The Alapaha Blue Bulldog is a modern recreation of the old Bulldog that worked Southern Plantations. Just like the Olde English Bulldogge this breed is an attempt to reproduce the past. The new breed is crafted to be equal parts guard dog and companion. This short documentary features Ralph a 100 pound Alapaha with strength, determination, and agility. All these traits are standard for the breed making the Alapha one of the healthiest Bulldogs today.

My Alapaha was a bit of a pain for the first 13 months because he wanted to put things into his mouth and bite at feet because he was slow to mature, however that all changed. Another thing is that the dog likes to stay close to the person that they go outside with. The Alapaha does not wonder off easily but he will stay close by even when nobody is paying attention to the dog. Yes it is athletic rather than lazy.

@@tuffybaxton6162 whilst she can and will swim, they’re generally not the best swimmers tbh, they’re very front heavy! Fine in hot weather, never had any issues

Alapaha is a awesome dog for family and protection quick learners and all around stable dogs. I own two. Early as a pup i notice there drive as a protection animal with a level head they rock
These are the best dogs you could ever ask for the most loving loyal and protective dog mine even saved me from my neighbors pit when it broke from it’s chain and I will never have a different breed after that

Yes I've seen some with longer muzzles and others with more a British bulldog face,,my likes would be with the longer muzzle and with the body of an alano very athletic

Similar but smaller. I had a Scott's Type AB before. Both dogs very smart. Alapaha more personable. Could be individual dogs. I move he moves. Had game dogs before and the AlB seems to match the loyalty of the apbt. Very athletic dog. It's a bulldog. Very similar to to AB. I actually like that they run smaller. Better for close qtr living. All around dog like the true apbt in my eyes.
***** I like the smaller size. I just don't like animal aggressive dogs. There is really no use for it in the city and it can easily become a problem. That is if they are similar to true APBTs....
Not dog agressive in my opinion but I have not been around them a lot. They are bulldogs and working dogs at that. So if you looking for a lab or shephard I would say no. But. They canbe a lab or shephard or anything as they seem to be allround in my eyes. The same for apbt. Most think as pit dogs but they can be all around also. These are not just for show and all though my dog is a lap dog i prefer to have some type of working dog even if a border collie. Lol. Byyt i like bulldogs g and terriers. Any breed can be socialized.

I have this breed and its awesome!
My alapaha is a blue merle with big blue eyes and by far the most beautiful dog I have ever owned and more aggressive in appearance than any pit or other bully I have had. Short and wide with a giant head. He is a sweet attention hog but no one approaches me when we go for walks or runs due to his appearance. He is only protective or aggressive if he hears something outside sees other dogs... he hates other dogs!!! But I have a fluffy fat himilayan cat that he loves more than anything. He was also a very very easy dog to train he is food motivated for sure he will do anything for bacon lol. But he does not like being left alone so he has to stay in his kennel while I'm at work or he will eat anything even if it's nailed down I used to keep him in the spare bedroom so he would have more space to play but he ate wood flooring and the trim around the door. all in all amazing dog as long as he isn't left alone.

My Alapaha is a giant "Hellsrage Rockthrone" offspring... ripped 100lbs alittle taller then these... huge bone can run allday....8 years old now... best ,smatest, most stable, loyal natural protector dog i have ever had....i will miss him deeply when his time comes.

I have an Alapaha Have had two American bulldogs and a Dogo. I ll say they are def a different breed she has always had tons of drive and can lives to swim works a spring pole like a pit but her body didn't age well bad acls. Bad elbows lots of arthritis. She s a sweet old dog bow but I feel my Americans aged way better. They were study until about 9. Where my Alapaha started breaking down At 6

Awesome. I like the idea of comparing breeds to give us more of an idea which standards are being used, since it does actually make a difference when someone who's used to Malis calls a dog calm (or ctive) or someone who's used to companion only dogs calls a breed calm.
Also, this video got me interested in the Alapaha Bulldog breed since I always skipped them over before, assuming that they were just like the other fat, lazy bulldog breeds.

You should do a living with the blue blood alapaha, there is a brilliant breeder, he owns a registry, the only one in the uk that classes the Alapahas as a breed, he is called Carl Haskayne and owns Necks bullies, he breeds American bullies aswell
If you do another Alapaha I hope you ask them about the breeding because I know the new blood is Merle and double M is the big issue. I have a Merle bully and all I'm hearing is negative. I don't plan to breed M to M so if you could ask them what is their take on it.

Dogumentary TV probably the worse documentary ive seen you do IMO and i like all the docs ive seen from you.. couldve showed more alapahas, wasnt really as lengthy as the other dogumentaries but nevertheless it was good to finally see something like that supporting the breed making the peolpe aware they even exist... literally everyone that sees my pup never heard of the breed, they always say "alapa what?!" alapahas are far from bullies! not to be compared, actually an insult .. so much more to show about this breed .. sold us short on this one, really short!

That’s not a Alapaha-that’s a oldie-know your bulldog history.
Different strains and types of Alapaha, every athletic bulldog breed has different spins on the original,some want the working type with high prey drive while others just want big heads for show dogs while others are breeding for protection work, so there's lots of different types

What is the difference between this and an American Bulldog?
There are different types of ABBB's. The one in this video probably has CRK blood somewhere in his lines. I have two from different lines and there is a big difference in their appearance and temperament. The one in this video isn't the standard that the creator envisioned, but to each his own. It has the potential to be a great dog, but fighting between breeders and greed keep it from that.

In this video l can see that both the American Bully and the Alapaha Bulldogs are broad chested, big headed and very powerfully built. That is what l am really looking for in a bully breed. But between these two breeds, which makes a better guard dog for guarding your property? That is what l am ultimately looking for in a bully type dog : Power, stocky body, big head and a very good watch dog or gaurd dog. Please let me know which will be the best choice.

It would be nice if you did travel outside of cali for this breed there are a lot of good breeders in the midwest of this breed, Nebraska, kansas, Ohio, Texas, and Mississippi.
I like the dogs of FF Fox Farms with Longer legs and longer muzzles, I like those dogs athletics and their breathing and a their bite. I prefer a dog less cow hocked and with a longer back length. More like the Catahoula Bulldogs, the kind that can run all day and for many miles. Bear no mistake in mind the dogs I described look more like a Catahoula Bulldog but they are an Alapaha from Ms. Lane's yard with all of the grit and drive of the breed.

Like this dog. Very different then a American Bully though. I think the American Bully is the biggest scam in dog history at least in my time. An I used to breed them but stopped after learning so much in the direction it was going with all the fake papper work in mixed breeding going on to make them become what it is now
