Christi - in the final episode, Samantha sings a duet with Tim - him in Italian, her in English. To me, it was like Dusty Springfield had come back, and was singing through her.
Although Dutch, I never watched this show bevoer. ‘Not my kind of music’ I thought, being mostly interested in classical. But when the - by now famous - duet with Henk Poort was shown in my TH-cam timeline I was curious with whom he sang. Knew Henk as a very good musical theater and opera singer, but knew ontging about Floor. That led to looking the whole season on the internet and got me hooked. I even have seen many Nightwish videos nu now and (to my surprise) I quite like it. Reminds me of the highly musical Pink Floyd and early Genisis ‘stories’ of my youth (before I turned into classical). There were great performances in Beste Zangers: all songs by Floor, but also the songs sung for her: Henk Poort (Sound of silene), Emma Heesters (Strong, written by Floor herself), Tim Akkerman (Nemo) and Rolf Sanchez (great rendition of Hotel California). I even learned about the existence of ‘reaction videos’ and especially like yours!
Christy, I'm replying to your comment because I want you personally to see this one, but the thing I love most about your reaction is, i'm assuming you don't know a single word of Dutch (neither do I) and yet throughout your entire reaction, you never mentioned this. You just stayed fixated on Floor's mesmerising voice, and kept the comments confined to how the performance made you feel. It speaks volumes about an artist's vocal ability when they can make their listeners feel so captivated even when they haven't got a clue what's actually being sung. Thank you for such a pure reaction.
Her first song in Beste Zangers was Vilja Lied. And before that they haven't heard her. Except one of them but it was back when Floor was in After Forever.
Floor Jansen is a Miracle of Nature... Her voice can penetrate your soul, and (for my personal taste) She is one of the most beautiful women to grace planet Earth...❤️
This song is written in the style and form of the Dutch "Levenslied" (Song of Life) which you could call the "Dutch Blues", because although the musical structure in terms of chords, harmonies and melodies is quite different from the American Blues, the intention is very much the same: its raw and emotional rendition of the pain and feelings of life
Yes, Floor was barely known in the Netherlands, her home country, before she took part in this TV show Beste Zangers. Well of course the metalheads knew her but there are not so many of them. Now everyone knows her talent and her ability to sing what ever song you put in front of her! I'm so happy for her that she finally got what she deserves and has worked so hard for over ten years!
Be sure not to skip over "About Love, I Don't Know a Thing" sung by Floor from the same series. That one pings the heart a bit. Written by 20 year old Ruben Annink about his parents divorcing... Superb!
Some people say that Floor's super power as a singer are her dynamic changes. Her ability to play with volume. But for me, those dynamic switches are aided by her tonal /color changes anyway. And I've always been impressed from the beginning by her ability to change tones, like Dimash does.
This performance always stood out to me, because it shows her ability to be very agile with her voice which we don't see very often. And to show this agility on her belts, on her full powerful voice, that is not as easy to do as when you're singing lightly. And all the colours and the distortion that she shows, and of course the emotion which is just so palpable throughout.
During the one of the shows Samantha commented that Floor sings things like "she is peeling potatoes at the kitchen table" meaning she sings like it's the easiest thing in the world to do.
Floor always makes it sound in comments like she is not doing anything special. Like anybody should be able to do it. I sometimes wonder does she have any idea what a rare and special talent she is?😊😍
I gotta keep saying this...from your intros, your bg music, the tone of your voice and your wording...you are so sweet and you transmit so many good vibes and...heck I don't even sing or have any interest on singing lol...nice vid as always! Always stay sweet :)
Samantha does Nightwish "Our Decades in the Sun" wich is interesting cuz Nightwish does not play it live it's very emotional for them.... so Samantha is the only known live performance of song and she nails it
Awesome 😃 I really look forward to these reactions. Thank you 😊 Floor continues to amaze, but there are still more songs, styles and tones to see. She is amazing
When Floor relates to the lyrics, she will make any song better. She has to feel it, otherwise she won’t sing it. She is definitely a storyteller with multiple resources. We metal heads use to say since 2015 that Floor was the best thing that ever happened to Nightwish. The band can perform anything now.
This video made me realize that Floor would be the perfect singer to do a Bond movie theme song. She can do super intense soft parts, and then crank up the volume like no other. Someone contact the studio!
