Yeah, you should have seen the springs jumping around in there like crazy while they were opening and closing. It's definitely not very nice on those springs!
Sorry, just now saw your comment (got flagged as "spam" for some reason). The solenoids pull the shutters closed when energized, and a spring returns them to the open position when de-energized.
They are shameless, Heres the siren has a update on the solenoids: Q: what if Federal Signal brought back the 3t22 or 3T22B? A: there will be broadmoor siren solenoids on every end depending on what speed you like.
sorry to sound stupid but broadmoor do own 13 klaxon cs8 sirens with damper's both sides all all 13 theres romors that there going to get scrapped so im still thinking of rescuing 1
3t22 dampers/solenoids are cool
Yep, just two big solenoid-actuated butterfly valves that open and close alternately to block off the air stream to each respective rotor.
kinda like Broadmoor sirens

me and my bro wrote a rap about what we were doing to the beat of this..... pretty awesome
This looks nearly like the throttle body in a school bus. (Because a throttle body is basically a butterfly valve actuated by the throttle pulley).
What type of solenoid is that? I want to build a coding mechanism, but I can't seem to find the right type.
They're solenoids from a 3T22.
Geez, no wonder these things wore out so easily over the years.

*klaxon CS8 not broadmoor siren lol
+Mr.Someone \Tom/ Whoops
JUSTIN O.K.
LoL

Shannon McCarthy
Ok Thanks, I'm pretty sure we all know that but if that is not the case then we have learned something :-)
Looks like a United Kingdom siren from what I know about the UK.
The dampers sound like when i close and open my house air vents😂
This is what allows the 3T22 to sound HI-LO, correct?
You are correct. This also allows the 1003 to do HI-LO
Pretty much, except the plunger is a little different for the 1003; coil is the same though.
Those are some load dampers
wave machines have these!
Correct
Wonder if you put a British siren under if it would sound like a Klaxon cs8
or remove the 3t22 horns its an klaxon cs8
These look EXACTLY like the ends of CS8s
I think the CS8 is supposed to look like a 3T22 on its side with different damper motors and no horns
Yeah
Such a Satisfying Sound.
How did the solenoids speed up?
@Mrsciencetificsasuke the solenoid pull to open the damper.
I wonder how much it would hurt to put your finger in it.
So that how it works that’s cool and is you see this look up a 3t22 Clyde oh and the dampers where never opened so it’s very high pich
yeah.. but how is it still loud tho?
nice they sound good
this is a part of the klaxon CS8
No. Its a part of a 3T22.
@@Sipex6484 I know I just got it wrong because my keyboard errors sometimes and it is kinda similar to the klaxon CS8.
lol they sound like mechanical drumming lol good way to get a band started lol
Thats me eating lol
And today on: How to chop off a hand....”
R.I.P springs...
Looks like something from a rhythm game or a weird little Einsteins episode where they shrink down into some machine
That’s cool
Aren't those used for hi-lo
Yes.
Yes
I could imagine this and then someone dancing in the background XD
I fucking love your nickname.
they look just like the end of a cs8
That is the solenoid
DANGER OF AMPUTATION
thats sounds I little satisfying lol
Nope it pulls to close it.

Sound like 100000% old motor
