FLOOR just won "THE ARTIST OF THE YEAR" award in the Netherlands. 6 months ago they didn't even know who she was, this show and her performance changed all that.

She's truly one in billions. I doubt we'll see anyone like her again. It goes so far beyond training and natural talent, her level of empathy combined with it is rare as shit. She can feel anything about the music she performs, and she can make anyone feel exactly what she's feeling at the drop of a hat. MyLady, this reaction is SO VERY authentic, so deep, so inspiring, so intense, so extremely honest and beautiful...so meaningful...I'm so happy and honoured I was part of this, in feeling, what life and love is all about. A huge "Thank You" goes out from my heart to yours...
I'm glad she won, well deserved but the Popprijs is more an industry award. It's for a Dutch artist/group that did the most for Dutch music internationally in 2019. Says nothing about her amazing voice, her awesomeness or anyting. Still, more awards for Floor is a good thing.
Ruben wrote this song about his parents divorce. That is why it is hitting him so hard. This and Floors outstanding and genuine performance. Henk's parents also got divorced and he said that this performance hit him hard, even all these years later.
Tim Akkerman had recently gone thru a divorce with him having two small children in the relationship. So you can see that the song touched him as well. See the 4:51 mark.
Agree, I burst into tears hearing that version first time 2 weeks ago on the live album "Decades". For long time NW fans that album is so good, Floor brings so much to the old songs, but she never tries to be like the other singers, she adds her own essence to the songs.
Christi,Floor made me cry and so did you, such were the purity of your reaction and emotions. You finished your critique with the most beautiful and heartfelt words, just the perfect panacea for sometimes such a hard and heartless World. You just showed the power of love and light. Thank you !! ❤
I was exactly the same, just about got a grip on myself & then with the final outro words at 13:12, started me again. Christi herself is a blessing to us all in this world with her messages of inspiration, love & joy.
You started this series with a Floor and Henk duet, which was my first introduction to her even before Nightwish. She then performs stunning songs in German, Dutch and Spanish. She wraps it up leaving everyone in tears, something that will never happen with Nightwish. As popular as Nighwish is and I do appreciate their approach to the genre, I left that behind in the early 80s with Pink Floyd, bless their souls. You give me an evening with Floor with a similar set as was performed on Beste Zangers and I'll be in the front row to bask in a truly sublime experience. Not sure that will ever come to be in my lifetime, but it is okay to dream I guess. Wish she was here.
You have to listen to this th-cam.com/video/Y46Lft_BZxo/w-d-xo.html definitely if you like Pink Floyd. This is a rendition from singer and band who are the inspiration for Floor. Enjoy
@@hansevers6407 I think my feelings about Pink Floyd are more past tense vs a time long ago. Not so much anymore. I think as much as I enjoyed seeing them perform The Wall back in 1980, my musical tastes have moved along. Course I'm old as shit, so I'm sure you understand. The band that recently raised my endorphins the most, and who would have loved to see live back in the 70s & 80s (if they had actually existed then), would be Caravan Palace (from the early part of this decade). Last concert I attended was PostModern Jukebox 3 years ago and not only was the music too loud for my ears so was the crowd. That's a damn sad condition for my ears, but I blame that on a ZZTop concert that left my ears ringing for three days. The point is I'm afraid, while your link was informative (thank you for that) I was not grabbed by the submission for more than a couple of minutes. That is not a value judgement of their music, just me & my current musical tastes. The first I learned of Floor with her duet with Henk on a reaction video. Then I went looking at her Nightwish performances and how they reminded me somewhat of Pink Floyd. Not a doppelganger but just the symphonic quality of the music. There are a couple of the Beste Zangers pieces that Floor sang that ended up on my playlist, more for their understated delivery over her belting. My lasting impression is, she's damn talented singer who needs more recognition for the broad qualities of her expertise. haha, I think I'm actually repeating myself after just now reviewing what my initial post said. Did I mention I was getting old?
