Enjoy the video guys! Finale is up next week!
In the meantime, here's that Tetris video I mentioned in the video, pretty interesting stuff: th-cam.com/video/Tnztj1UlkQs/w-d-xo.html
Is the finale a full-length two-hour episode?
@@cruisingkoala1423 1h47 yes!
@@LukaelPlays That's good news! 😃
@@LukaelPlays I can't wait to see you play Below Zero! They took everything that made this game work, then expanded on it!!
PDA: these robots primary purpose is to make sure the facility doesn't fall apart
Luke: better kill them all
He broke my heart, poor little things. So innocent after keeping things tip top for all that time :( lol kill em all!
😅
Lukael: I'm safe in this cave
Sea Dragon: Hax0rz! Burnination!
Lukael: Well at least I'm not thirsty anymore.
Gotta stay positive, yknow?
.... don't feel bad about the sea dragon. Only after many playthroughs being ignored by it, did I discover its one-shot ability.
I was as shocked as you. 😂
@@thundaGawd yeah, sometime dragon bro is Surprisingly chill, other times... not so much
Lmao, The sea dragon clipping through the rock was so unlucky.
Lukael to the spider bot:
What...are...you...?
Eaten in one gulp by a sea dragon clipping through the mountain *is* quite possibly one of the most unfair deaths. :(
If I had a cent for every time Lukael incorrectly predicted that an alien arch would lead to the underwater gate in this episode, I'd have 5 cents. Which isn't much, but it's more than I expected. :)
🤣🤣🤣
This has been my favorite subnautica series since Jacksepticeye's back in 2018
Wow, thank you so much!
I agree, I watched that one and I honestly love this more. Can’t wait for him to play below zero too😊
HERE HERE !!
Totally agree!
It's up there for me, but I do love the "Liliatv' and the "Sea&me" series too
Holy shit! Sea Dragon took that personally lol
Lukael opening a gate: "This has to be leading to the underwater gate."
Gate: "Nuh-uh."
Lukael opening the 6th gate in a row: "This definitely HAS to be leading to the underwater gate, it can't be anything else now."
Gate: "Nope." 😂
Okay this one for sure! ................. damn, okay well then probably the next one! ................. right??
Wait... you can jump?!
1:42:00 the peeper is the true hero of the story. my belief is the peeper is gifted with a hive mind (recall the Strader VI pda?) and perhaps influenced by the Sea Emperor to save the planet wildlife. Mama knew the planet needed her kind and her babies to thrive and keep the bacteria down. We all go together. Each of us are important to the others. the story is deeper than people think. (pun intended)
that makes sense because i noticed that peeps are the only ones who swim around with an enzyme trail at certain spots.
The PDA entry actually hints that peepers seem to have been biologically-engineered to seek out and deliver the enzyme.
@@maksphoto78 iirc it says it's a possibility, one of several theories, another one is they adapted and evolved, another is they were working with the sea-emperor. you're free to believe what you wish. I'd like to think the sea emperor reached out to them like it did you.
The way I've always thought of it is that the being kept those around that they found useful and that had far reaching effects.
The peepers were useful to it, and ultimately without intending to might have evolved in a way that furthered the ecosystem. The interesting thing about the planet subnautica takes place on is that it's very symbiotic.
As such as it's creatures have a propensity to symbiosis as well. If you pay attention, the emperor went extinct because it's a super long-lived low birth rate creature, who's gestation actually relied on the smallest of environmental factors.
Because the precursor aliens messed with the biology of the planet without fully understanding, they caused the sea crown plant to go nigh extinct.
Such a small little plant.. that affected such a top feeding creature such as the sea emperor. As the sea emperor species vanished from the planet, the ecosystem fell out of balance. The local fauna became more hostile. Perhaps as they no longer have the psychic link with the emperor, perhaps for another reason.
However, we do know that most of the fish on this planet actually do have some level of psychic prowess, suggesting that the sea emperor is actually a necessary Link in the ecosystem.
It's entirely possible that this new eco system is intentionally created by the emperor. A sort of new kingdom by an intelligent and prime creature.. or could be a accidental by product of circumstances.
But it's clear that the emperor is a vital part of 4546B and begs the question.. what else was there before it?