I love watching all reactions to Floir & Nightwish but 2 ate my favorites. Old fans of NW who never heard Floor & musicians/singers who can appreciate and analyze at a different level than a music appreciator. Thank you for taking the Nightwish journey! ❤️
I think it was Rolf Sanchez who remarked after her performance of his Que se siente song "How do you make everything better?" But yeah, for us voice lovers, Floor is a real gold mine! And you could see Samantha wanting to sing along the whole time :-D
Rubin, after her interpretation of his song, told her it was insane how she took songs and made them so much better. She told him it was because he wrote such great songs. I think both were right. iirc Rolf too mentions something similar, but not when she did his tune. Denise's translations got yanked, and she is working to get them on Daily motion. Rolf's show is already up (it was one of those blocked early, while others were left alone), he does mention how powerful Samantha is too. Her song for him made the whole crew cry. Rolf does say how great Floor's version is, and how much it surprised him. Before it started he wondered how she was going to add "Floor" into his song. She sure showed him how it was done, though she said it was hard for her to figure out how to do it.
What a great concept, artists if not performing like to hear their material being performed and here they all honor each other by the artist's original material or material personal in some way to the artist. There wasn't a bum performance all series and it was fun exploring what each of them brought to the show.
And singing in Dutch! Rare and with a accent she doesn't have when singing English. From Samantha: th-cam.com/video/6kxocWr0YHI/w-d-xo.html (Dutch version of: "Our decades in the sun" from nightwish). She also did sing one song in English: "just the way I do".
Hi Christi. Happy 2020. You look pretty and so did Floor in this video. I think this the band that she has going on tour. If you want to hear her growl in Yours is an empty hope and a song with Revamp.
Translation for dutch. Mama, can I talk to you for a second? Because life is not going well for me I have everything i love, but I don't feel love anymore I really need you now It's hurting me too much Mama, tell me how i should live Please tell me how you do that I lost it for a while Oooh oh mama, why don't I look like you? The strongest example of a mother and a woman Mama, where did i lose myself? At this table you have taught me everything Can't eat, can't talk, can't dance, can't sleep Can't smile, can't resist to be drowning in my tears Oh ohohoh, mama Tell me how i should live Please tell me how you do that I lost it for a while Oh ooh, mama Why don't i look like you? The strongest example of a mother and a woman Oh ohohoh, mama Tell me how i should live Tell me how you do that I really lost it now Oh ooh, mama Why don't I look like you? The strongest example of a mother and a woman These are the dutch lyrics : Mama, kan ik even met je praten?
Great reaction Kristie, as always. Floor sang this one to Samantha Steenwijk, (The blonde lady in red jacket) who made the original. Here's the translation of the lyrics in English from this powerful ballad. Mama /Mom/Mum Mama, can I talk to you for a moment, because life is not going well I have everything that I love, but I don't feel love anymore I really need you now, it's hurting me too much Mama, tell me how to live Tell me how you do that I have lost it for a bit Ohhh, mama, why am I not like you The strongest example Of a mother and a woman Mama where have I lost myself At this table you taught me everything, didnt you Can't eat, can't talk, can't dance, can't sleep, can't laugh and can't resist To drown in my tears, ohhh Mama, tell me how to live Tell me how you do that I have lost it for a bit Ohhh, mama, why am I not like you The strongest example Of a mother and a woman Mama, tell me how to live Tell me how you do that I have lost it for a bit Ohhh, mama, why am I not like you The strongest example Of a mother and a woman
This and Emma singing "Strong" to Floor, and Henk coaching Emma and doing that magnificent Vivo pour Lei, are my favourite three performances on this show. Amazingly Floors duets with Tim and Henk and her solo Shallow, only rank 456 lol... And I haven't seen everything yet. I like seeing songwriters watch their own work become immortal. Yes it's pressure to sing the songwriters song right to them, that's good pressure though...audition pressure. I think songwriters know, though, that a songwriter is always thinking that they as a vocalist did not get everything out of their own song.
Great analysis, again! Of a fantastic singer I only found out about through your channel. :) Floor is beyond the beyond in skill. Just a delight every single time. Breathtaking is such an excellent descriptor of Floor's singing (not to mention that her breath control is out of this world!). As is "enchanting" - for she truly is! As an aside, your "yech" at "the rules" made me laugh ... I SO hear you ... and I'm still happy you are following them ... because it is what it is, eh? And ... extra amusement in your reactions for those of us watching.