I've been following your page for a while & decided to revisit to see if I missed anything & your reactions are always so positive & lovely. Makes me smile in a big way. You know all about the technical stuff but you pick up on the stuff that isn't tangible, the feels I guess for want of a better term. I couldn't find your review of Floor doing Winner, I imagine it's a tear fest as well lol. Never lose your humanity 😊
If you want to watch Floor receive this gift of emotion herself, watch Emma perform Strong for her. It's a song that Floor wrote for her mother who deals with strong chronic pain, and she doesn't perform it anymore because she can't sing it without crying. Emma added a lot of her own feelings to the song - her mother, too, has had it rough, since she is a cancer survivor. Emma and Floor share that close emotional connection. It's honestly a gorgeous piece, performed by a beautiful voice and loaded with so much emotion. You should go see it. :')
Floor Jansen showing that she could sing country and absolutely kill it. She could sing anything and be successful. I count myself so lucky that she's chosen Metal, though.
Metal is more or less a blank slate for any artist. You can express your art however you want, without too much of the confines of expected protocol and technique (as in opera). With pop and country, in my observations anyway, the studios have tight control on what you can do and how you do it. Maybe that's a reason why Floor chooses to stay in that genre. Plus, she's just that way, very bold and powerful in her singing, and she has to do the windmilling. So...metal it is!
@@fnglert You can't help but notice how she will inject a lot of powerful vocals into even the more pop-ish songs, like Everdream. In the Wacken 2013 version, she starts out by saying "now we'll do something a little softer...", and before long she's blowing out the speakers. OK, so much for softer, ha! But that's rock and metal. It's about the power and energy.
Ruben was one of the most humble, generous artists on this show, and that is saying a lot! There was one episode where Emma sang a song in Dutch, which as primarily a youtube cover artist she genrally doesn't do. Among the great reactions that the audience had, they all encouraged her to sing more often in Dutch, and Ruben made a serious offer to write the songs for her. For Floor, this show gave her a great opportunity to play in other music genres and expand her exposure in her native country. Watching the reactions from the other singers who had, except for Tim and Henk, never heard of her her or any of her work, was terrific.
Ruben wrote the song about his parents' breakup and divorce. It hit some of the other artists as Henk shared his parents also divorced and Tim shared he and his wife were separated and the effect on their children. Floor and Irene took Ruben's sensitive song and really took it to another level - bravo to all involved. That means you too Christi, wonderful reaction and analysis.
The nice thing of Dutch artists , is that they love to work together. There is no hate or jealousy, but they love to inspire each other and get the best out of them all. I read weird stories about some American artists and how not involved they are with each other. Music is love people. No matter which genre. I am into classical music and Metal (because of my musical training...I need the challenge that I can't find in hiphop or other modern music, that's totally personal, no judgement) But when I see these artists perform with other artists it makes my heart beats faster. Music is love and passion! Fiends of Amstel live ( Vrienden van Amstel live) is a yearly concert with many Dutch singers and bands performing together and it is spectaculair.
And again another GREAT reaction of my favorite reactor. There are a lot of great reactors on TH-cam, but with you I get the same feeling as with Floor: honesty, integrity, love, inner beauty, professionality. No self-glorification by method of dramatic gestures, overenthusiastic words or other weird behaviour. When you speak, you grab my attention like Floor does when she sings. Keep up the good work!
Wonderful reaction. This was one of my favourite performances by Floor on this series, and it really showcases her ability to constantly vary parts of her vocal configuration, and to use that ability to tell a story. She's constantly changing the amount of cord closure and power she uses, and occasionally adds vibrato or rasp for further embellishment, but she does all that to help tell the story and not for its own sake. If you are looking for more Floor performances to react to, I'd again suggest Nightwish Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean live from Buenos Aires as it features Floor doing a lot of really cool stuff. Or if you want a performance where she uses her growling ability you could do Nightwish - Yours is an Empty Hope (Live), or ReVamp - Wild Card (MFVF XI).
A generosity of spirit. This is a tatooed, usually leather-clad METAL singer. She sings her heart out, and her heart is immeasurable. I think so many people shed tears because she's essentially a spiritual experience for us. A Spirit Jewel Experience, if you will.
Omg, stop it, Christi. You made me sob like a toddler throughout the entire video. 😭 The song is already too emotional and row on its own. But you made the experience all the more intense. Couldn't agree more... Floor is a gift to be highly appreciated. We need more Best Zangers. 😪
I think it's time to do another tear jerking song that was written by Floor: "Strong" sang by Emma in the show in the episode celebrating Floor. She wrote the song for her mother who was quietly fighting against pain caused by rheumatism and possibly other illnesses. Emma had her connection to the song through her mother who battled against cancer (and won that round).
