❤Good work mate! it must be the Acronis software that is unable to interface with the WD disk inside of the external m.2 enclosure because of the USB-C to USB-C connectors. Type-A, Type-C USB cable fixed it for me. That meant pluging the enclosure on my main laptop to activate the license.
Worked perfectly for my WD SN740. Had some detection issues, but realised it wouldn't work through a dock (tried to keep it charging). No issues once I connected the enclosure directly to the Ally.
I used external cloning device but after I put that ssd back in it wasn't showing the new full storage capacity. Is that because I didn't disable bitlocker ?
I am following your instructions to the letter, from the video of Western Digital Black on the official WD TH-cam channel. I have the issue that my WD Black M.2 SSD 2TB is not detected by Acronis True image. I have a ROG Strix Arion M.2 SSD external enclosure connected via USB Type-C to USB Type-C and I get the following error message: No New hardware by Western Digital has been detected. Please make sure that your new hardware by Western Digital has been attached to this system or can be detected in your local network, then try to renew the license again. Needless to say, I have been cloning drives for the past 20 years, my disk is formatted in NTFS via GPT partitions, it is detected in My Computer and assigned the drive letter E: because I also have a 1TB Sandisk SD card in there (D:)... The Rog Ally Armory Crate updated the Arion Strix Array and there are no further firmware or driver updates. I think that the external enclosure's controller might be masking the disk (WD Black) behind it... I am getting destroyed by the Acronis True image for Western Digital Black license, Please help.
I had to plug my external enclosure to my main laptop and pug the m.2 enclosure via USB-C to USB 3.2 Gen2 with a Type-A, Type-C cable... the harddrive was then detected and the Acronis True Image licence was then enabled for 1 year or so. I then plugged back the m.2 enclosure on my Rog Ally and Acronis is updated via the cloud I suppose so there was no longer a Licecse activation road block. *FYI I did buy another cheap enclosure at Canada Computer thinking that maybe the Asus ROG Strix Arion was incompatible with Acronis or somehow... Now, with retrospective, I don't think that the enclosure played a role in this as much as the Type-A, Type-C cable in relation to the Acronis software. Any thoughts Acronis? My support ticket is still opened with WD, no further updates.@@LeeGibbons-h8g

disabling bitlocker was a major waste of time. It took over 5 hours to decrypt 450gb of a 512gb m.2 SSD drive at 30 watts.

do you guys have one for ps3
I resolved it, I found a way to have the Acronis True Image License detect my WD Black. If you ask me, I will tell you how.