1:06:40 It isn't your fault. There is *a lot* to read. Lots of players barely even read all the lore and information. Lots of player *do* find the Alien Containment Facility before they find the Thermal plant. You are playing this fine Lukale. Don't beat yourself up. I love your playthrough.
yeah he's not the first person to make numerous laps around that cavern without looking in the middle.
It's a good lesson to game devs. Hiding secrets is great, but hiding mandatory progression is no bueno.
@@Hobodeluxe007 Watching him gowing through all the side portals before he meets you know who... >_
@@maksphoto78 yeah I'm guessing he figures out what they're for next episode. he seemed to be putting it together pretty good as far as the story goes.
Finding the facility was definitely harder because you kept telling yourself it was 1400m deep when the log said 1200.
The cyclops has a thermal upgrade that gives it unlimited power down there, larva or not. But it's quite hard to find, I'll admit. In half of my playthrough I have to look for it intentionally.
i also kept waiting for him to catch on... he could've been taking out the drained cyc cells, putting them in the prawn suit to charge while he danced around the heat zone.
18:28 With skilled uss of the Grapple Arm, the Prawn suit is the fastest vehicle in the game.
Aww, I'm actually a bit sad that this playthrough is "already" coming to an end. It's been amazing, and I'm so very much looking forward to seeing you meet the Sea Emperor next episode.
I'm amazed by how unfazed you were at the Sea Dragons. I got really immersed and could hardly move around down there for fear of them.
At one point, the Sea Dragon seemed to just lock onto me. I ran like a coward, and ended up going up that "lava waterfall" to escape. Part way up I thought I had lost it, looked behind me, at it was right in my face. My partner told me my reaction was priceless 😂
Imagine my reaction when I got to the top and saw a juvenile Ghost 😭
I snuck out that way back towards my base near the Ghost tree, and the roars of the Dragon followed me from the tunnel below for much of the way. That thing had the scent of my blood for sure!
It didn't clip through the floor to eat me though, what a jump scare!
Really looking forward to the next episode, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us ❤
I know right 😭 it's always bittersweet to reach the end of a good game, but all good things must end!
Oh wow, that thing really had it in for you! they are quite persistent once they spot you, even cheating by going through walls! 😣 I hope that made you guys jump as much as it made me hahahaha thank you for watching!
@@LukaelPlays The great thing about Subnautica is that it has a very high level of replayability. The story elements will always be the same, of course, but you can vary the way you get there quite a bit. Not least since the map is so big (about 4½ x 4½ km + cave systems), so you can place your main base in a vastly different area each time. I also like to set myself certain challenges, which can help spice up the experience.
Bro! That jump scare! I've never seen that before. Almost gave me a heart attack! 😂😂😂
Well, it was fun to watch you swim circles around the thermal plant, while it lasted.
That thermal facility was like the rendezvous point all over again. Running circles all around it and never going to the center of the circle.
That cavern would be a lot more enjoyable to explore without the cheating dodongo squids, though. Their wall-phasing is so immersion breaking and makes them impossible to properly scout.
Yeah, I also struggled with navigation in this volcanic area. It's just so deceptively huge, it's absolutely massive! The whole map above is the ceiling for this one room with its tunnels. I remember I ended up building a couple small scanner room bases with 4 range upgrades to get at least some sort of map in my head. This was the only way I could find the path down to the final 1.4km facility.
Oooh building a scanner room is smart, it's just so hostile down there that I wouldn't even think of building anything there
7:00 I think most Blind players of Subnatica built there base here. There were a few that didn't, but I think most players would argue that the Cove Tree is one of the best and safest places to build a base. I've had playthroughs where I had a base in every biome just because I wanted to do it.
Putting a base in every biome - that sounds cool! Makes it easier to explore and drill lots of different resources. It's true that the Cove ("ghost") tree is one of my favorite places to put a secondary base. I did eventually start putting it near the small magma waterfall that's in the lava zone between the Cove Tree and the Lava Castle cavern, though -- makes for easier access to the lava castle and the primary containment facility (since I tend to swim there from my base using my seaglide).
1:30:00 Maybe the word you're looking for is fundamental? I agree with you. It's kind of comforting to know that any intelligent species would be able to understand the same core concepts as we do.