Let this version of singing be the one that prevails. Simplicity that makes a good song light up like a star. She has NO ego she has to let shine and can let all that light go to the song. No self indulgent runs that takes away from the words, no wailing to hide the meaning. Her voice is almost as naked as the truth in the song.
Love your response. It made me cry as well when I saw this on the show. Beautifully performed and received. Love your phrase "generosity of spirit". That is exactly it!
Let me say this. I love good singers and good rock music. I play guitar for so many years in metal banks an rock. This woman was the first woman to bring me a tear when I watched all her performances. She is good in many levels because she nails in every category. And for her to sing better live than most people in studio. I take my hat for her. Love your honesty in this channel.
Floor Jansen is starting her solo shows in the Netherlands this week, so I hope there will be some live recordings to react to in the future. Fingers crossed.

Wow. You are so nice. Floor is a gift for the world. Beste Zangers is an annual show and enjoys lots of fans. It's such beauty that songs and singing them can create and bring intense bliss and warmth. I'm 52 years old but I cry like a baby when hearing beautiful music. I love hearing your craftmanship and the sincerity in your analysis. Thank you very very much. Love from The Netherlands.
I came back to watch this today, 2 months later, just because I knew it would make me happy. When the world feels like it is falling apart, music is a wonderful form of therapy. 🥰
How beautiful, pure, moving and genuine your reaction is to this stunning performance by Floor. Rest assured the same happend to me choking up just like you did. And it makes your reaction so brilliant. Loved every bit of it
Thank you for your beautiful comment..... Nearly every song of Floor in this show makes me cry but this is so beautifully sung...with so much breath, whispering in your ears sometimes....
As Meat Loaf sang: 'Not a dry eye in the house..' 😭 Thanks must also go to Floor's "little" sister (she's even taller than Floor!) Irene (a fantastic singer in her own right) for helping with the translation. 🤘
And thank you for allowing yourself to be vulnerable and authentic with us. Your poor husband will probably sob when he sees this video (if he wasn't in the room, that is). 😘
I don’t think anyone could not feel that song, between the message of the song and the magic of her voice, if it doesn’t get to you emotional you’re a machine
Floor's magic is that she feels the music, and she projects that emotion into her singing. And this show has displayed the unbelievable range of emotions she can project and infuse in the music. Pure magic.
What a beautiful reaction you feel so much! I've got so much respect for Ruben who writes this quality of songs at his young age. And of course Floor being at her most motherly who loves Ruben.
You made great comments about what makes this great. There is nothing but humility among peers and appreciation for music and each other here. The world needs more of this....And lots more Floor.
I just started listening to Floor with Nightwish a few weeks before this Beste Zangers show came out. I love her with Nightwish but when I watched her on this show I completely fell head over heels with her. She can do anything. Floor is by far my favorite female singer of all time. Great reaction. Floor hits me in the feels every time.
Floor did it again, absolutely perfect perfomance. With Floor you can't go wrong! I am crying too, so much emotion. Thank you great reaction and analyse.
I became obsessed with Floor since I first saw her at beste zangers. She delivers the message of every song and for me she has the best female voice in the world. I am going to her solo show this week. I have watched all your reactions. You are a beautifull and genuine person. Wish you the best.
After watching a hundred "reactors" have their way with Floor Jansen's performances and then give back tearless, forced, disingenuous (contrived) and often rehearsed bits I have finally found the gentle, appreciative, engaged and fully human person who never asked for my subscription, that I recall but...got it. Seriously, I've watched so many folks enjoy her performances in a (to me) largely superficial fashion that always ended with a sudden and bloodless rush towards a reminder that "likes" and "subscriptions" were the things that truly motivated them that I was left disillusioned, saddened and hardened against giving them anything but my contempt. You and only you threw aside all artifice and accompanied me along that wonderfully tender, tearful and often explosive path laid down so skillfully by Floor and because of that I'll follow your lead and give you my attention: Thank you...
So stoked that I am going to see her at three of her shows. One of those is a sit-down concert and we are in the front row. I am surely going to need tissues, not gonna lie.
Every time i hear Floor sing i instantly feel the urge to cry like a baby. Her voice touches my soul like no other singer does. And it doesn't hurt that she is a stunning goddess of a woman to boot. What a great, raw and honest reaction Christi!
A great and sweet reaction, thank you. Floor is able to put so much emotion in her voice, she's in total control. The end of the song is mind blowing...
