, put on my OtterBox Folio Wallet and put the Popsocket back on the outside of that. I was initially hesitant that one or both accessories would fall off, but they’re both super strong and it’s actually difficult to even get the Popsocket to come off (not in a bad way). This combo makes the phone a little bulkier than some people might like but the convenience/extended life from not dropping my phone all the time at work is worth it to me personally. I’ve had several co-workers ask me about it and at least two of them have even started using the same setup. Popsocket and OtterBox owe me a sponsorship 😂
    You likely have all of these products. You should give it a try and see if you like it.

    Would the encase be a good choice when there’s extended landscape video capturing? My son’s sporting events. I wouldn’t use it for daily use, just events. I want to video landscape with my left hand so I would think it needs to move a little closer to the top or bottom then middle? Pop socket adhesive my guess would suit better?

    Hi, love the videos. With all the recent vids regarding items with magsafe capabilities, have you thought about using a gauss meter to showcase how strong the magnets on a device are? I find the pressure needed to release data you give is highly valuable and something I have not seen from any other reviewers.

    I was literally just using my phone in the bed faced up and was thinking about how nice a grip would be, I have my popsocket from my iPhone 7 plus so why not use that? I found a magsafe puck thing that you stick a popsocket on that doesnt have MagSafe to make it magsafe. its coming in tmr

    Thank you for these comprehensive reviews. They are truly top notch. I've settled on the ESR Geo wallet thanks to your videos (they're on backorder now, unfortunately). Now I need to decide on a case and a screen protector for a soon-to-arrive iPhone 15 Pro Max. Case-wise, my priorities include grip and protectiveness. NGL, aesthetics are a priority, too, though not as much. What would you recommend?

    Quick question for you! Does the Anker 620 work well with the polarity of the magnets in the MagBak iPhone case?
    I can tell you that unfortunately the magnets in the Rokform iPhone case REPEL the magnets on the Anker 620, which sucks because I cannot reverse one of them as it’s glued in :(

    I bought a pop grip (the larger one) and it keeps falling off and I drop my phone A LOT. I read the magnetic pop sockets work best with Apple Silicone MagSafe case. I want a STRONG magnet.

    What do you think about the Oh Snap Luxe 4. I have seen a descent amount of adds on it and it’s starting to work haha. Thinking about trying it. Seems like it has everything your #1 pop socket does plus it’s magnetic and can be charged without removing anything

    A warning for ESR Geo Wallet Stand, the grip part is super flimsy and is falling apart on me after only a month. The part where it's attached to the top is peeling and parts of the tpu plastic rim has cracked and the strap falls out easily.

    Hi, I need a recommendation! First of all, thank you for your videos, and all of the effort you put into them. So recently, my mother had to have her fingers amputated and just has a palm on both hands, with a few short nubs.. I’ve been looking around, trying to find a MagSafe attachment that has a handle for her palm to fit under but most of the strap style gadgets are made for fingers, and too small for a palm to fit under. For now I have a 5Below $5 case with a Pearl strap on the back. But I want something nicer for her! Any recommendations would be so appreciated. Thank you ❤️

    The problem with iPhone grips is the need to remove them when charging on any MagSafe chargers. Was OhSnap on your list of phone grips? It's nice because you can charge with the grip on but the downside is that it's fragile.

    I have the ESR grip and love it. However I lost the charger and had to contact the manufacturer because it is a proprietary charger. To their credit they mailed me a new one and asked my opinion why so many people were asking for replacements. I thought it was obvious -- small charging chord that is easy to misplace as you only use it once a month or even two months, and you can't replace it. I really like it as a wallet and grip comboy and easier to use and more functional than the apple wallet I used for two years. The weight doesn;t bother me but I have it on a 14 pro max with a case, so weight is not a high priority for my big mitts. Just my experience.