Aaah yeah that's a better term!
Personally I found it a lot easier to find the thermal facility than the primary containment facility but there's nothing wrong with the way your doing things, you found it and that's all that matters.
At 25:00 I think you couldn't exit the Cyclops because there was a leech right over the hatch. You can see it in just a couple of frames when you're jumping back to the Cyclops in the Prawn suit. Again: great run! It's a ton of fun watching you unravel the mysteries of the deep. :)
Never had the sea emperor glitch this much in any of my many play throughs heh
1:20:07 - Ah, but the Prawn is powered by two power cells _and_ charges them with the thermal upgrade! You could've simply swapped them out for two of the 0% ones in the Hot Luke. Why didn't you think of this? ... Ah. It appears you _have_ thought of this. Why are you taking away our backseating jobs?
I could have used it more to recharge the whole thing but I was too lazy and also didn't want to use the Hot Luke any more than I needed to lmao
I do love how the Subnautica+ mod lets us craft items if the ingredients are stored within a range. It makes the gameplay flow so much nicer.
1:26:14 THAT look, we all had it.
Nothing wrong with missing the entrance to lava castle Luke. I know where it is and still i sometimes struggle seeing the door 😂at least my voice can calm now that i can stop yelling ‚check your pda‘ that was an intense watching experience, cant wait for below zero. I subbed to patreon to reduce the waiting time by 1 week 🎉
43:00 I can sort of explain this. In addition to scanning small fish, you can pick them up to learn their cooking recipes. But I'm pretty sure you picked up the Red Eyeye before, so it's not clear why the game waited until this time to announce it.
Oh I know why. You picked it up alive, so the previous ones were dead and not able to be cooked.
Yeah the sea dragons are dirty hackers, they do that 😂
Glad you finally found the thermal plant! Looking forward to your run-in with mom leviathan next time!
Spider bot pda: its a repair unit, not to harm intruders. Prawn suit 100% health. Luke: ill just pretend im worried to justify destroying them for no reason.
Hei Lukael 😊 I'm usually a quiet viewer and i've discovered your channel through the Subnautica Lets Play. Just wanted to tell you, that i really enjoy your videos and i think one major reason for that is the way that you go about a game. You are really attentive and you truly get into the game and try to understand it. I love that you read all the PDA's and share your thoughts, theories and sometimes, like in this episode with the yin and yang symbol, even your philosophical thoughts. It's something i've actually never seen anybody else do in their Subnautica Let's Play, but i think it's such a big part of what makes this game so special and makes you truly get immersed into it. I love your playstyle, your positive and entertaining attitude and the way you look deeper into things. Therefore i already really look forward to start wachting the Detroit: Become Human Lets Play next ! So thank you for your videos and stay as you are 😊🌅
Wow, thank you so much for this very kind and thoughtful comment! 🥰 Really appreciate you taking the time to say this! I'm going to save it and read it again when I'm feeling down and it'll cheer me up ahaha Also I think the music you make is really cool, keep it up!
1:34:30 Yes the hunter is the warpers afaik. I think they share a neural network, so they are all one hive mind.
It was an absolute joy to see you piece together the story from all the lore you worked so hard to collect!! Really really satisfying! And the sea dragon glitching through the rock made me jump so hard I dropped my cigarette and had to rewind after I made sure that I wasn't on fire, so yeah, scared the hello out of me too! I appreciate the serious finger wagging when the dragon clipped through the facility while you were getting your learning on, I giggled sooo hard at that! The gate that you found leading to the mushroom biome, that is where I usually put a base, knowing what I knew about the gates, it has access to a lot of good materials, and is very helpful later on because of this gate. And I just personally thought the area was pretty so that was a favorite spot. Very much looking forward to next week, when all your questions will be answered, this episode was fire and I hope it was worth the journey for you!
Nice! Yes, very good stuff. 🙂 Waiting for the final half of the finale!
Hey! He clipped through the wall! That wasn't fair! You didn't deserve to die!
Oh wow, bad luck with the clipping. First the dragon shoots through the wall, killing you, then the dragon clips out of bounds (if you're lucky that usually means it won't bother you anymore), but then gets close enough to still grab you!