Absolutely beautiful reaction, and how we've all felt when watching this. Saw another reactor, big burly guy who played it twice and broke down both times. Floor has that gift of touching us all deeper than any other singer I think I've ever heard. From the first time I heard her about three years ago, have been smitten by her and Nightwish. How fortunate we all are to have been able to share the discovery of this incredible woman and that surreal voice in a class of her own. Thank You!
Thank you that was awesome. I can’t think of a finer singer and performer who has the versatility and ability to entrance an audience like Floor. It’s like watching magic!
Hi Christi, beautiful reaction, to see how appreciative you are of how Floor brings this song to us. She has this presence that invokes the emotions every time... I guess we are convinced because she is true to herself and her art. Apart from being a fabulous singer in a technical way of course... Thanks again, always looking forward to your reactions, with love from the Netherlands! And.... next Wednesday we'll see this song in concert!!
Wow christi....I love floor, I am almost 60 and into metal and proud of it...the symphonic sounds of nightwish, within temptation, delain, just the European sounds in general is a genre I've not discovered until 10 or so years ago...I then discovered you tube reaction people to include yourself...I cry alot watching people react for the first time listening to nightwish...but damn lady...you killed me watching n explaining your version of this performance...I cried more because of you this time...we are why these performers make songs like this...to touch our souls n heart strings...to then be delivered by your take...thank you...I've been a fan of you since your nightwish beginings...you are so good, I love your content and boy I love your true feelings as you struggled to finish a sentence...I cry n suffer the same way at times to finish my thoughts or sentences as you did on this performance...god bless and please continue keeping us watching for your next gem of a reaction..your the best..thanks christi..

Anytime you can evoke emotion from your audience, you are a winner. She is the person that you could sit and have a beer with and realize even though she is a super star, she is a down to earth caring person. Her kindness and humbleness says it all.
This is my favourite reaction of yours, you love this song as much as I do and I think it's your favourite as well as mine. You understand everything that's great about it, and I think you manage to make what was already a deep performance even deeper. Thank you, Christi.
You have really been able to articulate so well what most of us see & hear when watching Floor perform, as you make your way through these videos! There was a very tender moment between the two of them when she comes off stage. Reuben says something along the line of "Jesus Floor, you make everything so much better" and she tells him what a beautiful song he's written as she hugs him. Would make even a stone golum get a little verklempt :). She did mention having to fight off the wave of emotion coming from Reuben as she was singing the song, though, so you really hit the nail on the head there.
I am going to see Floor in Groningen this weekend and following your reaction I am just going to burst into tears if and when she sings this song. Thank you for this great reaction. I always look forward to you videos. Carry on the fantastic work and following Goddess Floor. Tx

Fiends of Amstel live ( Vrienden van Amstel live) is a yearly concert with many Dutch singers and bands performing together and it is spectaculair.
The song is about the divorce of Rubens parrents, and the emotion Floor puts in this song is just perfect.
Floor is just magical in the way she can convey emotion in music!!!! She is such a gift
Tears down the face... thanks a lot! lol. Perfection and i like seeing a reaction where people actually react
I love the sincerity and emotion in your response. We all feel it.
The song is already too emotional and row on its own.
YES!!! Please react to Emma Heesters singing Strong too Floor!!!
Yup. That song got me. The only one in the entire show.
She never hides anything.
Omg, i was in the middle of eating and suddenly food stuck in my throat 😭 this song always make me cry
Love your response. It made me cry as well when I saw this on the show. Beautifully performed and received.
Love your phrase "generosity of spirit". That is exactly it!
Bless you!!!! Now that’s an honest reaction. Thank you!
Your a great person! It's a tough song not to tear up, even as a man.
Watching this again - always amazed by Floor's delivery. She is a blessing to us in these trying times. Music heals...
We all are "aan het janken' to put it in Dutch. Thanks for charing, i loved it and also your loving presentation.
Floor Jansen is starting her solo shows in the Netherlands this week, so I hope there will be some live recordings to react to in the future. Fingers crossed.
Hopefully with the same sound quality as BZ.
@@Jos_G. Unless something will be professionally shot, not likeley. But I do hope there will be a surprise appearance or two from other singers from the show, like Tim for example.
There is some footage online but it's all phone quality. Very metally sound but you can still great her greatness. 😉
@@mykindamakeup Fundraiser needed $25,000 to have a show professionally shot. Had 31 days to raise it. Raised it in 3 hours. So yes, there will be a (free) video of one show.