For me, it is striking to hear that Floor sings in a different Dutch accent than Samantha does. They and their mothers are from different parts of the country, so especially Floor's G-sound is softer like it is in Noord-Braband, compared to how it sounds in The Hague where Samantha is from. This tells me that each of them really sings to their mothers.
Thanks for this reaction!!! It is a nice one...when Floor was with her former band: After Forever she wrote a song for her mother who suffers from rheumatism called: Strong,...Emma Heesters is singing this song too Floor on this show its magical and mind blowing 😲
Yeah! In any point of the show Floor was asked if she’d prefer to sing in a arena or intimate show like that and she said that singing straight for the owner of the songs was hell scarier than singing for thousands
Hey, since you're so in love with Floor, and from your other Nightwish reactions I can tell you have a lot of appreciation for what they do, check the production level of "The Greatest Show on Earth", live in Tampere. Brilliant idea, brilliant story (prepare yourself and read the lyrics in advance, it's quite a ride), brilliant performance and execution + a few surprises. I can't recommend it enough. You can hear more of her and Marko's (the basist) voice working together beautifully. I chose this particular video because it contains the complete ending of the concert (yes, that amount of energy even on the last song of the concert) th-cam.com/video/45brzDJKZ3o/w-d-xo.html
Did you ever think this is where we would be from that first time listening to Ghost Love Score.. And now we are. I wish you would recount your trip down this road and give your thoughts on it. :-) Would be worth the watch.
Just curious. Some languages sound so beautiful, even if you don't understand a word that's been said. And every language has its own unique style of musical choices that goes with it, regardless of genre. I love the the sound of the French and the Italians and it's always typical French, or typical Italian, like this song 'Mama' is as typical Dutch as a Dutch song can get. But how do you conceive the Dutch language in Dutch songs? I'm fully aware that this may be the only Dutch song you now know, but still, I'm curious. Like I wrote, some languages sound so pretty to my ears. Some others...., not so much. I'm Dutch myself and I hate 95% of the songs written in Dutch. This means there are exceptions, but they're rare. So, what's it like for anyone who isn't Dutch (or Flemish) to hear Dutch music being sung in Dutch? The more comments I get on this, the happier I'll be. No need to be polite. I prefer an honest opinion. I won't feel hurt. I promise! 😁
(quoted from HD) English lyrics : Mama (original Samantha Steenwijk) Mama, can I talk to you for a moment? Because life is not going well for me I have everything that's dear to me , but I don't feel love anymore I really need you now It's hurting me too much Mama, tell me how i should live Please tell me how you do that I lost it for a while Oooh oh mama, why am i not like you? The strongest example of a mother and a woman Mama, where did i lose myself? @@user-HD4891 I am somewhat ashamed that I didn't really pay attention to the band for the first 2-3 shows. Then when I noticed them, after multiple replays of Denise Hof's translated shows, they continued to impress every week. Many of the songs on the show are not in genres I normally follow but I can always respect artistry. Something which this cast has no shortage of.
@@user-HD4891 Haha, no I haven't seen that (Love of Music ?? crude translation) as I'm only about 7,000km away. Time to look it up. However, my playlist is almost entirely EU bands, (the above mentioned, Delain, Kirlian Camera, Funker Vogt, Mono Inc, Seelennacht, Xandria, etc...)
If you notice Floor Jansen is a very well built woman..I believe she is taller than anyone else in Nightwish..for example ;)! A large body gives resonance ...probably her head are a bit larger than most other women I think that helps her a lot..! It gives her both body and warmth in her voice..! But then she also is extremely musical..she can do the right choices in every single note she is just incredible..!
In Dutch Floor speaks with a “southern” accent (pronouncing the G a lot softer). You can really hear that in this song. Absolutely love Floor’s voice. As a Dutchie it’s even more special to hear her sing in her native tongue for the 1st time 😍😍 Great reaction as usual!! Love your channel 👍🏻🙏🏻
if you want to see something unique, someone put together Floor and Taja duets. Its pretty interesting hearing the past and present, and their interpretations.
Christi, you're new to metal, right? It's a new genre, but it is deeply rooted, not only in current events, but myth, history and literature. It is common for metal singers to sing in character, including some a lot less familiar than a daughter speaking to her mom. Here are a few examples Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden, Powerslave and Hallowed Be Thy Name, Eric Adams of Manowar Battle Hymn, Blackie Lawless of WASP The Idol, Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian Valhalla, Michael Kiske of Helloween A Tale That Wasn't Right, Fabio Lione Rhapsody of Fire Son of Pain and Britney Slayes of Unleash the Archers Awakening.