Funnily enough, in the states we have a restaurant called Jersey Mike's and ironically, they serve sub sandwiches. Sadly, nothing was named Luke. Lol.
Close enough! 😄
Dude could've been eating lantern fruit and marblemelons, but decided to eat tree bark.
Don't knock it til you tried it!
My theory: You are the "alien" You don't fool me😊 thanks for the most amusing video. I like the way you think ❤
Holy cow the Sea Dragon view the floor scared me right out of my chair, literally😮😅😶🌫️
Nice ep as always, lovin the series man - you missed scanning the electric room in the Thermal Facility (I'm not angry btw) :) I just thought you might like to know cus you like reading all the lore.
I love you little quips and faces you make!
It feels good when it all starts to come together.
I believe you said you already finished the game, I hope you set all your sea children free. They better not still be in that tank, so help me.
Guess you'll have to wait and see 🤭
The leviathans clipping through walls is massively unfair lol. I was exploring the mountain caves by the gun and the reaper there clipped through and got me from within. Part of the "charm" of the game, lol. Can't wait to see you finish it out!
Btw, for future ease of use (Below Zero), the beacons can be dropped underwater without having to equip it. There can also be times when you die and lose a beacon that was in your inventory, it pops up as a "Dropped Beacon" which you can follow to go to where you died.
So sad that this wonderful series is coming to an end. My suggestion for another game after the second subnautica would be "planet crafter". Theres even a demo on steam.
In earlier versions of the game it wasnt that easy to walk around in the alien facilities using the prawn suit. I remember getting stuck all the time.
Would be nice if you could do a short conclusion/opinion after the ending.
I do share my thoughts in the final episode!
@@LukaelPlays Very nice, thx.
The "tabarnak" took me by surprise but made me laugh so so hard! xD I wasn't expecting to hear you swear in french in any of the videos hahaha but it was pretty funny and the laugh was welcomed after I had such a bad day. Can't wait to see the rest of the series!
Sorry you had a bad day, but glad I could make you laugh! 😌
Ah, I see you have discovered once again the scariest thing in almost any game or program: glitches.
Also, never expect neither the Sea nor Dragons to play fair. Let alone a Sea Dragon. Lol
God you circeling the thermal plant gave me flashbacks to my playthrough ^^ so you´re definetly not alone with having a hard time finding it!
I'm really sad this is coming to an end - this playthrough gave me so much comfort. Also with Tunic being over aswell. But I am really excited for the finale! :)
A little bit about the lore as I enjoyd you theorizing about it: You asked why the aliens left the planet and as far as I understood they were the ones bringing the bacterium 'karahh' to the planet in order to find a cure for it reserarching the local wildlife. But they were not infected, they brought the bacterium in tubes or something just for research (sry me english left me there haha). When the sea dragon crashed into the research facility looking for its egg (inside the facility) something got broken and the bacterium was released into the ocean and spread fastly. And so quarintine was iniciated and enforced by the weapon they built just in case. So actually I don't think the aliens left the planet. Maybe some did who were at the surface at the time but I think the majority just died unfortunatly :/
1:23:22 my god this jumpscare made my heart explode jeez. I was just chilling watching ☠
Sorry about the scare ahaha it got me real bad too!
Luka, I know you're done with your playthrough of this, but since you were struggling with the back seating I have a suggestion for the future in case it helps.
Another content creator I sometimes watch here on TH-cam does a end of game session where he allows his audience to tell him everything that he might have missed and goes to explore it before he closes off everything.
I think this is maybe a method you could adapt. It might work for you by allowing you interaction with out all the hassle.
See, in his case because he does this end of game session, he can then just have his mods remove all spoilers and back seating until the end, allowing for a true blind play.
His viewers know they will get a chance to reveal and get a reaction to all missed content eventually, so typically aren't as panicked about when he does something unexpected. Everyone wins.
Always open to doing this kind of stuff, but it wouldn't stop the backseating because not everyone who watches the videos would know about it ahaha
such a great series, glad it helped me find your channel Luk, can't wait to see what you play next
You had me cackling at multiple points through this, especially the Halloween decoration bit. Exactly like a theremin! lmao. But also, you were self-snarking about "not remembering everything I read" and then you completely pulled the Sea Emperor entry out of nowhere!