@@alanfoster6589 my reply was a month ago, there was no fundraiser yet but I'm very aware there will be one from the last show, I'm sure it's going to be awesome!
It aches in the heart because everyone can relate... Because he's so sweet... Because her voice hits you like a bulldozer in the feels. ❤️
And Ruben is a great songwriter at such a young age
Floor hits me in the feels every time.
every single performance of Floor in this show was outstanding. it was such a great gift for all of us, who love good music
I've been pushing you to do this one for a while. Glad you finally got to it! This is probably my favourite performance of hers, besides "Winner".
beautifull reaction and many in the NightWish Army worship them and Floor Jansen she is most diffinitly a gift to our time thankyou so much
Another victim of Floor's phenomenal voice, we've all been there, love your reactions
Floor did it again, absolutely perfect perfomance. With Floor you can't go wrong! I am crying too, so much emotion. Thank you great reaction and analyse.
Floor is an anazing performer. Is has an incredible way to move people. I love your reaction. Keep up the Good work. Love from Sweden.
I became obsessed with Floor since I first saw her at beste zangers. She delivers the message of every song and for me she has the best female voice in the world. I am going to her solo show this week. I have watched all your reactions. You are a beautifull and genuine person. Wish you the best.
Thank you, Suzanne. Have a fabulous time! I am with you in spirit this week! Let us know how it went!
Crying for
strong emotions ennobles the depth of the soul ... thanks Floor!
Every time i hear Floor sing i instantly feel the urge to cry like a baby. Her voice touches my soul like no other singer does. And it doesn't hurt that she is a stunning goddess of a woman to boot.
What a great, raw and honest reaction Christi!
Your reaction makes this beautiful song even more emotional.
Always fascinating when art touches you.
Thank You!
She hits you. Whatever she sings. She hits you everywhere,
It takes a beautiful soul to recognize and appreciate beauty in the world.......
Incredible song, incredible artistry and your reaction was a gift as well. Thank you.
What a beautiful reaction - I'm sure most of us were in tears listening to this
That ring light reflecting in your eyes...is totally hypnotizing me. You said keep watching....and now I can't stop...wahhhh!
OMG your reaction is everything ❤️ I cry every time I watch this performance.
Ruben's reaction afterwards... "OMG Floor, het is toch absurd hoe jij alles beter maakt, Godverdomme/ OMG Floor , It's absurd how you make everyting better, God damnit"
Beautiful, beautiful reaction to this beautiful song. The power of Floor strikes again!
Very touching reaction! Many thanks for sharing with us!
Floor is amazing . Lot of emotions with this incredible voice . What a control , she's a master😎😍 .
Pronunciation was correct. 👍
There's nothing more beautiful, than pure honest emotion.
Oh Kristy what have you done 😭 🥺🥺 I love and follow Floor since 2007 and I love this performance! But....your words were so damn beautiful that I was crying the whole video, I even have my eyes so red. Nightwish army loves you dear! 💕💕💕💕💕
My favorite of all her performances in this show, I sob everytime I hear it. You can see it in Ruben’s eyes just how thankful he is for her performance of this
I love how genuine you are in your reactions! This one is a tear jerker for sure. ☺
Thank You for this Awesome Reaction #ShareLove
Love your reactions, so pure 💚
Last part of the song was sung like a mother to her child. That is why it touched us so much. It was like a mother's love.
I've watched this reaction a number of times now. Wish I could upvote them all. Your reaction is a beautiful tribute to the song and Floor's interpretation of it. Thank you so much.
This woman makes cry every person...
Thank you Christi, for doing this series of Floor's songs from the show, all fantastic! As others have said, there are a few more stand-out songs that some of the others did, hope you find the time to cover them as well! Cheers for an awesome 2020!
Thank you, Christi.
was the most beautiful response I have ever heard and I am a wreck thank you very much. You are also special and are to be treasured.
I always cry when watching the video
She always can tell the song she sings
Tx
This is a stunning song and a tender reaction. Thank you for just being you, and being real, and giving voice to the many emotions and the generosity in this video. It truly is a gift.
Thanks for describing exactly what I felt. Every time I hear this I oooze emotionalty. Great song, superb singer and now a great lady to make such a spot on comment.
By The way Floor translated this song in English with The help of her sister Irene (also a singer).
