Thanks, that's what I got curious about. Is the dam somewhere around there too? Edit: checked google maps, I assume that's Lagoa Comprida. Magnificent location, I gotta check that out some day
I did 15k km on and off road over 5 countries on my Svart 401 2023 and this one is definitely my next bike. I love the look of Svartpilen series coming from Kiska design, that’s what brought me to motorcycling in the first place..
i prefer that Husqvarna maintain the 401/701 looks. this new Svartpilen its more towards CFMoto design. as the owner of the 401, i prefer to have 401 body design and throw in the twins, TFT meter and TC. There's a reason someone like me bought Husqvarna motorcycle for its uniqueness. and where is the Vitpilen version? sad but happy with the new model with bigger CC.
I love every bit of this bike, however, especially with this presentation, I would have expected a lot more aggressive sound. It sounds very tame, at least through youtube
Looks very good! Been going on the site everyday looking at the countdown for the reveal, very excited for this. Hopefully my first bigger class moto. I hope and assume it will come with a A2 option
@@yohanyonsson its the same engine as duke 790 and the 790 comes in an L-model variant which is reduced to 95 hp so yes they can make an A2 variant if they want to
@@Gepuwu Nope. It’s two different motors built on the same base. The 105hp version here isn’t only a non restricted L-model. The 801 will have the full power version, also in EU, so it’s not A2 compliant.
@@yohanyonsson yes the ktm comes in both non restricted and an L model. Aside from that the engine is quite literally the same. Same bore and stroke, same power and torque etc. It even achieves the full torque at the same RPM as the Duke 790. The only 2 different things about it is a slightly different compression (12.5:1 in husqvarna and 12.7:1 in KTM) and the full power is achieved later in the husqvarna (9250RPM compared to the 9000RPM in the duke). So I'm pretty sure they won't have a problem doing the same thing as with the duke and make an additional variant with reduced power to fit the A2 regulations. They only have to change the mapping of the engine the question is whether they will do it or not when the KTM already offers that.
This looks more like an ordinary bike unlike the 701. Husqvarna lost its touch with this design. 701 and 401 had the unique not seen anywhere looks on them this generation isn’t even close to having a uniqueness.
The vitpilen 701 was this amazing 350lb single cylinder with an amazing rider triangle and a punchy throttle, and the ktm 790 duke was this razer sharp “scalpel” And the 801 somehow forgot both of those amazing pedigrees
I agree to disagree. The angular IKEA look had Nothing to do with Husqvarna. Husqvarna made the First Moto Cross bike ever and the muscular new edge must be what they represent. Want angular then buy a Freezer… or an IKEA Kallax shelf like most TH-camrs. Now I see Husqvarnas Swedish DNA as should be and I should know being a Swede. This is Raw and sexy. Tack Husqvarna! Nu blir det en cool Husqvarna i mitt garage! Men nej. Min Speed Twin är fortfarande Nummer 1.
@@tomryner5830 I think it’s fine to say that the 801 might represent what husqvarna wants to represent as far as their overall styling, but I think it’s fair to also say that the 701 was a unique bike styled unlike anything else on the market. To this day I’d argue that there does not exist another bike that stands out the way the 701 vitpilen/svartpilen does. If you knew what it was it was immediately recognizable, and if you didn’t know what it was, you knew what it wasn’t. Unfortunately it feels like with the svartpilen 801, it’s aesthetic crosses too much into the same category as already existing bikes (XSR700/900, Ducati monster, even the cb650r) You may not have liked the polarizing aesthetic of its predecessor the 701, but it was undoubtedly unique, and this bike feels much less so. I can only hope it didn’t lose any of the sharp handling characteristics of its sibling duke 790
Totally agree with many of you here. I own a Vitpilen 701 as my only bike - I have taken it on many road trjps across Europe (with riser handlebars sometimes). I would never sell the bike, it's perfection for me, but I was hoping Husky would release a more powerful version, maybe a 901/1001 naked bike. I am interested in seeing how this rides, and whether it stands out in any way, but I can't imagine adding a parallel twin with 100 more CC's is going to make it a worthy successor to the 701. They may well refine it, but part of what makes the 701 so enjoyable is it's 'retro' feel provided by the punchy single cyl engine. Each Husky I've ridden comes with a unique feature(s). For the Nuda, the handling, the torque combined with an outstanding engine sound. For the 701, it doesn't sound great, but has the light weight handling, ridiculously good fuel economy, and punchy retro feel. This 801 not only looks generic, but seems like it's going to be quite smooth and refined. That's just guesswork, and I hope that a feature of the bike stands out! For now, I'm still hoping to see something more interesting and in-line with the pieces of art (both in visual and in feel) to what Husky have previously produced. Fingers crossed!
If theres no version of this bike with spoked wheels and different color then i will be really disappointed. Waited so long for the 801 to reveal but its not what i hoped for...
Buyer Beware. I have owned a new Svartpilen 401 for almost two years now. I have spend the past six months waiting for a replacement for a defective radiator fan. My efforts to reach out to KTM, including corporate, did not help. Not even a response, explanation, apology, or effort to expedite the part. I have waited previously for a month for an oil filter to become available. I'm going on 10 months to a year waiting for other less critical parts. I was eagerly wanting to place an order for the new 801. Now I'll be afraid to take the bike more than 30 minutes from home when and if it's finally repaired. When I did research on the 401 none of the reviewers mentioned the reliability and parts availability problems. I wish I had been warned. I think this is a systemic problem at KTM that they have somehow kept relatively quiet and instead flooded social media with positive videos about new bikes.
Marketing fails yet again. Should have been called the Silverpilen if you are not to release a Vitpilen. That would have killed that question. It is a blend between the Svart and the Vit to be honest. I don’t mind that, it’s perfect for me, but it will make a lot of people question the models personality. And put in some wheelies and stoppies in your vids! People want to see the playfulness like in the Duke vids.
I do like the color and styling of my 701 svart better, but I wouldn't mind the extra beefiness of this bike. I will say though the 701 has never ever been short on power and speed, the problem is the weight of the bike sometimes lol.
In India I recommend 125cc bike for your buisness growth so please launch vitpilen 125 soon because most of the 😮 Indian people are waiting for smart bike in 125cc segment,,,,

Slightly preferred 701 looks. (shame a great design only used for 2 years) Would actually buy 801 for better sound, power, and dash. No contest.

First 10 seconds of the add built an expectation that bike would stack.
Fantastic, I'm just waiting for Vitpilen 801 or 901, whatever you call it, and I'm buying it ;)