Lovely reaction yet again. Remember to check out Floor's powerfull "Qué Se Siente" from same show: th-cam.com/video/DfYeLUoqw0E/w-d-xo.html. Floor sings it in Spanish and what an absolute blast of a performance. Track itself is also very atmospheric, soft rock arranged version. Highly recommended!
Samantha translates & adapts the lyrics for the Nightwish song "Our Decades in the Sun" to produce her Dutch version: "Ik ben altijd dicht bij jou" ("I am Always Close to You"). It's a song that has never been performed by Nightwish as it is a very emotional song about parents and brought Floor to tears over and over again during the recording process.
This was the first time she performed in dutch funny enough. Most dutch singers sing in English. If you do not they tend to call it volksmuziek (folk music) which just means it is in dutch and says nothing about the genre (it used to in the old days, then it was a very sentimental kind of music sang by working class people). As usual Floor knocks it out the park.
Some information. Floor was born in the southern part of the Netherlands, called 'below the rivers' the natural border. That basically means the harsh accent, the typical guttural g in the Dutch language, is way less pronounced, when compared to Samantha singing the same song. The southern part is more like Flemish in pronunciation, Floor sang it in her natural voice, without that guttural sound.
@@user-HD4891 I know, just not sure she was born there. Think she told in an interview in 2012, she moved to Goirle (which is pronounced by the locals as Gool).
Ok Christie, a little Floor tid bit. Floor would buy cd's of artist and teach herself to sing like and sound like the artist at hand. I read this from an interview and i believe it was around ages 11 - 13/14. Brilliant for a child if you stop to ponder this. Thank you once again for sharing your love of music.
I think there is more pressure on the artist that Floor is covering. They know they will never be able to sing it at her level. Once she sings one of your songs she owns it 😍🤘
Hello Christi: Yes, Floor one of the best versatile and emotionally impactful female vocalists performing today. Re: EIVOR : Again, once you ( or your subscribers) privately or publicly react to Eivor , you will experience the most unheralded unique and emotionally impactful world class vocalist. If I might be as so bold as to suggest you commence your Eivor journey with : Eivor trollabundin” ( first vid 5:44). ( from the Faroe Islands and trollabundin meaning ‘spellbound’ and all who watch this amazing.video in her native language will be spellbound.). Wish I was there outdoors sitting with the audience. Great tribal mystical vibes that will open the floodgates of your spiritual heart and soul. ( Diana Ankudinova!) . Atmospheric, mesmerizing hypnotic vocal prowess. The island’s backdrop scenery of mountains and rivers are breathtakingly beautiful and I wish I could have booked a plane and been there sitting among those lucky island fans. Then ( with band): Eivor “ falling free” (the one that’s 6:47 duration. In English and different in style from the first one I recommend but it’s an epic performance !!. It’s on the island but inside I believe a restaurant seating capacity ( when the camera panned the audience) probably 300 lucky lucky souls to witnessed this beyond amazing performance. She put it on TH-cam about 3 years ago and very few views and likes. If she performed it in America and there were 50,000 in attendance , all 50,000 would be screaming and yelling for a long time during and after the performance. The strobe lightening camera angles, her otherworldly vocal all combine to make this rendition epic and memorable. At the end , she hits a note that is so celestial so mystical so heavenly that only the great Dimash could execute with the emotional impact and celestial purity that Eivor does. And a band member on drums was really into it! Watch the drummer go crazzzzzyyyy!!! This is just a brief 2 song sampling showcasing her stylistic versatility. Many more to explore on her webpage. She’s still active and giving a concert in March and reading the comments of those that show up for her concerts , they unanimously agree the best live performance by a world class singer in their lifetimes. Happiest of New Years to you and your from me and mine. Love is all, Al
This song brings me to tears whenever I hear it. Floor knows how to tell stories in song. I call her a 'vocal magician'. The first time I heard her sing was Wacken 2013. Magnificence is the word I use for that concert b/c is was her first big one with Nightwish. Tuomas said she had to "learn the setlist in 48 hours" and she did!(BTW if you haven't heard Floor sing 'Storytime' from Wacken, now would be a good time to give your excellent analysis of it). The first time I heard Nightwish was at Hartwall Areena in 2006 when the original singer with the operatic voice, Tarja Turunen, was the frontwoman. Then came Anette Olzon who was really a rock singer not a metal singer. She was not able to sing Nightwish's Symphonic Metal material so she left the band. Soon thereafter, Nightwish's founder(with Tarja) Tuomas Holopainen, reconnected with Floor who had left her band After Forever and was recovering from a deep depression. She had worked with Tarja and Nighwish before so there was a connection. And the rest, as they say, is history. Oh I forgot, there is another vocal coach whose expertise is exceptional and who tells her students about dropping their jaw to relax the muscles and make more power. Her name is Linor Oren, maybe you know of her? She plays Floor, Dimash and Nighwish.