The thermal plant is the only thing in this game better hidden than the nickel. Even having played entirely through the game several times, I still have to look for the door.
Also, sea dragons cheat.
Oh, you beat the game next week! Cool! I'll start watching this episode later today. It looks like you made it inside the primary containment unit this time, going off of what the picture shows. I bet you had a lot of fun unlocking all the portals inside the building and seeing where they teleport you to!
@51:33 I believe one of the data downloads talked about the thermal facility. You went around the edge of the big chamber for a long time. Pretty sure the message comes when you're close to the big rock formation in the middle.
A subnautica speedrunner I watch (salvner on youtube and twitch) nicknamed the sea dragon by the primary containment facility “Clippy” for obvious reasons. Also the CHBCLive reference in the pda is a reference to one of the people who worked on translating the game into other languages (Chinese I believe) who unfortunately died before the game was completed.
Clippy do be clippin
Bonjour Capitaine ! Nice work finding the facility. That one message came in clutch. 1:23:20 Tabarnack certain xD j'ai failli renverser mon café en voyant ca
😂😂
1:23:20 - The instant thousand yard stare 🤣 Go frame by frame with , and . keys! :D
I've never seen them grab anything! I didn't know this interaction even existed. You could easily make this into a short, your playthrough deserves more attention :D
Ahahah good idea, might do that!
Poor robots cleaning and repairing, minding their own business
Lukael casualy massacring them just in case
Mass Effect taught me to be wary of "maintenance robots" 😅
I was actually thinking the same about base location. It feels like everyone i watch has the base at that tree. Mine is always one room before tho right at the underwater volcano.
I personaly eat hot lukes for about 3 hours once every week
😳😳😳
48:42 you were talking shit about Sea Dragon AI and look what happened.
it took that personally!
"I don't even need another power cell in the prawn suit because the thermal reactor will charge it." umm. yeah you could recharge all the Cyclops cells in the prawn 2 at a time if you wanted and just swap them out when ready to go. but with the portals you could have just pulled the shield gen and left it down there and not worry about it because it's served it's purpose already.
48:00 - Very unfair!
I reckon the thermal plant is the hardest bit of the game due to the shocking vis in that bit of the game.
You are smart. You understood the story
unfortunately there are still bugs that let the animals clip through the walls and floors. Also that was one of the rare times the larva leech sealing he hatch to the cyclops. Just take the prawn with you through portals to avoid another bug
Clippy is clipping 😂
I had the sea dragon clipping through the ground a lot, but it never attacked me like that. I've never even seen that bite attack at 1:23:22
For many playthroughs the Sea Dragon left me alone basically.
However, on a recent playthrough, I got to discover it's one shot ability.
I was as shocked as Luke.... didn't expect to go from full health to dead so quickly.
1:24:00 yea... start through midgame subnautica is probably my favourite game ever. It gets really janky towards the end though, i personaly have never beaten it without teleporting using the cheat console lol.
The thermal reactor isn't limited to just the prawn suite. >.>

They look great ,so colorful ✨
Ill comment on the actual video too, this was really eye-catching
Maida brought back a Reaper, and then a Sea Dragon came out to hunt it?
Brooo you finally ready the pda on facility locations AFTER you found the thermal location 😂, that hurt.
🤣
Cyclops ran out of power because when you left it it had shield enabled
1:35:00 not a warper heart but maybe an architect egg? it said "building block" then the description was a lot like the ones regarding the eggs by "waiting for the right environment" to activate.
Maybe!
Lukael: "Sometimes I wanna get drilled too."
My inner teenager: 😳
Isn't that kinky type sh*t? damn you be wildin
Math is sort of universal. But I wish more media would show that alien cultures would likely not use base 10 math (unless the aliens also happened to have 5 or 10 digits on each hand)
Indeed. However, it is very possible for potential alien species to use binary encodings (numerical valued in base 2) on account of how basic it is.
Oooh good point!
Any base is base 10 🤓
If you have a 0, the number of digits is one more than the biggest one so it's 10 in that base.
I think it's even more interesting to explore other potential notations or counting methods because why would they necessarily have the same positional notation (10, 100, 1000...)? Even we have Roman numerals where XXX doesn't mean a three digit number but 10 + 10 + 10. There have to be other interesting systems.
