Before I can consider allowing Diesel to bite a sleeve he must learn how to keep his composure and respond to my commands including how to release from the bite without conflict. this was just a test to see where he was at. I was happy with his response

As someone who is a beginner to training, I often find myself watching videos of pre-trained dogs performing tasks they already know. This is often discouraging to me, because I can’t see the REAL process of training. Then I wonder what I’m doing wrong because my dog isn’t catching on like I thought. Your videos help me out so much on my journey. Showing raw training in REAL TIME where we can see the dog in the process of learning. This is great content, and please keep it up. 🖤

Man love this video I adopted and olde English from the pound who was very aggressive but after a lot of love and patience he is finally a very gently giant. I always laugh though when I see videos or examples like this because it's the tiniest little wins that if you're not looking for it you miss it but those wins are the beginning of true communication with the doggone. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos lots of fun to watch.

I'm enjoying your videos, I have in the past been a dog owner of untrained dogs. I got a new pup 15 weeks Corso pit mix. So I decided I better fix the untrained part. So even before he got here I been watching videos. As soon as the lady got him out of the car he basically pulled her down the street. He was extremely excited and I couldn't get or keep his attention. He was never out of his crate the owner worked 3rd, so he sleeps all day. So the dog used the bathroom and ate in the crate barely got out. So far it's going ok lol but obviously I need more videos. Ty

I have an abandoned, rescued and re-rescued, 20 month old, female Rotty from CL, that does that. She fetches but won't give it back upon return. Unless she wants you to throw it for her. I switched out a tug and a ball on her and that got her to drop it for a bit. But then she figured it out. And she drops the ball but then snakes it back. When I go to pick it up. Then it's hurried teeth near fingers and both after the ball. I've had her for nearly two months. And she's bitten me a couple times for my early ignorance in not respecting her space. I've stopped playing fetch with the tug. But thankfully her walks are much more structured now, loose leash, and no pulling. So we have improvement. She knows how to drop the ball and showed me just once, four times in a row. That when she wants to, she can fetch and drop it, without commands. She's never gone after anything actually in my hand. But this battle for the ball has to stop. She's almost as entertained winning that as she is with me throwing the ball. I've just been walking away for a bit. But that's still kinda says that I can play when she approves. We're working on it. Sometimes I get the feeling that she doesn't want me to know exactly the extent of what she knows. Same thing with her new crate. But that's for a different video, hehe.
Your videos are a great help Larry. You give me strength, hope, and good information. And I'm in dire need of all three. Thank you.

Any advice for increasing prey drive? I have a WGWL GSD who is very large, 125lbs, so that alone is a deterrent for most scenarios in which he'd need to bite anyone threatening, and he does bite on command(with flirt pole, balls, ropes, etc, don't have a sleeve yet), but I've come across a few situations in which he just doesn't feel like working. He won't play fetch, he won't even pay any attention to a ball unless he's competing with my other dog. The only thing he seems to have any drive for is his flirt pole. Is there anything I can do to increase he prey drive for other areas of work? Even just like to make him run? The only time I've seen him even want to run top speed is when the flirt is involved or he's trying to beat my other dog to a ball. He's got pretty good pedigree, and is confident in most situations, but he doesn't seem to want to work. Do you have any tips or can you recall any of your videos in which you show this?

  • @johniac7078