hello Christi - first I would like to wish you and your family a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. May all your wishes come true and I am looking forward to many new videos of you. To Floor - she doesn't interpret music pieces, she assimilates them and makes them her own. But she can only do that because she is so versatile - no matter what genre, she has proven in this show that she masters them all, classical, rock, folk - no matter what, she knows how to convince everywhere. here are the english lyrics to this song - i assume that most of your followers will understand better what it's about - it's a hymn for all mothers: Mommy, can I talk to you for a second, because life's not for me for a while? I have everything I love, but I don't feel any more love I really need you now, it hurts me too much. Mama, tell me how to live. Tell me how you do that. I'm just looking for it. Ohhh, Mama, why don't I look like you The strongest example From a mother and a woman Mama, where did I lose myself? At this table, you taught me everything... Can't eat, can't talk, can't dance, can't sleep, can't laugh, can't let it go. To drown in my tears, ohhhh Mama, tell me how to live. Tell me how you do that. I'm just looking for it. Ohhh, Mama, why don't I look like you The strongest example From a mother and a woman Ohhh, Mama, tell me how to live. Tell me how you do that. I'm really lost now. Ohhh, Mama, why don't I look like you The strongest example From a mother and a woman
This was one of the few songs done, that I could see the original person swapped in and doing nearly as well. Samantha can belt it out too and this was not that far off her version. When this show popped onto my radar I only knew of Floor's quality, some of Samantha's, through her audition on The Voice, and recognized Emma as someone who had popped up on recommendations on my YT pages used while not logged on.
When the songwriter blurts out 'holy shit' after hearing your version of their song. 🤣 And yeah Samantha is herself a lovely vocalist, lower range and huskier.
Your reactions are really entertaining to watch. I really hope Floor also sees them. But as much as you (and I) love Floor, I would like to see you reacting Nightwish - Phantom of The Opera (End of an Era) with their first singer, Tarja Turunen. Marko (the bassist) also shows his vocal abilities there. It's definitely not the best song to show Tarja's full potential, but it's fun song, and Marko really gives there everything he has =)
I love the time you give to speak about the technical parts of her voice 😉 Floor recently gave this interview th-cam.com/video/37APAmmne3U/w-d-xo.html where they ask her of what she think of all these reactions videos about her voice ( they are so many " vocal coach" right now in TH-cam 🤣) she says she appreciates a lot all the comments they make but especially the ones about her vocal technique because she describes herself as a nerd in that sense, it is something she has worked and studied a lot 😀❤️
She recently did a live stream and someone asked what she thinks about the vocal couches reacting to her singing. And she said it would be great if they actually did react to her and not just say " Wow", "Amazing" etc... She gives vocal lessons so she doesn't understand why they don't dissect it technically.
@@barbaravance6774 Well, that's because she has never experienced a Floorgasm herself, so she doesn't understand the effect it has on people, even vocal coaches xD
hello, Antonio from Italy, what a great job you do on reaction, may I suggest you Floor Jansen from Beste Zangers with the song ABOUT LOVE I DON'T KNOW A THING and also QUE SE SIENTE (in spanish) from the same show. For me two great songs!! I hope you will join
Yes, I would also recommend that song from Samantha on this show. Samantha is also a great and powerful singer and nails that Nighwish song in a Dutch version.
I couldn't sing a song ever again after Floor sings it. I would just have to retire the song forever. I would just give it to her and say here, you can have it I'm done. Lol
This was the first episode where they blacked out Floor a bit to illustrate her musical affinity. I think she blew the other participants minds not being familiar with the force unleashed on them.
@@syyneater I could be wrong. Either way, even with Tim knowing about Floor, he seemed surprised and impressed. Everybody else was surprised and SHOCKED!

3 reactors I'm subscribed to have done Floor today. Awesome.