@@NLitvin you guys are commenting stuff that is too smart for my videos
Un autre excellent épisode mon Luke. 🙂
Merci bien!
Hey! Luke, if possible, pay attention to the game "Spiritfarer". She is simple but very sincere. She makes me feel warm and sad at the same time.
I've been wanting to subscribe to your Patron for a long time, but unfortunately, I wasn't born in the best place and our bank cards are no longer accepted worldwide.
Thank you so much for your content!
I did play Spiritfarer! I never finished it but it was very nice!
Aaah don't worry about it, I appreciate the support regardless, thank you! 😊
Ah, the PRAWN grappling arm. My best friend haha. Anyway, my favorite playthroughs have always been Welonz, Many a True Nerd, and About Oliver. By far and away the best Subnautica playthroughs in my mind. I can safely say yours is on that list for me as well. This has been thoroughly enjoyable. And you've gained yourself a viewer for your other series as well. Just about to start your Outer Wilds playthrough.
Oh wow, thank you! 😄 hope you'll enjoy OW as well!
49:13 Full life doesn't matter. The Sea Dragon bite attack is always an instakill. He shouldn't have been able to reach you there though, that was definetly a glitch.
1:05:40 There was actually another hint that should've told you that the other facility was not the Termal Power Facility: I's not at 1200 meters. The other facility was at 1400 meters.
1:57:10 Another great video Lukael. This one seemed to fly by.
1:30:02 - "universal"
That's the one! Fundamental could work too
Yeah, I have been lost there too. The problem is that you are not really creating a mental map of the place. If you did, you would have noticed a huge mountain in the most obvious part of the place, you would have explored it and found the entrance. Instead you were just wandering around, without a goal, without trying draw the place in your mind.
Honestly, it's mostly that I was really focused on finding an alien structure that looked like the others, with green walls, cables and stuff like that. It never occurred to me it could be hidden inside the mountain (it was in the PDA entry but I forgot about it lol)
I think there was a Lava Larvae attached to the hatch on the outside. Maybe that's why you couldn't open it?
Aaah maybe?
Cuts an hour of recording, "where did Spoiler and Backseat go? So weird... Anyways-"
We know what you did.
I WOULD NEVER
Just create 6 pcs ion power cells to replace your junk power cells for infinite power your Cyclopes
but why bother when by the time you actually find the recipe for ion cells, you don't really need the cyclops that much anymore?
@@LukaelPlays you have a point there. just use the portals then.. activate all warp gates though, ion cubes generate infinitely after you drill them in the primary containment facility.. end game stuff is all I can say, to avoid spoilers.. it's never till you can create your rocket and leave the planet
@@LukaelPlays wish there you'll play with the de extinction mod so that having to ride the Cyclopes will be a making a lot of sense riding as you go deeper to the volcanic region
Hot Luke is so girthy 😆
🤣
0:00 Part 14. I'm here with my Tequila Reposado from Cozumel. I found a Four Duces shot glass to put it in. I got the shot glass from a dinner/entertainment venue where everyone talked Italian mafia style. The entertainment was good, but the food was horrible there.
48:45 Yes I concur. That was an unfair death. Unfortunately, this game has an issue with creatures clipping into walls and such. You see this even with small creatures like the Peepers in your base. As far as the hint the game gives you as to the location of the next area.. I guess you didn't swim close enough to the center for the game to trigger that. To be fair the game does give you information as to the general information of this area. I think you even read up on it at least once before.
1:02:15 Yes you can eat again! Also while on land did you know you can jump?
This is definitely the worst part of the game. They're missing some signposting here to help you find where to go.
The only clue in game is the data stating what depth each base is at
1:44:52 - I am very angry! Grrrr you missed scanning the huge power... towers or whatever, in the power facility! They would've told you that you can't disable the power facility and have to find another way. Instead you sat next to them in your Prawn and deduced the same information yourself and explained the whole lore.
🤣
Do we have to pay to watch the final episode? Really? I'm unsubscribing. You are truly incredible.
...What?? lmao no, my patrons get videos a week in advance, but the finale will still be posted here like all the others, obviously (today in fact) idk how you got that idea