@JS 09
Probably Vocal Splendor Studios and React To The World. At least they are the ones that popped up for me today. Oh and Nephi Acaling.
Nephi and vocal splendor studios.
I'm actually subscribed to "react to the world" as well. Somehow I didn't get the notification this morning about floors video that they have.
Ella es maravillosa, es nuestra reina 😍😍❤️🎵🎶🎵👸👸👸👸❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍
This video made me realize that Floor would be the perfect singer to do a Bond movie theme song. She can do super intense soft parts, and then crank up the volume like no other. Someone contact the studio!
For more of Floor's strong belts, check out three songs from the Wacken 2013 show: Everdream, Storytime, and Dark Chest of Wonder. That lady amazes!
Thank you, Christi, for this lovely reaction. You are appreciated and loved.
What a great concept, artists if not performing like to hear their material being performed and here they all honor each other by the artist's original material or material personal in some way to the artist. There wasn't a bum performance all series and it was fun exploring what each of them brought to the show.
You should react to Nightwish Dead Boys Poem live Buenos Aires 2018. Very beautiful.
Fan crush!! Floor ❤

Absolutely love listening to your reactions such great knowledge.. Always a pleasure .
Thank you so much for reacting to this one..... I knew you would love it
I agree with everything you said.
Because life is not going well for me
I have everything i love, but I don't feel love anymore
I really need you now It's hurting me too much
Mama, tell me how i should live
Please tell me how you do that
I lost it for a while Oooh oh mama, why don't I look like you?
The strongest example of a mother and a woman
Mama, where did i lose myself? At this table you have taught me everything
Can't eat, can't talk, can't dance, can't sleep Can't smile, can't resist to be drowning in my tears
Oh ohohoh, mama Tell me how i should live

These are the dutch lyrics :
Mama, kan ik even met je praten?
Want het leven zit me eventjes niet mee
Ik heb alles wat me lief is
Maar ik voel geen liefde meer
Ik heb je nu echt nodig
Het doet me teveel zeer
Mama, zeg me hoe ik leven moet
Oh ohohoh, mama
Zeg me hoe ik leven moet
Zeg me dan hoe jij dat doet
Ik ben het even zoek
Oh ooh, mama
Waarom lijk ik niet op jou?
Het allersterkste voorbeeld van een moeder en een vrouw
Oh ohohoh, mama
Zeg me hoe ik leven moet
Zeg me dan hoe jij dat doet
Ik ben het nu echt zoek
Oh ooh, mama
Waarom lijk ik niet op jou?
Het allersterkste voorbeeld van een moeder en een vrouw
Finally! Been waiting for this one! Great reaction! Love it!
Great reaction Kristie, as always. Floor sang this one to Samantha Steenwijk, (The blonde lady in red jacket) who made the original. Here's the translation of the lyrics in English from this powerful ballad.

Thank you for reacting to Floor on Beste Zangers, And you are pretty good too Lady 👍👀🐱👤
Beautiful reaction! Thank you
For me, it is striking to hear that Floor sings in a different Dutch accent than Samantha does. They and their mothers are from different parts of the country, so especially Floor's G-sound is softer like it is in Noord-Braband, compared to how it sounds in The Hague where Samantha is from. This tells me that each of them really sings to their mothers.
Breathtaking is right. I would love for you to react to Dead Boy's Poem from the nightwish Buenos Aires DVD. Goosebumps every time.
Thanks for this reaction!!! It is a nice one...when Floor was with her former band: After Forever she wrote a song for her mother who suffers from rheumatism called: Strong,...Emma Heesters is singing this song too Floor on this show its magical and mind blowing 😲
The way Floor is performing this song it is sounding as a beautiful cry for help.
It was. It was about Samantha asking for her Mum's acceptance when Sam came out as bisexual, and her Mum didn't initially react very well to it.
That one guy with the white shirt always has his mouth open in shock when Floor sings. lol
There is a video on youtube from 2013 where she does a Puccini song mio babbino caro. Amazing!
Awesome reaction as usual Christi..!!! Thank you !!! ❤
I chose this particular video because it contains the complete ending of the concert (yes, that amount of energy even on the last song of the concert)

Did you ever think this is where we would be from that first time listening to Ghost Love Score.. And now we are. I wish you would recount your trip down this road and give your thoughts on it. :-) Would be worth the watch.
Rolf Sanchez Celine Dion's "All by Myself" Beste Zangers 2019 (Tribute to Samantha)
I promise! 😁
Samantha singing "Our Decades in the sun" a nightwish song for Floor Jansen
Floor shouting out "Mama" right after the guitar solo was probably the loudest belt of this entire BesteZangers season.

@@user-HD4891 Glad to! Amazing song, and well... Floor...
@@user-HD4891 Gods, yes. Simone would be good, or one of my favorites Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation)
@@williamklett6660 have heard that Sharon was in this show, but it seems she haven't so huge success like Floor.
Perhaps Floor is simply the best at this time. At least, we are fortunate enough to witness it.
As a Dutchie it’s even more special to hear her sing in her native tongue for the 1st time 😍😍
Great reaction as usual!! Love your channel 👍🏻🙏🏻
also the lyrics of the song are great. And btw i can't sing ( only false when i am alone) , but love you're reactions.
Another beautiful reaction, and yes more Nightwish please
if you want to see something unique, someone put together Floor and Taja duets.
Floors Brabantian accent nailed it for me!
Que Se Siente next
To make Dutch sound this good, you MUST be great... :)
This is great, Floor is smiling all the time.
This is such a power song.
Nightwish should do their own metal arrangement of it and blast 80,000 people at a time.
Another great reaction - only comment I missed is that she's singing this song in her native tongue, which is kind of a rarity :)
Why? Dutch program, Dutch original written, what is wrong with it.
@@hansevers6407 Nothing's wrong with it, it's just remarkable. She almost always sings in English :)
Floor is like great candy in wrapper, always giving great positive surprices 😘
I think there is more pressure on the artist that Floor is covering. They know they will never be able to sing it at her level. Once she sings one of your songs she owns it 😍🤘
Yep that's price you have to pay.😀
the whole show is singing to the person that made it :) or a song near to them i guess,, since the phantom becomes a problem :)
Hello Christi:
Yes, Floor one of the best versatile and emotionally impactful female vocalists performing today.
Re: EIVOR :
Again, once you ( or your subscribers) privately or publicly react to Eivor , you will experience the most unheralded unique and emotionally impactful world class vocalist. If I might be as so bold as to suggest you commence your Eivor journey with :
Eivor trollabundin” ( first vid 5:44).
Then ( with band):
Eivor “ falling free” (the one that’s 6:47 duration.
The strobe lightening
camera angles, her otherworldly vocal all combine to make this rendition epic and memorable.
Love is all,
Al
YES MAAM! 😯
"A Vocal Sorceress,"
INDEED!"
~MS.L~
But she can only do that because she is so versatile - no matter what genre, she has proven in this show that she masters them all, classical, rock, folk - no matter what, she knows how to convince everywhere.
here are the english lyrics to this song - i assume that most of your followers will understand better what it's about - it's a hymn for all mothers:
Mommy, can I talk to you for a second, because life's not for me for a while?
I have everything I love, but I don't feel any more love
I really need you now, it hurts me too much.

This saves so time much typing.😁
This was one of the few songs done, that I could see the original person swapped in and doing nearly as well. Samantha can belt it out too and this was not that far off her version. When this show popped onto my radar I only knew of Floor's quality, some of Samantha's, through her audition on The Voice, and recognized Emma as someone who had popped up on recommendations on my YT pages used while not logged on.
When the songwriter blurts out 'holy shit' after hearing your version of their song. 🤣
And yeah Samantha is herself a lovely vocalist, lower range and huskier.
You should also listen to Samantha's version. She has her own very powerful voice. Very rich and deep. Very emotional version as well.
Yeah, e g. Samatha's version of NW's "Our decades in the sun" in Dutch 🤗
It's definitely not the best song to show Tarja's full potential, but it's fun song, and Marko really gives there everything he has =)
Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem from Buenos Aires 2018 would be a thing.. 😁😁
Floor Jansen is a powerful singer and has so many dynamics down.
I love the time you give to speak about the technical parts of her voice 😉
Floor recently gave this interview th-cam.com/video/37APAmmne3U/w-d-xo.html where they ask her of what she think of all these reactions videos about her voice ( they are so many
" vocal coach" right now in TH-cam 🤣)
she says she appreciates a lot all the comments they make but especially the ones about her vocal technique
because she describes herself as a nerd in that sense, it is something she has worked and studied a lot 😀❤️

I thought this was the Second episode. In the first one, she sang to Henk. Or are the two episodes mixed up for me?
@@jamescurfman3284 then you must be right. I got then mixed them up.
